출애굽기 35 장.

출35:1 모세가 이스라엘 자손의 온 회중을 모으고 그들에게 이르되 여호와께서 너희에게 명령하사 행하게 하신 말씀이 이러하니라

출35:2 엿새 동안은 일하고 일곱째 날은 너희를 위한 거룩한 날이니 여호와께 엄숙한 안식일이라 누구든지 이 날에 일하는 자는 죽일지니

출35:3 안식일에는 너희의 모든 처소에서 불도 피우지 말지니라

출35:4 모세가 이스라엘 자손의 온 회중에게 말하여 이르되 여호와께서 명령하신 일이 이러하니라 이르시기를

출35:5 너희의 소유 중에서 너희는 여호와께 드릴 것을 택하되 마음에 원하는 자는 누구든지 그것을 가져다가 여호와께 드릴지니 곧 금과 은과 놋과

출35:6 청색 자색 홍색 실과 가는 베 실과 염소 털과

출35:7 붉은 물 들인 숫양의 가죽과 해달의 가죽과 조각목과

출35:8 등유와 및 관유에 드는 향품과 분향할 향을 만드는 향품과

출35:9 호마노며 에봇과 흉패에 물릴 보석이니라

출35:10 무릇 너희 중 마음이 지혜로운 자는 와서 여호와께서 명령하신 것을 다 만들지니

출35:11 곧 성막과 천막과 그 덮개와 그 갈고리와 그 널판과 그 띠와 그 기둥과 그 받침과

출35:12 증거궤와 그 채와 속죄소와 그 가리는 휘장과

출35:13 상과 그 채와 그 모든 기구와 진설병과

출35:14 불 켜는 등잔대와 그 기구와 그 등잔과 등유와

출35:15 분향단과 그 채와 관유와 분향할 향품과 성막 문의 휘장과

출35:16 번제단과 그 놋 그물과 그 채와 그 모든 기구와 물두멍과 그 받침과

출35:17 뜰의 포장과 그 기둥과 그 받침과 뜰 문의 휘장과

출35:18 장막 말뚝과 뜰의 말뚝과 그 줄과

출35:19 성소에서 섬기기 위하여 정교하게 만든 옷 곧 제사 직분을 행할 때에 입는 제사장 아론의 거룩한 옷과 그의 아들들의 옷이니라

출35:20 이스라엘 자손의 온 회중이 모세 앞에서 물러갔더니

출35:21 마음이 감동된 모든 자와 자원하여 모든 자가 와서 회막을 짓기 위하여 그 속에서 쓸 모든 것을 위하여, 거룩한 옷을 위하여 예물을 가져다가 여호와께 드렸으니

출35:22 곧 마음에 원하는 남녀가 와서 팔찌와 귀고리와 가락지와 목걸이와 여러 가지 금품을 가져다가 사람마다 여호와께 금 예물을 드렸으며

출35:23 무릇 청색 자색 홍색 실과 가는 베 실과 염소 털과 붉은 물들인 숫양의 가죽과 해달의 가죽이 있는 자도 가져왔으며

출35:24 은과 놋으로 예물을 삼는 모든 자가 가져다가 여호와께 드렸으며 섬기는 일에 소용되는 조각목이 있는 모든 자는 가져왔으며

출35:25 마음이 슬기로운 모든 여인은 손수 실을 빼고 그 뺀 청색 자색 홍색 실과 가는 베 실을 가져왔으며

출35:26 마음에 감동을 받아 슬기로운 모든 여인은 염소 털로 실을 뽑았으며

출35:27 모든 족장은 호마노와 및 에봇과 흉패에 물릴 보석을 가져왔으며

출35:28 등불과 관유와 분향할 향에 소용되는 기름과 향품을 가져왔으니

출35:29 마음에 자원하는 남녀는 누구나 여호와께서 모세의 손을 빌어 명령하신 모든 것을 만들기 위하여 물품을 드렸으니 이것이 이스라엘 자손이 여호와께 자원하여 드린 예물이니

출35:30 모세가 이스라엘 자손에게 이르되 볼지어다 여호와께서 유다 지파 훌의 손자요 우리의 아들인 브살렐을 지명하여 부르시고

출35:31 하나님의 영을 그에게 충만하게 하여 지혜와 총명과 지식으로 여러 가지 일을 하게 하시되

출35:32 금과 은과 놋으로 제작하는 기술을 고안하게 하시며

출35:33 보석을 깎아 물리며 나무를 새기는 여러 가지 정교한 일을 하게 하셨고

출35:34 또 그와 단 지파 아히사막의 아들 오홀리압을 감동시키사 가르치게 하시며

출35:35 지혜로운 마음을 그들에게 충만하게 하사 여러 가지 일을 하게 하시되 조각하는 일과 세공하는 일과 청색 자색 홍색 실과 가는 베 실로 수 놓는 일과 짜는 일과 그 외에 여러 가지 일을 하게 하시고 정교한 일을 고안하게 하셨느니라

요한복음 14 장.

