출애굽기 34 장.

출34:1 여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 너는 돌판 둘을 처음 것과 같이 다듬어 만들라 네가 깨뜨린 처음 판에 있던 말을 내가 그 판에 쓰리니

출34:2 아침까지 준비하고 아침에 시내 산에 올라와 산꼭대기에서 내게 보이되

출34:3 아무도 너와 함께 오르지 말며 온 산에 아무도 나타나지 못하게 하고 양과 소도 산 앞에서 먹지 못하게 하라

출34:4 모세가 돌판 둘을 처음 것과 같이 깎아 만들고 아침에 일찍이 일어나 그 두 돌판을 손에 들고 여호와의 명령대로 시내 산에 올라가니

출34:5 여호와께서 구름 가운데에 강림하사 그와 함께 거기 서서 여호와의 이름을 선포하실새

출34:6 여호와께서 그의 앞으로 지나시며 선포하시되 여호와라 여호와라 자비롭고 은혜롭고 노하기를 더디하고 인자와 진실이 많은 하나님이라

출34:7 인자를 천대까지 베풀며 악과 과실과 죄를 용서하리라 그러나 벌을 면제하지는 아니하고 아버지의 악행을 자손 삼사 대까지 보응하리라

출34:8 모세가 급히 땅에 엎드려 경배하며

출34:9 이르되 주여 내가 주께 은총을 입었거든 원하건대 주는 우리와 동행하옵소서 이는 목이 뻣뻣한 백성이니이다 우리의 악과 죄를 사하시고 우리를 주의 기업으로 삼으소서

출34:10 여호와께서 이르시되 보라 내가 언약을 세우나니 곧 내가 아직 온 땅 아무 국민에게도 행하지 아니한 이적을 너희 전체 백성 앞에 행할 것이라 네가 머무는 나라 백성이 다 여호와의 행하심을 보리니 내가 너를 위하여 행할 일이 두려운 것임이니라

출34:11 너는 내가 오늘 네게 명령하는 것을 삼가 지키라 보라 내가 네 앞에서 아모리 사람과 가나안 사람과 헷 사람과 브리스 사람과 히위 사람과 여부스 사람을 쫓아내리니

출34:12 너는 스스로 삼가 네가 들어가는 땅의 주민과 언약을 세우지 말라 그것이 너희에게 올무가 될까 하노라

출34:13 너희는 도리어 그들의 제단들을 헐고 그들의 주상을 깨뜨리고 그들의 아세라 상을 찍을지어다

출34:14 너는 다른 신에게 절하지 말라 여호와는 질투라 이름하는 질투의 하나님임이니라

출34:15 너는 삼가 그 땅의 주민과 언약을 세우지 말지니 이는 그들이 모든 신을 음란하게 섬기며 그들의 신들에게 제물을 드리고 너를 청하면 네가 그 제물을 먹을까 함이며

출34:16 또 네가 그들의 딸들을 네 아들들의 아내로 삼음으로 그들의 딸들이 그들의 신들을 음란하게 섬기며 네 아들에게 그들의 신들을 음란하게 섬기게 할까 함이니라

출34:17 너는 신상들을 부어 만들지 말지니라

출34:18 너는 무교절을 지키되 내가 네게 명령한 대로 아빕월 그 절기에 이레 동안 무교병을 먹으라 이는 네가 아빕월에 애굽에서 나왔음이니라

출34:19 모든 첫 태생은 다 내 것이며 네 가축의 모든 처음 난 수컷인 소와 양도 다 그러하며

출34:20 나귀의 첫 새끼는 어린 양으로 대속할 것이요 그렇게 하지 아니 하려면 그 목을 꺾을 것이며 네 아들 중 장자는 다 대속할지며 빈 손으로 내 얼굴을 보지 말지니라

출34:21 너는 엿새 동안 일하고 일곱째 날에는 쉴지니 밭 갈 때에나 거둘 때에도 쉴지며

출34:22 칠칠절 곧 맥추의 초실절을 지키고 세말에는 수장절을 지키라

출34:23 너희의 모든 남자는 매년 세 번씩 주 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님 앞에 보일지라

