출애굽기 2 장.

출2:1 레위 가족 중 한 사람이 가서 레위 여자에게 장가 들어

출2:2 그 여자가 임신하여 아들을 낳으니 그가 잘 생긴 것을 보고 석 달 동안 그를 숨겼으나

출2:3 더 숨길 수 없게 되매 그를 위하여 갈대 상자를 가져다가 역청과 나무 진을 칠하고 아기를 거기 담아 나일 강 가 갈대 사이에 두고

출2:4 그의 누이가 어떻게 되는지를 알려고 멀리 섰더니

출2:5 바로의 딸이 목욕하러 나일 강으로 내려오고 시녀들은 나일 강 가를 거닐 때에 그가 갈대 사이의 상자를 보고 시녀를 보내어 가져다가

출2:6 열고 그 아기를 보니 아기가 우는지라 그가 그를 불쌍히 여겨 이르되 이는 히브리 사람의 아기로다

출2:7 그의 누이가 바로의 딸에게 이르되 내가 가서 당신을 위하여 히브리 여인 중에서 유모를 불러다가 이 아기에게 젖을 먹이게 하리이까

출2:8 바로의 딸이 그에게 이르되 가라 하매 그 소녀가 가서 그 아기의 어머니를 불러오니

출2:9 바로의 딸이 그에게 이르되 이 아기를 데려다가 나를 위하여 젖을 먹이라 내가 그 삯을 주리라 여인이 아기를 데려다가 젖을 먹이더니

출2:10 그 아기가 자라매 바로의 딸에게로 데려가니 그가 그의 아들이 되니라 그가 그의 이름을 모세라 하여 이르되 이는 내가 그를 물에서 건져내었음이라 하였더라

출2:11 모세가 장성한 후에 한번은 자기 형제들에게 나가서 그들이 고되게 노동하는 것을 보더니 어떤 애굽 사람이 한 히브리 사람 곧 자기 형제를 치는 것을 본지라

출2:12 좌우를 살펴 사람이 없음을 보고 그 애굽 사람을 쳐죽여 모래 속에 감추니라

출2:13 이튿날 다시 나가니 두 히브리 사람이 서로 싸우는지라 그 잘못한 사람에게 이르되 네가 어찌하여 동포를 치느냐 하매

출2:14 그가 이르되 누가 너를 우리를 다스리는 자와 재판관으로 삼았느냐 네가 애굽 사람을 죽인 것처럼 나도 죽이려느냐 모세가 두려워하여 이르되 일이 탄로되었도다

출2:15 바로가 이 일을 듣고 모세를 죽이고자 하여 찾는지라 모세가 바로의 낯을 피하여 미디안 땅에 머물며 하루는 우물 곁에 앉았더라

출2:16 미디안 제사장에게 일곱 딸이 있었더니 그들이 와서 물을 길어 구유에 채우고 그들의 아버지의 양 떼에게 먹이려 하는데

출2:17 목자들이 와서 그들을 쫓는지라 모세가 일어나 그들을 도와 그 양 떼에게 먹이니라

출2:18 그들이 그들의 아버지 르우엘에게 이를 때에 아버지가 이르되 너희가 오늘은 어찌하여 이같이 속히 돌아오느냐

출2:19 그들이 이르되 한 애굽 사람이 우리를 목자들의 손에서 건져내고 우리를 위하여 물을 길어 양 떼에게 먹였나이다

출2:20 아버지가 딸들에게 이르되 그 사람이 어디에 있느냐 너희가 어찌하여 그 사람을 버려두고 왔느냐 그를 청하여 음식을 대접하라 하였더라

출2:21 모세가 그와 동거하기를 기뻐하매 그가 그의 딸 십보라를 모세에게 주었더니

출2:22 그가 아들을 낳으매 모세가 그의 이름을 게르솜이라 하여 이르되 내가 타국에서 나그네가 되었음이라 하였더라

출2:23 여러 해 후에 애굽 왕은 죽었고 이스라엘 자손은 고된 노동으로 말미암아 탄식하며 부르짖으니 그 고된 노동으로 말미암아 부르짖는 소리가 하나님께 상달된지라

출2:24 하나님이 그들의 고통 소리를 들으시고 하나님이 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱에게 세운 그의 언약을 기억하사

출2:25 하나님이 이스라엘 자손을 돌보셨고 하나님이 그들을 기억하셨더라

누가복음 5 장.