요14:1 너희는 마음에 근심하지 말라 하나님을 믿으니 또 나를 믿으라

요14:2 내 아버지 집에 거할 곳이 많도다 그렇지 않으면 너희에게 일렀으리라 내가 너희를 위하여 거처를 예비하러 가노니

요14:3 가서 너희를 위하여 거처를 예비하면 내가 다시 와서 너희를 내게로 영접하여 나 있는 곳에 너희도 있게 하리라

요14:4 내가 어디로 가는지 그 길을 너희가 아느니라

요14:5 도마가 이르되 주여 어디로 가시는지 우리가 알지 못하거늘 그 길을 어찌 알겠사옵나이까

요14:6 예수께서 이르시되 내가 곧 길이요 진리요 생명이니 나로 말미암지 않고는 아버지께로 올 자가 없느니라

요14:7 너희가 나를 알았더라면 내 아버지도 알았으리로다 이제부터는 너희가 그를 알았고 또 보았느니라

요14:8 빌립이 이르되 주여 아버지를 우리에게 보여 주옵소서 그리하면 족하겠나이다

요14:9 예수께서 이르시되 빌립아 내가 이렇게 오래 너희와 함께 있으되 네가 나를 알지 못하느냐 나를 본 자는 아버지를 보았거늘 어찌하여 아버지를 보이라 하느냐

요14:10 나는 아버지 안에 거하고 아버지는 내 안에 계신 것을 네가 믿지 아니하느냐 내가 너희에게 이르는 말은 스스로 하는 것이 아니라 아버지께서 내 안에 계셔서 그의 일을 하시는 것이라

요14:11 내가 아버지 안에 거하고 아버지께서 내 안에 계심을 믿으라 그렇지 못하겠거든 행하는 그 일로 말미암아 나를 믿으라

요14:12 내가 진실로 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 나를 믿는 자는 내가 하는 일을 그도 할 것이요 또한 그보다 큰 일도 하리니 이는 내가 아버지께로 감이라

요14:13 너희가 내 이름으로 무엇을 구하든지 내가 행하리니 이는 아버지로 하여금 아들로 말미암아 영광을 받으시게 하려 함이라

요14:14 내 이름으로 무엇이든지 내게 구하면 내가 행하리라

요14:15 너희가 나를 사랑하면 나의 계명을 지키리라

요14:16 내가 아버지께 구하겠으니 그가 또 다른 보혜사를 너희에게 주사 영원토록 너희와 함께 있게 하리니

요14:17 그는 진리의 영이라 세상은 능히 그를 받지 못하나니 이는 그를 보지도 못하고 알지도 못함이라 그러나 너희는 그를 아나니 그는 너희와 함께 거하심이요 또 너희 속에 계시겠음이라

요14:18 내가 너희를 고아와 같이 버려두지 아니하고 너희에게로 오리라

요14:19 조금 있으면 세상은 다시 나를 보지 못할 것이로되 너희는 나를 보리니 이는 내가 살아 있고 너희도 살아 있겠음이라

요14:20 그 날에는 내가 아버지 안에, 너희가 내 안에, 내가 너희 안에 있는 것을 너희가 알리라

요14:21 나의 계명을 지키는 자라야 나를 사랑하는 자니 나를 사랑하는 자는 내 아버지께 사랑을 받을 것이요 나도 그를 사랑하여 그에게 나를 나타내리라

요14:22 가룟인 아닌 유다가 이르되 주여 어찌하여 자기를 우리에게는 나타내시고 세상에는 아니하려 하시나이까

요14:23 예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 사람이 나를 사랑하면 내 말을 지키리니 내 아버지께서 그를 사랑하실 것이요 우리가 그에게 가서 거처를 그와 함께 하리라