출34:24 내가 이방 나라들을 네 앞에서 쫓아내고 네 지경을 넓히리니 네가 매년 세 번씩 여호와 네 하나님을 뵈려고 올 때에 아무도 네 땅을 탐내지 못하리라

출34:25 너는 내 제물의 피를 유교병과 함께 드리지 말며 유월절 제물을 아침까지 두지 말지며

출34:26 네 토지 소산의 처음 익은 것을 가져다가 네 하나님 여호와의 전에 드릴지며 너는 염소 새끼를 그 어미의 젖으로 삶지 말지니라

출34:27 여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 너는 이 말들을 기록하라 내가 이 말들의 뜻대로 너와 이스라엘과 언약을 세웠음이니라 하시니라

출34:28 모세가 여호와와 함께 사십 일 사십 야를 거기 있으면서 떡도 먹지 아니하였고 물도 마시지 아니하였으며 여호와께서는 언약의 말씀 곧 십계명을 그 판들에 기록하셨더라

출34:29 모세가 그 증거의 두 판을 모세의 손에 들고 시내 산에서 내려오니 그 산에서 내려올 때에 모세는 자기가 여호와와 말하였음으로 말미암아 얼굴 피부에 광채가 나나 깨닫지 못하였더라

출34:30 아론과 온 이스라엘 자손이 모세를 볼 때에 모세의 얼굴 피부에 광채가 남을 보고 그에게 가까이 하기를 두려워하더니

출34:31 모세가 그들을 부르매 아론과 회중의 모든 어른이 모세에게로 오고 모세가 그들과 말하니

출34:32 그 후에야 온 이스라엘 자손이 가까이 오는지라 모세가 여호와께서 시내 산에서 자기에게 이르신 말씀을 다 그들에게 명령하고

출34:33 모세가 그들에게 말하기를 마치고 수건으로 자기 얼굴을 가렸더라

출34:34 그러나 모세가 여호와 앞에 들어가서 함께 말할 때에는 나오기까지 수건을 벗고 있다가 나와서는 그 명령하신 일을 이스라엘 자손에게 전하며

출34:35 이스라엘 자손이 모세의 얼굴의 광채를 보므로 모세가 여호와께 말하러 들어가기까지 다시 수건으로 자기 얼굴을 가렸더라

요한복음 13 장.

요13:1 유월절 전에 예수께서 자기가 세상을 떠나 아버지께로 돌아가실 때가 이른 줄 아시고 세상에 있는 자기 사람들을 사랑하시되 끝까지 사랑하시니라

요13:2 마귀가 벌써 시몬의 아들 가룟 유다의 마음에 예수를 팔려는 생각을 넣었더니

요13:3 저녁 먹는 중 예수는 아버지께서 모든 것을 자기 손에 맡기신 것과 또 자기가 하나님께로부터 오셨다가 하나님께로 돌아가실 것을 아시고

요13:4 저녁 잡수시던 자리에서 일어나 겉옷을 벗고 수건을 가져다가 허리에 두르시고

요13:5 이에 대야에 물을 떠서 제자들의 발을 씻으시고 그 두르신 수건으로 닦기를 시작하여

요13:6 시몬 베드로에게 이르시니 베드로가 이르되 주여 주께서 내 발을 씻으시나이까

요13:7 예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 내가 하는 것을 네가 지금은 알지 못하나 이후에는 알리라

요13:8 베드로가 이르되 내 발을 절대로 씻지 못하시리이다 예수께서 대답하시되 내가 너를 씻어 주지 아니하면 네가 나와 상관이 없느니라

요13:9 시몬 베드로가 이르되 주여 내 발뿐 아니라 손과 머리도 씻어 주옵소서

요13:10 예수께서 이르시되 이미 목욕한 자는 발밖에 씻을 필요가 없느니라 온 몸이 깨끗하니라 너희가 깨끗하나 다는 아니니라 하시니

요13:11 이는 자기를 팔 자가 누구인지 아심이라 그러므로 다는 깨끗하지 아니하다 하시니라

요13:12 그들의 발을 씻으신 후에 옷을 입으시고 다시 앉아 그들에게 이르시되 내가 너희에게 행한 것을 너희가 아느냐

요13:13 너희가 나를 선생이라 또는 주라 하니 너희 말이 옳도다 내가 그러하다

요13:14 내가 주와 또는 선생이 되어 너희 발을 씻었으니 너희도 서로 발을 씻어 주는 것이 옳으니라

요13:15 내가 너희에게 행한 것 같이 너희도 행하게 하려 하여 본을 보였노라

요13:16 내가 진실로 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 종이 주인보다 크지 못하고 보냄을 받은 자가 보낸 자보다 크지 못하나니