눅5:1 무리가 몰려와서 하나님의 말씀을 들을새 예수는 게네사렛 호숫가에 서서

눅5:2 호숫가에 배 두 척이 있는 것을 보시니 어부들은 배에서 나와서 그물을 씻는지라

눅5:3 예수께서 한 배에 오르시니 그 배는 시몬의 배라 육지에서 조금 떼기를 청하시고 앉으사 배에서 무리를 가르치시더니

눅5:4 말씀을 마치시고 시몬에게 이르시되 깊은 데로 가서 그물을 내려 고기를 잡으라

눅5:5 시몬이 대답하여 이르되 선생님 우리들이 밤이 새도록 수고하였으되 잡은 것이 없지마는 말씀에 의지하여 내가 그물을 내리리이다 하고

눅5:6 그렇게 하니 고기를 잡은 것이 심히 많아 그물이 찢어지는지라

눅5:7 이에 다른 배에 있는 동무들에게 손짓하여 와서 도와 달라 하니 그들이 와서 두 배에 채우매 잠기게 되었더라

눅5:8 시몬 베드로가 이를 보고 예수의 무릎 아래에 엎드려 이르되 주여 나를 떠나소서 나는 죄인이로소이다 하니

눅5:9 이는 자기및 자기와 함께 있는 모든 사람이 고기 잡힌 것으로 말미암아 놀라고

눅5:10 세베대의 아들로서 시몬의 동업자인 야고보와 요한도 놀랐음이라 예수께서 시몬에게 이르시되 무서워하지 말라 이제 후로는 네가 사람을 취하리라 하시니

눅5:11 그들이 배들을 육지에 대고 모든 것을 버려 두고 예수를 따르니라

눅5:12 예수께서 한 동네에 계실 때에 온 몸에 나병 들린 사람이 있어 예수를 보고 엎드려 구하여 이르되 주여 원하시면 나를 깨끗하게 하실 수 있나이다 하니

눅5:13 예수께서 손을 내밀어 그에게 대시며 이르시되 내가 원하노니 깨끗함을 받으라 하신대 나병이 곧 떠나니라

눅5:14 예수께서 그를 경고하시되 아무에게도 이르지 말고 가서 제사장에게 네 몸을 보이고 또 네가 깨끗하게 됨으로 인하여 모세가 명한 대로 예물을 드려 그들에게 입증하라 하셨더니

눅5:15 예수의 소문이 더욱 퍼지매 수많은 무리가 말씀도 듣고 자기 병도 고침을 받고자 하여 모여 오되

눅5:16 예수는 물러가사 한적한 곳에서 기도하시니라

눅5:17 하루는 가르치실 때에 갈릴리의 각 마을과 유대와 예루살렘에서 온 바리새인과 율법교사들이 앉았는데 병을 고치는 주의 능력이 예수와 함께 하더라

눅5:18 한 중풍병자를 사람들이 침상에 메고 와서 예수 앞에 들여놓고자 하였으나

눅5:19 무리 때문에 메고 들어갈 길을 얻지 못한지라 지붕에 올라가 기와를 벗기고 병자를 침상째 무리 가운데로 예수 앞에 달아 내리니

눅5:20 예수께서 그들의 믿음을 보시고 이르시되 이 사람아 네 죄 사함을 받았느니라 하시니

눅5:21 서기관과 바리새인들이 생각하여 이르되 이 신성 모독 하는 자가 누구냐 오직 하나님 외에 누가 능히 죄를 사하겠느냐

눅5:22 예수께서 그 생각을 아시고 대답하여 이르시되 너희 마음에 무슨 생각을 하느냐

눅5:23 네 죄 사함을 받았느니라 하는 말과 일어나 걸어가라 하는 말이 어느 것이 쉽겠느냐

눅5:24 그러나 인자가 땅에서 죄를 사하는 권세가 있는 줄을 너희로 알게 하리라 하시고 중풍병자에게 말씀하시되 내가 네게 이르노니 일어나 네 침상을 가지고 집으로 가라 하시매