요14:24 나를 사랑하지 아니하는 자는 내 말을 지키지 아니하나니 너희가 듣는 말은 내 말이 아니요 나를 보내신 아버지의 말씀이니라

요14:25 내가 아직 너희와 함께 있어서 이 말을 너희에게 하였거니와

요14:26 보혜사 곧 아버지께서 내 이름으로 보내실 성령 그가 너희에게 모든 것을 가르치고 내가 너희에게 말한 모든 것을 생각나게 하리라

요14:27 평안을 너희에게 끼치노니 곧 나의 평안을 너희에게 주노라 내가 너희에게 주는 것은 세상이 주는 것 같지 아니하니라 너희는 마음에 근심하지도 말고 두려워하지도 말라

요14:28 내가 갔다가 너희에게로 온다 하는 말을 너희가 들었나니 나를 사랑하였더라면 내가 아버지께로 감을 기뻐하였으리라 아버지는 나보다 크심이니라

요14:29 이제 일이 일어나기 전에 너희에게 말한 것은 일이 일어날 때에 너희로 믿게 하려 함이라

요14:30 이 후에는 내가 너희와 말을 많이 하지 아니하리니 이 세상의 임금이 오겠음이라 그러나 그는 내게 관계할 것이 없으니

요14:31 오직 내가 아버지를 사랑하는 것과 아버지께서 명하신 대로 행하는 것을 세상이 알게 하려 함이로라 일어나라 여기를 떠나자 하시니라

잠언 11 장.