요13:17 너희가 이것을 알고 행하면 복이 있으리라

요13:18 내가 너희 모두를 가리켜 말하는 것이 아니니라 나는 내가 택한 자들이 누구인지 앎이라 그러나 내 떡을 먹는 자가 내게 발꿈치를 들었다 한 성경을 응하게 하려는 것이니라

요13:19 지금부터 일이 일어나기 전에 미리 너희에게 일러둠은 일이 일어날 때에 내가 그인 줄 너희가 믿게 하려 함이로라

요13:20 내가 진실로 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 내가 보낸 자를 영접하는 자는 나를 영접하는 것이요 나를 영접하는 자는 나를 보내신 이를 영접하는 것이니라

요13:21 예수께서 이 말씀을 하시고 심령에 괴로워 증언하여 이르시되 내가 진실로 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 너희 중 하나가 나를 팔리라 하시니

요13:22 제자들이 서로 보며 누구에게 대하여 말씀하시는지 의심하더라

요13:23 예수의 제자 중 하나 곧 그가 사랑하시는 자가 예수의 품에 의지하여 누웠는지라

요13:24 시몬 베드로가 머릿짓을 하여 말하되 말씀하신 자가 누구인지 말하라 하니

요13:25 그가 예수의 가슴에 그대로 의지하여 말하되 주여 누구니이까

요13:26 예수께서 대답하시되 내가 떡 한 조각을 적셔다 주는 자가 그니라 하시고 곧 한 조각을 적셔서 가룟 시몬의 아들 유다에게 주시니

요13:27 조각을 받은 후 곧 사탄이 그 속에 들어간지라 이에 예수께서 유다에게 이르시되 네 하는 일을 속히 하라 하시니

요13:28 이 말씀을 무슨 뜻으로 하셨는지 그 앉은 자 중에 아는 자가 없고

요13:29 어떤 이들은 유다가 돈궤를 맡았으므로 명절에 우리가 쓸 물건을 사라 하시는지 혹은 가난한 자들에게 무엇을 주라 하시는 줄로 생각하더라

요13:30 유다가 그 조각을 받고 곧 나가니 밤이러라

요13:31 그가 나간 후에 예수께서 이르시되 지금 인자가 영광을 받았고 하나님도 인자로 말미암아 영광을 받으셨도다

요13:32 만일 하나님이 그로 말미암아 영광을 받으셨으면 하나님도 자기로 말미암아 그에게 영광을 주시리니 곧 주시리라

요13:33 작은 자들아 내가 아직 잠시 너희와 함께 있겠노라 너희가 나를 찾을 것이나 일찍이 내가 유대인들에게 너희는 내가 가는 곳에 올 수 없다고 말한 것과 같이 지금 너희에게도 이르노라

요13:34 새 계명을 너희에게 주노니 서로 사랑하라 내가 너희를 사랑한 것 같이 너희도 서로 사랑하라

요13:35 너희가 서로 사랑하면 이로써 모든 사람이 너희가 내 제자인 줄 알리라

요13:36 시몬 베드로가 이르되 주여 어디로 가시나이까 예수께서 대답하시되 내가 가는 곳에 네가 지금은 따라올 수 없으나 후에는 따라 오리라

요13:37 베드로가 이르되 주여 내가 지금은 어찌하여 따라갈 수 없나이까 주를 위하여 내 목숨을 버리겠나이다

요13:38 예수께서 대답하시되 네가 나를 위하여 네 목숨을 버리겠느냐 내가 진실로 진실로 네게 이르노니 닭 울기 전에 네가 세 번 나를 부인하리라

잠언 10 장.

