출애굽기 39 장.

출39:1 그들은 여호와께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로 청색 자색 홍색 실로 성소에서 섬길 때 입을 정교한 옷을 만들고 또 아론을 위해 거룩한 옷을 만들었더라

출39:2 그는 또 금 실과 청색 자색 홍색 실과 가늘게 꼰 베 실로 에봇을 만들었으되

출39:3 금을 얇게 쳐서 오려서 실을 만들어 청색 자색 홍색 실과 가는 베 실에 섞어 정교하게 짜고

출39:4 에봇에는 어깨받이를 만들어 그 두 끝에 달아 서로 연결되게 하고

출39:5 에봇 위에 에봇을 매는 띠를 에봇과 같은 모양으로 금 실과 청색 자색 홍색 실과 가늘게 꼰 베 실로 에봇에 붙여 짰으니 여호와께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로 하였더라

출39:6 그들은 또 호마노를 깎아 금 테에 물려 도장을 새김 같이 이스라엘의 아들들의 이름을 그것에 새겨

출39:7 에봇 어깨받이에 달아 이스라엘의 아들들을 기념하는 보석을 삼았으니 여호와께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로하였더라

출39:8 그가 또 흉패를 정교하게 짜되 에봇과 같은 모양으로 금 실과 청색 자색 홍색 실과 가늘게 꼰 베 실로 하였으니

출39:9 그것의 길이가 한 뼘, 너비가 한 뼘으로 네모가 반듯하고 두 겹이며

출39:10 그것에 네 줄 보석을 물렸으니 곧 홍보석 황옥 녹주옥이 첫 줄이요

출39:11 둘째 줄은 석류석 남보석 홍마노요

출39:12 셋째 줄은 호박 백마노 자수정이요

출39:13 넷째 줄은 녹보석 호마노 벽옥이라 다 금 테에 물렸으니

출39:14 이 보석들은 이스라엘의 아들들의 이름 곧 그들의 이름대로 열 둘이라 도장을 새김 같이 그 열 두 지파의 각 이름을 새겼으며

출39:15 그들이 또 순금으로 노끈처럼 사슬을 땋아 흉패에 붙이고

출39:16 또 금 테 둘과 금 고리 둘을 만들어 그 두 고리를 흉패 두 끝에 달고

출39:17 그 땋은 두 금 사슬을 흉패 끝 두 고리에 꿰매었으며

출39:18 그 땋은 두 사슬의 다른 두 끝을 에봇 앞 두 어깨받이의 금 테에 매고

출39:19 또 금 고리 둘을 만들어 흉패 두 끝에 달았으니 곧 그 에봇을 마주한 안쪽 가장자리에 달았으며

출39:20 또 금 고리 둘을 만들어 에봇 앞 두 어깨받이 아래 매는 자리 가까운 쪽 곧 정교하게 짠 에봇 띠 위쪽에 달고

출39:21 청색 끈으로 흉패 고리와 에봇 고리에 꿰어 흉패로 정교하게 짠 에봇 띠 위에 붙여서 에봇에서 벗어지지 않게 하였으니 여호와께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로하였더라

출39:22 그가 에봇 받침 긴 옷을 전부 청색으로 짜서 만들되

출39:23 그 옷의 두 어깨사이에 구멍을 내고 갑옷 깃 같이 그 구멍 주위에 깃 을 짜서 찢어지지 않게 하고

출39:24 청색 자색 홍색 실과 가는 베 실로 그 옷 가장자리에 석류를 수놓고

출39:25 순금으로 방울을 만들어 그 옷 가장자리로 돌아가며 석류 사이사이에 달되

출39:26 방울과 석류를 서로 간격을 두고 번갈아 그 옷 가장자리로 돌아가며 달았으니 여호와께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로하였더라

출39:27 그들이 또 직조한 가는 베로 아론과 그의 아들들을 위하여 속옷을 짓고

출39:28 세마포로 두건을 짓고 세마포로 빛난 관을 만들고 가는 베 실로 짜서 세마포 속바지들을 만들고

출39:29 가는 베 실과 청색 자색 홍색 실로 수 놓아 띠를 만들었으니 여호와께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로하였더라

출39:30 그들이 또 순금으로 거룩한 패를 만들고 도장을 새김 같이 그 위에 '여호와께 성결'이라 새기고

출39:31 그 패를 청색 끈으로 관 전면에 달았으니 여호와께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로 하였더라