잠11:1 속이는 저울은 여호와께서 미워하시나 공평한 추는 그가 기뻐하시느니라

잠11:2 교만이 오면 욕도 오거니와 겸손한 자에게는 지혜가 있느니라

잠11:3 정직한 자의 성실은 자기를 인도하거니와 사악한 자의 패역은 자기를 망하게 하느니라

잠11:4 재물은 진노하시는 날에 무익하나 공의는 죽음에서 건지느니라

잠11:5 완전한 자의 공의는 자기의 길을 곧게 하려니와 악한 자는 자기의 악으로 말미암아 넘어지리라

잠11:6 정직한 자의 공의는 자기를 건지려니와 사악한 자는 자기의 악에 잡히리라

잠11:7 악인은 죽을 때에 그 소망이 끊어지나니 불의의 소망이 없어지느니라

잠11:8 의인은 환난에서 구원을 얻으나 악인은 자기의 길로 가느니라

잠11:9 악인은 입으로 그의 이웃을 망하게 하여도 의인은 그의 지식으로 말미암아 구원을 얻느니라

잠11:10 의인이 형통하면 성읍이 즐거워하고 악인이 패망하면 기뻐 외치느니라

잠11:11 성읍은 정직한 자의 축복으로 인하여 진흥하고 악한 자의 입으로 말미암아 무너지느니라

잠11:12 지혜 없는 자는 그의 이웃을 멸시하나 명철한 자는 잠잠하느니라

잠11:13 두루 다니며 한담하는 자는 남의 비밀을 누설하나 마음이 신실한 자는 그런 것을 숨기느니라

잠11:14 지략이 없으면 백성이 망하여도 지략이 많으면 평안을 누리느니라

잠11:15 타인을 위하여 보증이 되는 자는 손해를 당하여도 보증이 되기를 싫어하는 자는 평안하니라

잠11:16 유덕한 여자는 존영을 얻고 근면한 남자는 재물을 얻느니라

잠11:17 인자한 자는 자기의 영혼을 이롭게 하고 잔인한 자는 자기의 몸을 해롭게 하느니라

잠11:18 악인의 삯은 허무하되 공의를 뿌린 자의 상은 확실하니라

잠11:19 공의를 굳게 지키는 자는 생명에 이르고 악을 따르는 자는 사망에 이르느니라

잠11:20 마음이 굽은 자는 여호와께 미움을 받아도 행위가 온전한 자는 그의 기뻐하심을 받느니라

잠11:21 악인은 피차 손을 잡을지라도 벌을 면하지 못할 것이나 의인의 자손은 구원을 얻으리라

잠11:22 아름다운 여인이 삼가지 아니하는 것은 마치 돼지 코에 금 고리 같으니라

잠11:23 의인의 소원은 오직 선하나 악인의 소망은 진노를 이루느니라

잠11:24 흩어 구제하여도 더욱 부하게 되는 일이 있나니 과도히 아껴도 가난하게 될 뿐이니라

잠11:25 구제를 좋아하는 자는 풍족하여질 것이요 남을 윤택하게 하는 자는 자기도 윤택하여지리라

잠11:26 곡식을 내놓지 아니하는 자는 백성에게 저주를 받을 것이나 파는 자는 그의 머리에 복이 임하리라

잠11:27 선을 간절히 구하는 자는 은총을 얻으려니와 악을 더듬어 찾는 자에게는 악이 임하리라

잠11:28 자기의 재물을 의지하는 자는 패망하려니와 의인은 푸른 잎사귀 같아서 번성하리라

잠11:29 자기 집을 해롭게 하는 자의 소득은 바람이라 미련한 자는 마음이 지혜로운 자의 종이 되리라

잠11:30 의인의 열매는 생명 나무라 지혜로운 자는 사람을 얻느니라

잠11:31 보라 의인이라도 이 세상에서 보응을 받겠거든 하물며 악인과 죄인이리요

에베소서 4 장.

엡4:1 그러므로 주 안에서 갇힌 내가 너희를 권하노니 너희가 부르심을 받은 일에 합당하게 행하여

엡4:2 모든 겸손과 온유로 하고 오래 참음으로 사랑 가운데서 서로 용납하고

엡4:3 평안의 매는 줄로 성령이 하나되게 하신 것을 힘써 지키라

엡4:4 몸이 하나이요 성령도 한 분이시니 이와 같이 너희가 부르심의 한 소망 안에서 부르심을 받았느니라

엡4:5 주도 한 분이시요 믿음도 하나이요 세례도 하나이요

엡4:6 하나님도 한 분이시니 곧 만유의 아버지시라 만유 위에 계시고 만유를 통일하시고 만유 가운데 계시도다

엡4:7 우리 각 사람에게 그리스도의 선물의 분량대로 은혜를 주셨나니

엡4:8 그러므로 이르기를 그가 위로 올라가실 때에 사로잡혔던 자들을 사로잡으시고 사람들에게 선물을 주셨다 하였도다

엡4:9 올라가셨다 하였은즉 땅 아래 낮은 곳으로 내리셨던 것이 아니면 무엇이냐

엡4:10 내리셨던 그가 곧 모든 하늘 위에 오르신 자니 이는 만물을 충만하게 하려 하심이라

엡4:11 그가 어떤 사람은 사도로, 어떤 사람은 선지자로, 어떤 사람은 복음 전하는 자로, 어떤 사람은 목사와 교사로 삼으셨으니

엡4:12 이는 성도를 온전하게 하며 봉사의 일을 하게 하며 그리스도의 몸을 세우려 하심이라

엡4:13 우리가 다 하나님의 아들을 믿는 것과 아는 일에 하나가 되어 온전한 사람을 이루어 그리스도의 장성한 분량이 충만한 데까지 이르리니

엡4:14 이는 우리가 이제부터 어린 아이가 되지 아니하여 사람의 속임수와 간사한 유혹에 빠져 온갖 교훈의 풍조에 밀려 요동하지 않게 하려 함이라

엡4:15 오직 사랑 안에서 참된 것을 하여 범사에 그에게까지 자랄지라 그는 머리니 곧 그리스도라

엡4:16 그에게서 온 몸이 각 마디를 통하여 도움을 받음으로 연결되고 결합되어 각 지체의 분량대로 역사하여 그 몸을 자라게 하며 사랑 안에서 스스로 세우느니라