잠10:1 솔로몬의 잠언이라 지혜로운 아들은 아비를 기쁘게 하거니와 미련한 아들은 어미의 근심이니라

잠10:2 불의의 재물은 무익하여도 공의는 죽음에서 건지느니라

잠10:3 여호와께서 의인의 영혼은 주리지 않게 하시나 악인의 소욕은 물리치시느니라

잠10:4 손을 게으르게 놀리는 자는 가난하게 되고 손이 부지런한 자는 부하게 되느니라

잠10:5 여름에 거두는 자는 지혜로운 아들이나 추수 때에 자는 자는 부끄러움을 끼치는 아들이니라

잠10:6 의인의 머리에는 복이 임하나 악인의 입은 독을 머금었느니라

잠10:7 의인을 기념할 때에는 칭찬하거니와 악인의 이름은 썩게 되느니라

잠10:8 마음이 지혜로운 자는 계명을 받거니와 입이 미련한 자는 멸망하리라

잠10:9 바른 길로 행하는 자는 걸음이 평안하려니와 굽은 길로 행하는 자는 드러나리라

잠10:10 눈짓하는 자는 근심을 끼치고 입이 미련한 자는 멸망하느니라

잠10:11 의인의 입은 생명의 샘이라도 악인의 입은 독을 머금었느니라

잠10:12 미움은 다툼을 일으켜도 사랑은 모든 허물을 가리느니라

잠10:13 명철한 자의 입술에는 지혜가 있어도 지혜 없는 자의 등을 위하여는 채찍이 있느니라

잠10:14 지혜로운 자는 지식을 간직하거니와 미련한 자의 입은 멸망에 가까우니라

잠10:15 부자의 재물은 그의 견고한 성이요 가난한 자의 궁핍은 그의 멸망이니라

잠10:16 의인의 수고는 생명에 이르고 악인의 소득은 죄에 이르느니라

잠10:17 훈계를 지키는 자는 생명 길로 행하여도 징계를 버리는 자는 그릇 가느니라

잠10:18 미움을 감추는 자는 거짓된 입술을 가진 자요 중상하는 자는 미련한 자이니라

잠10:19 말이 많으면 허물을 면하기 어려우나 그 입술을 제어하는 자는 지혜가 있느니라

잠10:20 의인의 혀는 순은과 같거니와 악인의 마음은 가치가 적으니라

잠10:21 의인의 입술은 여러 사람을 교육하나 미련한 자는 지식이 없어 죽느니라

잠10:22 여호와께서 주시는 복은 사람을 부하게 하고 근심을 겸하여 주지 아니하시느니라

잠10:23 미련한 자는 행악으로 낙을 삼는 것 같이 명철한 자는 지혜로 낙을 삼느니라

잠10:24 악인에게는 그의 두려워하는 것이 임하거니와 의인은 그 원하는 것이 이루어지느니라

잠10:25 회오리바람이 지나가면 악인은 없어져도 의인은 영원한 기초 같으니라

잠10:26 게으른 자는 그 부리는 사람에게 마치 이에 식초 같고 눈에 연기 같으니라

잠10:27 여호와를 경외하면 장수하느니라 그러나 악인의 수명은 짧아지느니라

잠10:28 의인의 소망은 즐거움을 이루어도 악인의 소망은 끊어지느니라

잠10:29 여호와의 도가 정직한 자에게는 산성이요 행악하는 자에게는 멸망이니라

잠10:30 의인은 영영히 이동되지 아니하여도 악인은 땅에 거하지 못하게 되느니라

잠10:31 의인의 입은 지혜를 내어도 패역한 혀는 베임을 당할 것이니라

잠10:32 의인의 입술은 기쁘게 할 것을 알거늘 악인의 입은 패역을 말하느니라

에베소서 3 장.