출39:32 이스라엘 자손이 이와 같이 성막 곧 회막의 모든 역사를 마치되 여호와께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로 다 행하고

출39:33 그들이 성막을 모세에게로 가져 왔으니 곧 막과 그 모든 기구와 그 갈고리들과 그 널판들과 그 띠들과 그 기둥들과 그 받침들과

출39:34 붉은 물을 들친 숫양의 가죽 덮개와 해달의 가죽 덮개와 가리는 휘장과

출39:35 증거궤와 그 채들과 속죄소와

출39:36 상과 그 모든 기구와 진설병과

출39:37 순금 등잔대와 그 잔 곧 벌여놓는 등잔대와 그 모든 기구와 등유와

출39:38 금 제단과 관유와 향기로운 향과 장막 휘장 문과

출39:39 놋 제단과 그 놋 그물과 그 채들과 그 모든 기구와 물두멍과 그 받침과

출39:40 뜰의 포장들과 그 기둥들과 그 받침들과 뜰 문의 휘장과 그 줄들과 그 말뚝들과 성막 곧 회막에서 사용할 모든 기구와

출39:41 성소에서 섬기기 위한 정교한 옷 곧 제사 직분을 행할 때에 입는 제사장 아론의 거룩한 옷과 그의 아들들의 옷이라

출39:42 여호와께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로 이스라엘 자손이 모든 역사를 마치매

출39:43 모세가 그 마친 모든 것을 본즉 여호와께서 명령하신 대로 되었으므로 모세가 그들에게 축복하였더라

요한복음 18 장.

요18:1 예수께서 이 말씀을 하시고 제자들과 함께 기드론 시내 건너편으로 나가시니 그 곳에 동산이 있는데 제자들과 함께 들어가시니라

요18:2 그 곳은 가끔 예수께서 제자들과 모이시는 곳이므로 예수를 파는 유다도 그 곳을 알더라

요18:3 유다가 군대와 대제사장들과 바리새인들에게서 얻은 아랫사람들을 데리고 등과 횃불과 무기를 가지고 그리로 오는지라

요18:4 예수께서 그 당할 일을 다 아시고 나아가 이르시되 너희가 누구를 찾느냐

요18:5 대답하되 나사렛 예수라 하거늘 이르시되 내가 그니라 하시니라 그를 파는 유다도 그들과 함께 섰더라

요18:6 예수께서 그들에게 내가 그니라 하실 때에 그들이 물러가서 땅에 엎드러지는지라

요18:7 이에 다시 누구를 찾느냐고 물으신대 그들이 말하되 나사렛 예수라 하거늘

요18:8 예수께서 대답하시되 너희에게 내가 그니라 하였으니 나를 찾거든 이 사람들이 가는 것은 용납하라 하시니

요18:9 이는 아버지께서 내게 주신 자 중에서 하나도 잃지 아니하였사옵나이다 하신 말씀을 응하게 하려 함이러라

요18:10 이에 시몬 베드로가 칼을 가졌는데 그것을 빼어 대제사장의 종을 쳐서 오른편 귀를 베어버리니 그 종의 이름은 말고라

요18:11 예수께서 베드로더러 이르시되 칼을 칼집에 꽂으라 아버지께서 주신 잔을 내가 마시지 아니하겠느냐 하시니라

요18:12 이에 군대와 천부장과 유대인의 아랫사람들이 예수를 잡아 결박하여

요18:13 먼저 안나스에게로 끌고 가니 안나스는 그 해의 대제사장인 가야바의 장인이라

요18:14 가야바는 유대인들에게 한 사람이 백성을 위하여 죽는 것이 유익하다고 권고하던 자러라

요18:15 시몬 베드로와 또 다른 제자 한 사람이 예수를 따르니 이 제자는 대제사장과 아는 사람이라 예수와 함께 대제사장의 집 뜰에 들어가고

요18:16 베드로는 문 밖에 서 있는지라 대제사장을 아는 그 다른 제자가 나가서 문 지키는 여자에게 말하여 베드로를 데리고 들어오니

요18:17 문 지키는 여종이 베드로에게 말하되 너도 이 사람의 제자 중 하나가 아니냐 하니 그가 말하되 나는 아니라 하고

요18:18 그 때가 추운 고로 종과 아랫사람들이 불을 피우고 서서 쬐니 베드로도 함께 서서 쬐더라

요18:19 대제사장이 예수에게 그의 제자들과 그의 교훈에 대하여 물으니

요18:20 예수께서 대답하시되 내가 드러내 놓고 세상에 말하였노라 모든 유대인들이 모이는 회당과 성전에서 항상 가르쳤고 은밀하게는 아무 것도 말하지 아니하였거늘