엡4:17 그러므로 내가 이것을 말하며 주 안에서 증거하노니 이제부터 너희는 이방인이 그 마음의 허망한 것으로 행함 같이 행하지 말라

엡4:18 그들의 총명이 어두워지고 그들 가운데 있는 무지함과 그들의 마음이 굳어짐으로 말미암아 하나님의 생명에서 떠나 있도다

엡4:19 그들이 감각 없는 자가 되어 자신을 방탕에 방임하여 모든 더러운 것을 욕심으로 행하되

엡4:20 오직 너희는 그리스도를 그같이 배우지 아니하였느니라

엡4:21 진리가 예수 안에 있는 것 같이 너희가 참으로 그에게서 듣고 또한 그 안에서 가르침을 받았을 진대

엡4:22 너희는 유혹의 욕심을 따라 썩어져 가는 구습을 따르는 옛 사람을 벗어 버리고

엡4:23 오직 너희의 심령이 새롭게 되어

엡4:24 하나님을 따라 의와 진리의 거룩함으로 지으심을 받은 새 사람을 입으라

엡4:25 그런즉 거짓을 버리고 각각 그 이웃과 더불어 참된 것을 말하라 이는 우리가 서로 지체가 됨이라

엡4:26 분을 내어도 죄를 짓지 말며 해가 지도록 분을 품지 말고

엡4:27 마귀에게 틈을 주지 말라

엡4:28 도둑질하는 자는 다시 도둑질 하지 말고 돌이켜 가난한 자에게 구제할 수 있도록 자기 손으로 수고하여 선한 일을 하라

엡4:29 무릇 더러운 말은 너희 입 밖에도 내지 말고 오직 덕을 세우는 데 소용되는 대로 선한 말을 하여 듣는 자들에게 은혜를 끼치게 하라

엡4:30 하나님의 성령을 근심하게 하지 말라 그 안에서 너희가 구원의 날까지 인치심을 받았느니라

엡4:31 너희는 모든 악독과 노함과 분냄과 떠드는 것과 비방하는 것을 모든 악의와 함께 버리고

엡4:32 서로 친절하게 하며 불쌍히 여기며 서로 용서하기를 하나님이 그리스도 안에서 너희를 용서하심과 같이 하라

Exodus 35.

35:1 Moses assembled the whole Israelite community and said to them, "These are the things the LORD has commanded you to do:

35:2 For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it must be put to death.

35:3 Do not light a fire in any of your dwellings on the Sabbath day."

35:4 Moses said to the whole Israelite community, "This is what the LORD has commanded:

35:5 From what you have, take an offering for the LORD. Everyone who is willing is to bring to the LORD an offering of gold, silver and bronze;

35:6 blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen; goat hair;

35:7 ram skins dyed red and hides of sea cows; acacia wood;

35:8 olive oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense;

35:9 and onyx stones and other gems to be mounted on the ephod and breastpiece.

35:10 "All who are skilled among you are to come and make everything the LORD has commanded:

35:11 the tabernacle with its tent and its covering, clasps, frames, crossbars, posts and bases;

35:12 the ark with its poles and the atonement cover and the curtain that shields it;

35:13 the table with its poles and all its articles and the bread of the Presence;

35:14 the lampstand that is for light with its accessories, lamps and oil for the light;

35:15 the altar of incense with its poles, the anointing oil and the fragrant incense; the curtain for the doorway at the entrance to the tabernacle;

35:16 the altar of burnt offering with its bronze grating, its poles and all its utensils; the bronze basin with its stand;

35:17 the curtains of the courtyard with its posts and bases, and the curtain for the entrance to the courtyard;

35:18 the tent pegs for the tabernacle and for the courtyard, and their ropes;

35:19 the woven garments worn for ministering in the sanctuary--both the sacred garments for Aaron the priest and the garments for his sons when they serve as priests."

35:20 Then the whole Israelite community withdrew from Moses' presence,

35:21 and everyone who was willing and whose heart moved him came and brought an offering to the LORD for the work on the Tent of Meeting, for all its service, and for the sacred garments.

35:22 All who were willing, men and women alike, came and brought gold jewelry of all kinds: brooches, earrings, rings and ornaments. They all presented their gold as a wave offering to the LORD.

35:23 Everyone who had blue, purple or scarlet yarn or fine linen, or goat hair, ram skins dyed red or hides of sea cows brought them.

35:24 Those presenting an offering of silver or bronze brought it as an offering to the LORD, and everyone who had acacia wood for any part of the work brought it.

35:25 Every skilled woman spun with her hands and brought what she had spun--blue, purple or scarlet yarn or fine linen.

35:26 And all the women who were willing and had the skill spun the goat hair.

35:27 The leaders brought onyx stones and other gems to be mounted on the ephod and breastpiece.

35:28 They also brought spices and olive oil for the light and for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense.

35:29 All the Israelite men and women who were willing brought to the LORD freewill offerings for all the work the LORD through Moses had commanded them to do.

35:30 Then Moses said to the Israelites, "See, the LORD has chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah,

35:31 and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts--

35:32 to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze,

35:33 to cut and set stones, to work in wood and to engage in all kinds of artistic craftsmanship.