엡3:1 이러므로 그리스도 예수의 일로 너희 이방인을 위하여 갇힌 자 된 나 바울이 말하거니와

엡3:2 너희를 위하여 내게 주신 하나님의 그 은혜의 경륜을 너희가 들었을 터이라

엡3:3 곧 계시로 내게 비밀을 알게 하신 것은 내가 먼저 간단히 기록함과 같으니

엡3:4 그것을 읽으면 내가 그리스도의 비밀을 깨달은 것을 너희가 알 수 있으리라

엡3:5 이제 그의 거룩한 사도들과 선지자들에게 성령으로 나타내신 것같이 다른 세대에서는 사람의 아들들에게 알리지 아니하셨으니

엡3:6 이는 이방인들이 복음으로 말미암아 그리스도 예수 안에서 함께 상속자가 되고 함께 지체가 되고 함께 약속에 참여하는 자가 됨이라

엡3:7 이 복음을 위하여 그의 능력이 역사하시는 대로 내게 주신 하나님의 은혜의 선물을 따라 내가 일꾼이 되었노라

엡3:8 모든 성도 중에 지극히 작은 자보다 더 작은 나에게 이 은혜를 주신 것은 측량할 수 없는 그리스도의 풍성함을 이방인에게 전하게 하시고

엡3:9 영원부터 만물을 창조하신 하나님 속에 감추어졌던 비밀의 경륜이 어떠한 것을 드러내게 하려 하심이라

엡3:10 이는 이제 교회로 말미암아 하늘에서 있는 통치자들과 권세들에게 하나님의 각종 지혜를 알게 하려 하심이니

엡3:11 곧 영원부터 우리 주 그리스도 예수 안에서 예정하신 뜻대로 하신 것이라

엡3:12 우리가 그 안에서 그를 믿음으로 말미암아 담대함과 확신을 가지고 하나님께 나아감을 얻느니라

엡3:13 그러므로 너희에게 구하노니 너희를 위한 나의 여러 환난에 대하여 낙심하지 말라 이는 너희의 영광이니라

엡3:14 이러하므로 내가 하늘과 땅에 있는 각 족속에게

엡3:15 이름을 주신 아버지 앞에 무릎을 꿇고 비노니

엡3:16 그의 영광의 풍성함을 따라 그의 성령으로 말미암아 너희 속사람을 능력으로 강건하게 하시오며

엡3:17 믿음으로 말미암아 그리스도께서 너희 마음에 계시게 하시옵고 너희가 사랑 가운데서 뿌리가 박히고 터가 굳어져서

엡3:18 능히 모든 성도와 함께 지식에 넘치는 그리스도의 사랑을 알고

엡3:19 그 너비와 길이와 높이와 깊이가 어떠함을 깨달아 하나님의 모든 충만하신 것으로 너희에게 충만하게 하시기를 구하노라

엡3:20 우리 가운데서 역사하시는 능력대로 우리가 구하거나 생각하는 모든 것에 더 넘치도록 능히 하실 이에게

엡3:21 교회 안에서와 그리스도 예수 안에서 영광이 대대로 영원무궁하기를 원하노라 아멘

Exodus 34.

34:1 The LORD said to Moses, "Chisel out two stone tablets like the first ones, and I will write on them the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke.

34:2 Be ready in the morning, and then come up on Mount Sinai. Present yourself to me there on top of the mountain.

34:3 No one is to come with you or be seen anywhere on the mountain; not even the flocks and herds may graze in front of the mountain."

34:4 So Moses chiseled out two stone tablets like the first ones and went up Mount Sinai early in the morning, as the LORD had commanded him; and he carried the two stone tablets in his hands.

34:5 Then the LORD came down in the cloud and stood there with him and proclaimed his name, the LORD.

34:6 And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, "The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness,

34:7 maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation."

34:8 Moses bowed to the ground at once and worshiped.

34:9 "O Lord, if I have found favor in your eyes," he said, "then let the Lord go with us. Although this is a stiff-necked people, forgive our wickedness and our sin, and take us as your inheritance."

34:10 Then the LORD said: "I am making a covenant with you. Before all your people I will do wonders never before done in any nation in all the world. The people you live among will see how awesome is the work that I, the LORD, will do for you.

34:11 Obey what I command you today. I will drive out before you the Amorites, Canaanites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites.

34:12 Be careful not to make a treaty with those who live in the land where you are going, or they will be a snare among you.

34:13 Break down their altars, smash their sacred stones and cut down their Asherah poles.

34:14 Do not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.

34:15 "Be careful not to make a treaty with those who live in the land; for when they prostitute themselves to their gods and sacrifice to them, they will invite you and you will eat their sacrifices.