요18:21 어찌하여 내게 묻느냐 내가 무슨 말을 하였는지 들은 자들에게 물어 보라 그들이 내가 하던 말을 아느니라

요18:22 이 말씀을 하시매 곁에 섰던 아랫사람 하나가 손으로 예수를 쳐 이르되 네가 대제사장에게 이같이 대답하느냐 하니

요18:23 예수께서 대답하시되 내가 말을 잘못하였으면 그 잘못한 것을 증언하라 잘하였으면 네가 어찌하여 나를 치느냐 하시더라

요18:24 안나스가 예수를 결박한 그대로 대제사장 가야바에게 보내니라

요18:25 시몬 베드로가 서서 불을 쬐더니 사람들이 묻되 너도 그 제자 중 하나가 아니냐 베드로가 부인하여 이르되 나는 아니라 하니

요18:26 대제사장의 종 하나는 베드로에게 귀를 잘린 사람의 친척이라 이르되 네가 그 사람과 함께 동산에 있던 것을 내가 보지 아니하였느냐

요18:27 이에 베드로가 또 부인하니 곧 닭이 울더라

요18:28 그들이 예수를 가야바에게서 관정으로 끌고 가니 새벽이라 그들은 더럽힘을 받지 아니하고 유월절 잔치를 먹고자 하여 관정에 들어가지 아니하더라

요18:29 그러므로 빌라도가 밖으로 나가서 그들에게 말하되 너희가 무슨 일로 이 사람을 고발하느냐

요18:30 대답하여 이르되 이 사람이 행악자가 아니었더라면 우리가 당신에게 넘기지 아니하였겠나이다

요18:31 빌라도가 이르되 너희가 그를 데려다가 너희 법대로 재판하라 유대인들이 이르되 우리에게는 사람을 죽이는 권한이 없나이다 하니

요18:32 이는 예수께서 자기가 어떠한 죽음으로 죽을 것을 가리켜 하신 말씀을 응하게 하려 함이러라

요18:33 이에 빌라도가 다시 관정에 들어가 예수를 불러 이르되 네가 유대인의 왕이냐

요18:34 예수께서 대답하시되 이는 네가 스스로 하는 말이냐 다른 사람들이 나에 대하여 네게 한 말이냐

요18:35 빌라도가 대답하되 내가 유대인이냐 네 나라 사람과 대제사장들이 너를 내게 넘겼으니 네가 무엇을 하였느냐

요18:36 예수께서 대답하시되 내 나라는 이 세상에 속한 것이 아니니라 만일 내 나라가 이 세상에 속한 것이었더라면 내 종들이 싸워 나로 유대인들에게 넘겨지지 않게 하였으리라 이제 내 나라는 여기에 속한 것이 아니니라

요18:37 빌라도가 이르되 그러면 네가 왕이 아니냐 예수께서 대답하시되 네 말과 같이 내가 왕이니라 내가 이를 위하여 태어났으며 이를 위하여 세상에 왔나니 곧 진리에 대하여 증언하려 함이로라 무릇 진리에 속한 자는 내 소리를 듣느니라 하신대

요18:38 빌라도가 이르되 진리가 무엇이냐 하더라 이 말을 하고 다시 유대인들에게 나가서 이르되 나는 그에게서 아무 죄도 찾지 못하였노라

요18:39 유월절이면 내가 너희에게 한 사람을 놓아 주는 전례가 있으니 그러면 너희는 내가 유대인의 왕을 너희에게 놓아 주기를 원하느냐 하니

요18:40 그들이 또 소리 질러 이르되 이 사람이 아니라 바라바라 하니 바라바는 강도였더라

잠언 15 장.