35:34 And he has given both him and Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach others.

35:35 He has filled them with skill to do all kinds of work as craftsmen, designers, embroiderers in blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen, and weavers--all of them master craftsmen and designers.

John 14.

14:1 "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.

14:2 In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.

14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

14:4 You know the way to the place where I am going."

14:5 Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?"

14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

14:7 If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him."

14:8 Philip said, "Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us."

14:9 Jesus answered: "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'?

14:10 Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you are not just my own. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work.

14:11 Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves.

14:12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

14:13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father.

14:14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

14:15 "If you love me, you will obey what I command.

14:16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever--

14:17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.

14:18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

14:19 Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live.

14:20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.

14:21 Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him."

14:22 Then Judas (not Judas Iscariot) said, "But, Lord, why do you intend to show yourself to us and not to the world?"

14:23 Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.

14:24 He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.

14:25 "All this I have spoken while still with you.

14:26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

14:28 "You heard me say, 'I am going away and I am coming back to you.' If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.

14:29 I have told you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe.

14:30 I will not speak with you much longer, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold on me,

14:31 but the world must learn that I love the Father and that I do exactly what my Father has commanded me. "Come now; let us leave.

Proverbs 11.

11:1 The LORD abhors dishonest scales, but accurate weights are his delight.

11:2 When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.

11:3 The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.

11:4 Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.

11:5 The righteousness of the blameless makes a straight way for them, but the wicked are brought down by their own wickedness.

11:6 The righteousness of the upright delivers them, but the unfaithful are trapped by evil desires.

11:7 When a wicked man dies, his hope perishes; all he expected from his power comes to nothing.

11:8 The righteous man is rescued from trouble, and it comes on the wicked instead.

11:9 With his mouth the godless destroys his neighbor, but through knowledge the righteous escape.

11:10 When the righteous prosper, the city rejoices; when the wicked perish, there are shouts of joy.

11:11 Through the blessing of the upright a city is exalted, but by the mouth of the wicked it is destroyed.

11:12 A man who lacks judgment derides his neighbor, but a man of understanding holds his tongue.

11:13 A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy man keeps a secret.

11:14 For lack of guidance a nation falls, but many advisers make victory sure.

11:15 He who puts up security for another will surely suffer, but whoever refuses to strike hands in pledge is safe.

11:16 A kindhearted woman gains respect, but ruthless men gain only wealth.

11:17 A kind man benefits himself, but a cruel man brings trouble on himself.

11:18 The wicked man earns deceptive wages, but he who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.

11:19 The truly righteous man attains life, but he who pursues evil goes to his death.

11:20 The LORD detests men of perverse heart but he delights in those whose ways are blameless.

11:21 Be sure of this: The wicked will not go unpunished, but those who are righteous will go free.

11:22 Like a gold ring in a pig's snout is a beautiful woman who shows no discretion.

11:23 The desire of the righteous ends only in good, but the hope of the wicked only in wrath.

11:24 One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty.

11:25 A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.

11:26 People curse the man who hoards grain, but blessing crowns him who is willing to sell.

11:27 He who seeks good finds goodwill, but evil comes to him who searches for it.

11:28 Whoever trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will thrive like a green leaf.

11:29 He who brings trouble on his family will inherit only wind, and the fool will be servant to the wise.

11:30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise.

11:31 If the righteous receive their due on earth, how much more the ungodly and the sinner!

Ephesians 4.

4:1 As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.

4:2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

4:3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.

4:4 There is one body and one Spirit--just as you were called to one hope when you were called--

4:5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism;

4:6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

4:7 But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.

4:8 This is why it says: "When he ascended on high, he led captives in his train and gave gifts to men."

4:9 (What does "he ascended" mean except that he also descended to the lower, earthly regions?

4:10 He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe.)

4:11 It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers,

4:12 to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up

4:13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

4:14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming.

4:15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ.

4:16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

4:17 So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking.

4:18 They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.

4:19 Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more.

4:20 You, however, did not come to know Christ that way.

4:21 Surely you heard of him and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus.

4:22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires;

4:23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds;

4:24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

4:25 Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body.

4:26 "In your anger do not sin": Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,

4:27 and do not give the devil a foothold.

4:28 He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands, that he may have something to share with those in need.

4:29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

4:30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

4:31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.

4:32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