34:16 And when you choose some of their daughters as wives for your sons and those daughters prostitute themselves to their gods, they will lead your sons to do the same.

34:17 "Do not make cast idols.

34:18 "Celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread. For seven days eat bread made without yeast, as I commanded you. Do this at the appointed time in the month of Abib, for in that month you came out of Egypt.

34:19 "The first offspring of every womb belongs to me, including all the firstborn males of your livestock, whether from herd or flock.

34:20 Redeem the firstborn donkey with a lamb, but if you do not redeem it, break its neck. Redeem all your firstborn sons. "No one is to appear before me empty-handed.

34:21 "Six days you shall labor, but on the seventh day you shall rest; even during the plowing season and harvest you must rest.

34:22 "Celebrate the Feast of Weeks with the firstfruits of the wheat harvest, and the Feast of Ingathering at the turn of the year.

34:23 Three times a year all your men are to appear before the Sovereign LORD, the God of Israel.

34:24 I will drive out nations before you and enlarge your territory, and no one will covet your land when you go up three times each year to appear before the LORD your God.

34:25 "Do not offer the blood of a sacrifice to me along with anything containing yeast, and do not let any of the sacrifice from the Passover Feast remain until morning.

34:26 "Bring the best of the firstfruits of your soil to the house of the LORD your God. "Do not cook a young goat in its mother's milk."

34:27 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Write down these words, for in accordance with these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel."

34:28 Moses was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights without eating bread or drinking water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant--the Ten Commandments.

34:29 When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the Testimony in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the LORD.

34:30 When Aaron and all the Israelites saw Moses, his face was radiant, and they were afraid to come near him.

34:31 But Moses called to them; so Aaron and all the leaders of the community came back to him, and he spoke to them.

34:32 Afterward all the Israelites came near him, and he gave them all the commands the LORD had given him on Mount Sinai.

34:33 When Moses finished speaking to them, he put a veil over his face.

34:34 But whenever he entered the LORD'S presence to speak with him, he removed the veil until he came out. And when he came out and told the Israelites what he had been commanded,

34:35 they saw that his face was radiant. Then Moses would put the veil back over his face until he went in to speak with the LORD.

John 13.

13:1 It was just before the Passover Feast. Jesus knew that the time had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he now showed them the full extent of his love.

13:2 The evening meal was being served, and the devil had already prompted Judas Iscariot, son of Simon, to betray Jesus.

13:3 Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God;

13:4 so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist.

13:5 After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples' feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.

13:6 He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, "Lord, are you going to wash my feet?"

13:7 Jesus replied, "You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand."

13:8 "No," said Peter, "you shall never wash my feet." Jesus answered, "Unless I wash you, you have no part with me."

13:9 "Then, Lord," Simon Peter replied, "not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!"

13:10 Jesus answered, "A person who has had a bath needs only to wash his feet; his whole body is clean. And you are clean, though not every one of you."

13:11 For he knew who was going to betray him, and that was why he said not every one was clean.

13:12 When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. "Do you understand what I have done for you?" he asked them.

13:13 "You call me 'Teacher' and 'Lord,' and rightly so, for that is what I am.

13:14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's feet.

13:15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.

13:16 I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.

13:17 Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

13:18 "I am not referring to all of you; I know those I have chosen. But this is to fulfill the scripture: 'He who shares my bread has lifted up his heel against me.'

13:19 "I am telling you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe that I am He.

13:20 I tell you the truth, whoever accepts anyone I send accepts me; and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me."

13:21 After he had said this, Jesus was troubled in spirit and testified, "I tell you the truth, one of you is going to betray me."

13:22 His disciples stared at one another, at a loss to know which of them he meant.

13:23 One of them, the disciple whom Jesus loved, was reclining next to him.

13:24 Simon Peter motioned to this disciple and said, "Ask him which one he means."

13:25 Leaning back against Jesus, he asked him, "Lord, who is it?"

13:26 Jesus answered, "It is the one to whom I will give this piece of bread when I have dipped it in the dish." Then, dipping the piece of bread, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, son of Simon.