잠15:1 유순한 대답은 분노를 쉬게 하여도 과격한 말은 노를 격동하느니라

잠15:2 지혜 있는 자의 혀는 지식을 선히 베풀고 미련한 자의 입은 미련한 것을 쏟느니라

잠15:3 여호와의 눈은 어디서든지 악인과 선인을 감찰하시느니라

잠15:4 온순한 혀는 곧 생명 나무이지만 패역한 혀는 마음을 상하게 하느니라

잠15:5 아비의 훈계를 업신여기는 자는 미련한 자요 경계를 받는 자는 슬기를 얻을 자니라

잠15:6 의인의 집에는 많은 보물이 있어도 악인의 소득은 고통이 되느니라

잠15:7 지혜로운 자의 입술은 지식을 전파하여도 미련한 자의 마음은 정함이 없느니라

잠15:8 악인의 제사는 여호와께서 미워하셔도 정직한 자의 기도는 그가 기뻐하시느니라

잠15:9 악인의 길은 여호와께서 미워하셔도 공의를 따라가는 자는 그가 사랑하시느니라

잠15:10 도를 배반하는 자는 엄한 징계를 받을 것이요 견책을 싫어하는 자는 죽을 것이니라

잠15:11 스올과 아바돈도 여호와의 앞에 드러나거든 하물며 사람의 마음이리요

잠15:12 거만한 자는 견책 받기를 좋아하지 아니하며 지혜 있는 자에게로 가지도 아니하느니라

잠15:13 마음의 즐거움은 얼굴을 빛나게 하여도 마음의 근심은 심령을 상하게 하느니라

잠15:14 명철한 자의 마음은 지식을 요구하고 미련한 자의 입은 미련한 것을 즐기느니라

잠15:15 고난 받는 자는 그 날이 다 험악하나 마음이 즐거운 자는 항상 잔치하느니라

잠15:16 가산이 적어도 여호와를 경외하는 것이 크게 부하고 번뇌하는 것보다 나으니라

잠15:17 채소를 먹으며 서로 사랑하는 것이 살진 소를 먹으며 서로 미워하는 것보다 나으니라

잠15:18 분을 쉽게 내는 자는 다툼을 일으켜도 노하기를 더디 하는 자는 시비를 그치게 하느니라

잠15:19 게으른 자의 길은 가시 울타리 같으나 정직한 자의 길은 대로니라

잠15:20 지혜로운 아들은 아비를 즐겁게 하여도 미련한 자는 어미를 업신여기느니라

잠15:21 무지한 자는 미련한 것을 즐겨 하여도 명철한 자는 그 길을 바르게 하느니라

잠15:22 의논이 없으면 경영이 무너지고 지략이 많으면 경영이 성립하느니라

잠15:23 사람은 그 입의 대답으로 말미암아 기쁨을 얻나니 때에 맞는 말이 얼마나 아름다운고

잠15:24 지혜로운 자는 위로 향한 생명 길로 말미암음으로 그 아래에 있는 스올을 떠나게 되느니라

잠15:25 여호와는 교만한 자의 집을 허시며 과부의 지계를 정하시느니라

잠15:26 악한 꾀는 여호와께서 미워하시나 선한 말은 정결하니라

잠15:27 이익을 탐하는 자는 자기 집을 해롭게 하나 뇌물을 싫어하는 자는 살게 되느니라

잠15:28 의인의 마음은 대답할 말을 깊이 생각하여도 악인의 입은 악을 쏟느니라

잠15:29 여호와는 악인을 멀리 하시고 의인의 기도를 들으시느니라

잠15:30 눈이 밝은 것은 마음을 기쁘게 하고 좋은 기별은 뼈를 윤택하게 하느니라

잠15:31 생명의 경계를 듣는 귀는 지혜로운 자 가운데에 있느니라

잠15:32 훈계 받기를 싫어하는 자는 자기의 영혼을 경히 여김이라 견책을 달게 받는 자는 지식을 얻느니라

잠15:33 여호와를 경외하는 것은 지혜의 훈계라 겸손은 존귀의 길잡이니라

빌립보서 2 장.

빌2:1 그러므로 그리스도 안에 무슨 권면이나 사랑의 무슨 위로나 성령의 무슨 교제나 긍휼이나 자비가 있거든

빌2:2 마음을 같이하여 같은 사랑을 가지고 뜻을 합하며 한마음을 품어

빌2:3 아무 일에든지 다툼이나 허영으로 하지 말고 오직 겸손한 마음으로 각각 자기보다 남을 낫게 여기고

빌2:4 각각 자기 일을 돌볼뿐더러 또한 각각 다른 사람들의 일을 돌보아 나의 기쁨을 충만하게 하라

빌2:5 너희 안에 이 마음을 품으라 곧 그리스도 예수의 마음이니

빌2:6 그는 근본 하나님의 본체시나 하나님과 동등됨을 취할 것으로 여기지 아니하시고

빌2:7 오히려 자기를 비워 종의 형체를 가지사 사람들과 같이 되셨고

빌2:8 사람의 모양으로 나타나사 자기를 낮추시고 죽기까지 복종하셨으니 곧 십자가에 죽으심이라

빌2:9 이러므로 하나님이 그를 지극히 높여 모든 이름 위에 뛰어난 이름을 주사

빌2:10 하늘에 있는 자들과 땅에 있는 자들과 땅 아래 있는 자들로 모든 무릎을 예수의 이름에 꿇게 하시고

빌2:11 모든 입으로 예수 그리스도를 주라 시인하여 하나님 아버지께 영광을 돌리게 하셨느니라

빌2:12 그러므로 나의 사랑하는 자들아 너희가 나 있을 때뿐 아니라 더욱 지금 나 없을 때에도 항상 복종하여 두렵고 떨림으로 너희 구원을 이루라

빌2:13 너희 안에서 행하시는 이는 하나님이시니 자기의 기쁘신 뜻을 위하여 너희에게 소원을 두고 행하게 하시나니

빌2:14 모든 일을 원망과 시비가 없이 하라

빌2:15 이는 너희가 흠이 없고 순전하여 어그러지고 거스르는 세대 가운데서 하나님의 흠 없는 자녀로 세상에서 그들 가운데 빛들로 나타내며

빌2:16 생명의 말씀을 밝혀 나의 달음질이 헛되지 아니하고 수고도 헛되지 아니함으로 그리스도의 날에 내가 자랑할 것이 있게 하려 함이라

빌2:17 만일 너희 믿음의 제물과 섬김 위에 내가 나를 전제로 드릴지라도 나는 기뻐하고 너희 무리와 함께 기뻐하리니

빌2:18 이와 같이 너희도 기뻐하고 나와 함께 기뻐하라

빌2:19 내가 디모데를 속히 너희에게 보내기를 주 안에서 바람은 너희의 사정을 앎으로 안위를 받으려 함이니

빌2:20 이는 뜻을 같이하여 너희 사정을 진실히 생각할 자가 이밖에 내게 없음이라

빌2:21 그들이 다 자기 일을 구하고 그리스도 예수의 일을 구하지 아니하되

빌2:22 디모데의 연단을 너희가 아나니 자식이 아버지에게 함같이 나와 함께 복음을 위하여 수고하였느니라

빌2:23 그러므로 내가 내 일이 어떻게 될지를 보아서 곧 이 사람을 보내기를 바라고

빌2:24 나도 속히 가게 될 것을 주 안에서 확신하노라

빌2:25 그러나 에바브로디도를 너희에게 보내는 것이 필요한 줄로 생각하노니 그는 나의 형제요 함께 수고하고 함께 군사 된 자요 너희 사자로 내가 쓸 것을 돕는 자라

빌2:26 그가 너희 무리를 간절히 사모하고 자기가 병든 것을 너희가 들은 줄을 알고 심히 근심한지라

빌2:27 그가 병들어 죽게 되었으나 하나님이 그를 긍휼히 여기셨고 그뿐 아니라 또 나를 긍휼히 여기사 내 근심 위에 근심을 면하게 하셨느니라

빌2:28 그러므로 내가 더욱 급히 그를 보낸 것은 너희로 그를 다시 보고 기뻐하게 하며 내 근심도 덜려 함이니라

빌2:29 이러므로 너희가 주 안에서 모든 기쁨으로 그를 영접하고 또 이와 같은 자들을 존귀히 여기라

빌2:30 그가 그리스도의 일을 위하여 죽기에 이르러도 자기 목숨을 돌보지 아니한 것은 나를 섬기는 너희의 일에 부족함을 채우려 함이니라빌3:1 끝으로 나의 형제들아 주 안에서 기뻐하라 너희에게 같은 말을 쓰는 것이 내게는 수고로움이 없고 너희에게는 안전하니라

Exodus 39.