13:27 As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him. "What you are about to do, do quickly," Jesus told him,

13:28 but no one at the meal understood why Jesus said this to him.

13:29 Since Judas had charge of the money, some thought Jesus was telling him to buy what was needed for the Feast, or to give something to the poor.

13:30 As soon as Judas had taken the bread, he went out. And it was night.

13:31 When he was gone, Jesus said, "Now is the Son of Man glorified and God is glorified in him.

13:32 If God is glorified in him, God will glorify the Son in himself, and will glorify him at once.

13:33 "My children, I will be with you only a little longer. You will look for me, and just as I told the Jews, so I tell you now: Where I am going, you cannot come.

13:34 "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

13:35 By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

13:36 Simon Peter asked him, "Lord, where are you going?" Jesus replied, "Where I am going, you cannot follow now, but you will follow later."

13:37 Peter asked, "Lord, why can't I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you."

13:38 Then Jesus answered, "Will you really lay down your life for me? I tell you the truth, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times!

Proverbs 10.

10:1 The proverbs of Solomon: A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish son grief to his mother.

10:2 Ill-gotten treasures are of no value, but righteousness delivers from death.

10:3 The LORD does not let the righteous go hungry but he thwarts the craving of the wicked.

10:4 Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth.

10:5 He who gathers crops in summer is a wise son, but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son.

10:6 Blessings crown the head of the righteous, but violence overwhelms the mouth of the wicked.

10:7 The memory of the righteous will be a blessing, but the name of the wicked will rot.

10:8 The wise in heart accept commands, but a chattering fool comes to ruin.

10:9 The man of integrity walks securely, but he who takes crooked paths will be found out.

10:10 He who winks maliciously causes grief, and a chattering fool comes to ruin.

10:11 The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life, but violence overwhelms the mouth of the wicked.

10:12 Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers over all wrongs.

10:13 Wisdom is found on the lips of the discerning, but a rod is for the back of him who lacks judgment.

10:14 Wise men store up knowledge, but the mouth of a fool invites ruin.

10:15 The wealth of the rich is their fortified city, but poverty is the ruin of the poor.

10:16 The wages of the righteous bring them life, but the income of the wicked brings them punishment.

10:17 He who heeds discipline shows the way to life, but whoever ignores correction leads others astray.

10:18 He who conceals his hatred has lying lips, and whoever spreads slander is a fool.

10:19 When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise.

10:20 The tongue of the righteous is choice silver, but the heart of the wicked is of little value.

10:21 The lips of the righteous nourish many, but fools die for lack of judgment.

10:22 The blessing of the LORD brings wealth, and he adds no trouble to it.

10:23 A fool finds pleasure in evil conduct, but a man of understanding delights in wisdom.

10:24 What the wicked dreads will overtake him; what the righteous desire will be granted.

10:25 When the storm has swept by, the wicked are gone, but the righteous stand firm forever.

10:26 As vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes, so is a sluggard to those who send him.

10:27 The fear of the LORD adds length to life, but the years of the wicked are cut short.

10:28 The prospect of the righteous is joy, but the hopes of the wicked come to nothing.

10:29 The way of the LORD is a refuge for the righteous, but it is the ruin of those who do evil.

10:30 The righteous will never be uprooted, but the wicked will not remain in the land.

10:31 The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, but a perverse tongue will be cut out.

10:32 The lips of the righteous know what is fitting, but the mouth of the wicked only what is perverse. PRO

Ephesians 3.

3:1 For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles--

3:2 Surely you have heard about the administration of God's grace that was given to me for you,

3:3 that is, the mystery made known to me by revelation, as I have already written briefly.

3:4 In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ,

3:5 which was not made known to men in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God's holy apostles and prophets.

3:6 This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.

3:7 I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God's grace given me through the working of his power.

3:8 Although I am less than the least of all God's people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,

3:9 and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things.

3:10 His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms,

3:11 according to his eternal purpose which he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.

3:12 In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.

3:13 I ask you, therefore, not to be discouraged because of my sufferings for you, which are your glory.

3:14 For this reason I kneel before the Father,

3:15 from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name.

3:16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being,

3:17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love,

3:18 may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ,

3:19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

3:20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,

3:21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