39:1 From the blue, purple and scarlet yarn they made woven garments for ministering in the sanctuary. They also made sacred garments for Aaron, as the LORD commanded Moses.

39:2 They made the ephod of gold, and of blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and of finely twisted linen.

39:3 They hammered out thin sheets of gold and cut strands to be worked into the blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen--the work of a skilled craftsman.

39:4 They made shoulder pieces for the ephod, which were attached to two of its corners, so it could be fastened.

39:5 Its skillfully woven waistband was like it--of one piece with the ephod and made with gold, and with blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and with finely twisted linen, as the LORD commanded Moses.

39:6 They mounted the onyx stones in gold filigree settings and engraved them like a seal with the names of the sons of Israel.

39:7 Then they fastened them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod as memorial stones for the sons of Israel, as the LORD commanded Moses.

39:8 They fashioned the breastpiece--the work of a skilled craftsman. They made it like the ephod: of gold, and of blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and of finely twisted linen.

39:9 It was square--a span long and a span wide--and folded double.

39:10 Then they mounted four rows of precious stones on it. In the first row there was a ruby, a topaz and a beryl;

39:11 in the second row a turquoise, a sapphire and an emerald;

39:12 in the third row a jacinth, an agate and an amethyst;

39:13 in the fourth row a chrysolite, an onyx and a jasper. They were mounted in gold filigree settings.

39:14 There were twelve stones, one for each of the names of the sons of Israel, each engraved like a seal with the name of one of the twelve tribes.

39:15 For the breastpiece they made braided chains of pure gold, like a rope.

39:16 They made two gold filigree settings and two gold rings, and fastened the rings to two of the corners of the breastpiece.

39:17 They fastened the two gold chains to the rings at the corners of the breastpiece,

39:18 and the other ends of the chains to the two settings, attaching them to the shoulder pieces of the ephod at the front.

39:19 They made two gold rings and attached them to the other two corners of the breastpiece on the inside edge next to the ephod.

39:20 Then they made two more gold rings and attached them to the bottom of the shoulder pieces on the front of the ephod, close to the seam just above the waistband of the ephod.

39:21 They tied the rings of the breastpiece to the rings of the ephod with blue cord, connecting it to the waistband so that the breastpiece would not swing out from the ephod--as the LORD commanded Moses.

39:22 They made the robe of the ephod entirely of blue cloth--the work of a weaver--

39:23 with an opening in the center of the robe like the opening of a collar, and a band around this opening, so that it would not tear.

39:24 They made pomegranates of blue, purple and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen around the hem of the robe.

39:25 And they made bells of pure gold and attached them around the hem between the pomegranates.

39:26 The bells and pomegranates alternated around the hem of the robe to be worn for ministering, as the LORD commanded Moses.

39:27 For Aaron and his sons, they made tunics of fine linen--the work of a weaver--

39:28 and the turban of fine linen, the linen headbands and the undergarments of finely twisted linen.

39:29 The sash was of finely twisted linen and blue, purple and scarlet yarn--the work of an embroiderer--as the LORD commanded Moses.

39:30 They made the plate, the sacred diadem, out of pure gold and engraved on it, like an inscription on a seal: HOLY TO THE LORD.

39:31 Then they fastened a blue cord to it to attach it to the turban, as the LORD commanded Moses.

39:32 So all the work on the tabernacle, the Tent of Meeting, was completed. The Israelites did everything just as the LORD commanded Moses.

39:33 Then they brought the tabernacle to Moses: the tent and all its furnishings, its clasps, frames, crossbars, posts and bases;

39:34 the covering of ram skins dyed red, the covering of hides of sea cows and the shielding curtain;

39:35 the ark of the Testimony with its poles and the atonement cover;

39:36 the table with all its articles and the bread of the Presence;

39:37 the pure gold lampstand with its row of lamps and all its accessories, and the oil for the light;

39:38 the gold altar, the anointing oil, the fragrant incense, and the curtain for the entrance to the tent;

39:39 the bronze altar with its bronze grating, its poles and all its utensils; the basin with its stand;

39:40 the curtains of the courtyard with its posts and bases, and the curtain for the entrance to the courtyard; the ropes and tent pegs for the courtyard; all the furnishings for the tabernacle, the Tent of Meeting;

39:41 and the woven garments worn for ministering in the sanctuary, both the sacred garments for Aaron the priest and the garments for his sons when serving as priests.

39:42 The Israelites had done all the work just as the LORD had commanded Moses.

39:43 Moses inspected the work and saw that they had done it just as the LORD had commanded. So Moses blessed them.

John 18.

18:1 When he had finished praying, Jesus left with his disciples and crossed the Kidron Valley. On the other side there was an olive grove, and he and his disciples went into it.

18:2 Now Judas, who betrayed him, knew the place, because Jesus had often met there with his disciples.

18:3 So Judas came to the grove, guiding a detachment of soldiers and some officials from the chief priests and Pharisees. They were carrying torches, lanterns and weapons.

18:4 Jesus, knowing all that was going to happen to him, went out and asked them, "Who is it you want?"

18:5 "Jesus of Nazareth," they replied. "I am he," Jesus said. (And Judas the traitor was standing there with them.)

18:6 When Jesus said, "I am he," they drew back and fell to the ground.

18:7 Again he asked them, "Who is it you want?" And they said, "Jesus of Nazareth."

18:8 "I told you that I am he," Jesus answered. "If you are looking for me, then let these men go."

18:9 This happened so that the words he had spoken would be fulfilled: "I have not lost one of those you gave me."

18:10 Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest's servant, cutting off his right ear. (The servant's name was Malchus.)

18:11 Jesus commanded Peter, "Put your sword away! Shall I not drink the cup the Father has given me?"

18:12 Then the detachment of soldiers with its commander and the Jewish officials arrested Jesus. They bound him

18:13 and brought him first to Annas, who was the father-in-law of Caiaphas, the high priest that year.

18:14 Caiaphas was the one who had advised the Jews that it would be good if one man died for the people.

18:15 Simon Peter and another disciple were following Jesus. Because this disciple was known to the high priest, he went with Jesus into the high priest's courtyard,

18:16 but Peter had to wait outside at the door. The other disciple, who was known to the high priest, came back, spoke to the girl on duty there and brought Peter in.

18:17 "You are not one of his disciples, are you?" the girl at the door asked Peter. He replied, "I am not."

18:18 It was cold, and the servants and officials stood around a fire they had made to keep warm. Peter also was standing with them, warming himself.

18:19 Meanwhile, the high priest questioned Jesus about his disciples and his teaching.

18:20 "I have spoken openly to the world," Jesus replied. "I always taught in synagogues or at the temple, where all the Jews come together. I said nothing in secret.

18:21 Why question me? Ask those who heard me. Surely they know what I said."

18:22 When Jesus said this, one of the officials nearby struck him in the face. "Is this the way you answer the high priest?" he demanded.

18:23 "If I said something wrong," Jesus replied, "testify as to what is wrong. But if I spoke the truth, why did you strike me?"

18:24 Then Annas sent him, still bound, to Caiaphas the high priest.

18:25 As Simon Peter stood warming himself, he was asked, "You are not one of his disciples, are you?" He denied it, saying, "I am not."

18:26 One of the high priest's servants, a relative of the man whose ear Peter had cut off, challenged him, "Didn't I see you with him in the olive grove?"

18:27 Again Peter denied it, and at that moment a rooster began to crow.

18:28 Then the Jews led Jesus from Caiaphas to the palace of the Roman governor. By now it was early morning, and to avoid ceremonial uncleanness the Jews did not enter the palace; they wanted to be able to eat the Passover.

18:29 So Pilate came out to them and asked, "What charges are you bringing against this man?"

18:30 "If he were not a criminal," they replied, "we would not have handed him over to you."

18:31 Pilate said, "Take him yourselves and judge him by your own law." "But we have no right to execute anyone," the Jews objected.

18:32 This happened so that the words Jesus had spoken indicating the kind of death he was going to die would be fulfilled.

18:33 Pilate then went back inside the palace, summoned Jesus and asked him, "Are you the king of the Jews?"

18:34 "Is that your own idea," Jesus asked, "or did others talk to you about me?"

18:35 "Am I a Jew?" Pilate replied. "It was your people and your chief priests who handed you over to me. What is it you have done?"

18:36 Jesus said, "My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place."

18:37 "You are a king, then!" said Pilate. Jesus answered, "You are right in saying I am a king. In fact, for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me."

18:38 "What is truth?" Pilate asked. With this he went out again to the Jews and said, "I find no basis for a charge against him.

18:39 But it is your custom for me to release to you one prisoner at the time of the Passover. Do you want me to release 'the king of the Jews'?"

18:40 They shouted back, "No, not him! Give us Barabbas!" Now Barabbas had taken part in a rebellion.

Proverbs 15.

15:1 A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

15:2 The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouth of the fool gushes folly.

15:3 The eyes of the LORD are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good.

15:4 The tongue that brings healing is a tree of life, but a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.

15:5 A fool spurns his father's discipline, but whoever heeds correction shows prudence.

15:6 The house of the righteous contains great treasure, but the income of the wicked brings them trouble.

15:7 The lips of the wise spread knowledge; not so the hearts of fools.

15:8 The LORD detests the sacrifice of the wicked, but the prayer of the upright pleases him.

15:9 The LORD detests the way of the wicked but he loves those who pursue righteousness.

15:10 Stern discipline awaits him who leaves the path; he who hates correction will die.

15:11 Death and Destruction lie open before the LORD--how much more the hearts of men!

15:12 A mocker resents correction; he will not consult the wise.

15:13 A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit.

15:14 The discerning heart seeks knowledge, but the mouth of a fool feeds on folly.

15:15 All the days of the oppressed are wretched, but the cheerful heart has a continual feast.

15:16 Better a little with the fear of the LORD than great wealth with turmoil.

15:17 Better a meal of vegetables where there is love than a fattened calf with hatred.

15:18 A hot-tempered man stirs up dissension, but a patient man calms a quarrel.

15:19 The way of the sluggard is blocked with thorns, but the path of the upright is a highway.

15:20 A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish man despises his mother.

15:21 Folly delights a man who lacks judgment, but a man of understanding keeps a straight course.

15:22 Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.

15:23 A man finds joy in giving an apt reply--and how good is a timely word!

15:24 The path of life leads upward for the wise to keep him from going down to the grave.

15:25 The LORD tears down the proud man's house but he keeps the widow's boundaries intact.

15:26 The LORD detests the thoughts of the wicked, but those of the pure are pleasing to him.

15:27 A greedy man brings trouble to his family, but he who hates bribes will live.

15:28 The heart of the righteous weighs its answers, but the mouth of the wicked gushes evil.

15:29 The LORD is far from the wicked but he hears the prayer of the righteous.

15:30 A cheerful look brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones.

15:31 He who listens to a life-giving rebuke will be at home among the wise.

15:32 He who ignores discipline despises himself, but whoever heeds correction gains understanding.

15:33 The fear of the LORD teaches a man wisdom, and humility comes before honor.

Philippians 2.

2:1 If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion,

2:2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose.

2:3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.

2:4 Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

2:5 Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:

2:6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,

2:7 but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.

2:8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death--even death on a cross!

2:9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name,

2:10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

2:11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

2:12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed--not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence--continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,

2:13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.

2:14 Do everything without complaining or arguing,

2:15 so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe

2:16 as you hold out the word of life--in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing.

2:17 But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you.

2:18 So you too should be glad and rejoice with me.

2:19 I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, that I also may be cheered when I receive news about you.

2:20 I have no one else like him, who takes a genuine interest in your welfare.

2:21 For everyone looks out for his own interests, not those of Jesus Christ.

2:22 But you know that Timothy has proved himself, because as a son with his father he has served with me in the work of the gospel.

2:23 I hope, therefore, to send him as soon as I see how things go with me.

2:24 And I am confident in the Lord that I myself will come soon.

2:25 But I think it is necessary to send back to you Epaphroditus, my brother, fellow worker and fellow soldier, who is also your messenger, whom you sent to take care of my needs.

2:26 For he longs for all of you and is distressed because you heard he was ill.

2:27 Indeed he was ill, and almost died. But God had mercy on him, and not on him only but also on me, to spare me sorrow upon sorrow.

2:28 Therefore I am all the more eager to send him, so that when you see him again you may be glad and I may have less anxiety.

2:29 Welcome him in the Lord with great joy, and honor men like him,

2:30 because he almost died for the work of Christ, risking his life to make up for the help you could not give me.