눅5:25 그 사람이 그들 앞에서 곧 일어나 그 누웠던 것을 가지고 하나님께 영광을 돌리며 자기 집으로 돌아가니

눅5:26 모든 사람이 놀라 하나님께 영광을 돌리며 심히 두려워하여 이르되 오늘날 우리가 놀라운 일을 보았다 하니라

눅5:27 그 후에 예수께서 나가사 레위라 하는 세리가 세관에 앉아 있는 것을 보시고 나를 따르라 하시니

눅5:28 그가 모든 것을 버리고 일어나 따르니라

눅5:29 레위가 예수를 위하여 자기 집에서 큰 잔치를 하니 세리와 다른 사람이 많이 함께 앉아 있는지라

눅5:30 바리새인과 그들의 서기관들이 그 제자들을 비방하여 이르되 너희가 어찌하여 세리와 죄인과 함께 먹고 마시느냐

눅5:31 예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 건강한 자에게는 의사가 쓸 데 없고 병든 자에게라야 쓸 데 있나니

눅5:32 내가 의인을 부르러 온 것이 아니요 죄인을 불러 회개시키러 왔노라

눅5:33 그들이 예수께 말하되 요한의 제자는 자주 금식하며 기도하고 바리새인의 제자들도 또한 그리하되 당신의 제자들은 먹고 마시나이다

눅5:34 예수께서 그들에게 이르시되 혼인 집 손님들이 신랑과 함께 있을 때에 너희가 그 손님으로 금식하게 할 수 있느냐

눅5:35 그러나 그 날에 이르러 그들이 신랑을 빼앗기리니 그 날에는 금식할 것이니라

눅5:36 또 비유하여 이르시되 새 옷에서 한 조각을 찢어 낡은 옷에 붙이는 자가 없나니 만일 그렇게 하면 새 옷을 찢을 뿐이요 또 새 옷에서 찢은 조각이 낡은 것에 어울리지 아니하리라

눅5:37 새 포도주를 낡은 가죽 부대에 넣는 자가 없나니 만일 그렇게 하면 새 포도주가 부대를 터뜨려 포도주가 쏟아지고 부대도 못쓰게 되리라

눅5:38 새 포도주는 새 부대에 넣어야 할 것이니라

눅5:39 묵은 포도주를 마시고 새 것을 원하는 자가 없나니 이는 묵은 것이 좋다 함이니라

욥기 19 장.

욥19:1 욥이 대답하여 이르되

욥19:2 너희가 내 마음을 괴롭히며 말로 나를 짓부수기를 어느 때까지 하겠느냐

욥19:3 너희가 열 번이나 나를 학대하고도 부끄러워 아니하는구나

욥19:4 비록 내게 허물이 있다 할지라도 그 허물이 내게만 있느냐

욥19:5 너희가 참으로 나를 향하여 자만하며 내게 수치스러운 행위가 있다고 증언하려면 하려니와

욥19:6 하나님이 나를 억울하게 하시고 자기 그물로 나를 에워싸신 줄을 알아야 할지니라

욥19:7 내가 폭행을 당한다고 부르짖으나 응답이 없고 도움을 간구하였으나 정의가 없구나

욥19:8 그가 내 길을 막아 지나가지 못하게 하시고 내 앞길에 어둠을 두셨으며

욥19:9 나의 영광을 거두어가시며 나의 관모를 머리에서 벗기시고

욥19:10 사면으로 나를 헐으시니 나는 죽었구나 내 희망을 나무 뽑듯 뽑으시고

욥19:11 나를 향하여 진노하시고 원수 같이 보시는구나

욥19:12 그 군대가 일제히 나아와서 길을 돋우고 나를 치며 내 장막을 둘러 진을 쳤구나

욥19:13 나의 형제들이 나를 멀리 떠나게 하시니 나를 아는 모든 사람이 내게 낯선 사람이 되었구나

욥19:14 내 친척은 나를 버렸으며 가까운 친지들은 나를 잊었구나

욥19:15 내 집에 머물러 사는 자와 내 여종들은 나를 낯선 사람으로 여기니 내가 그들 앞에서 타국 사람이 되었구나

욥19:16 내가 내 종을 불러도 대답하지 아니하니 내 입으로 그에게 간청하여야 하겠구나

욥19:17 내 아내도 내 숨결을 싫어하며 내 허리의 자식들도 나를 가련하게 여기는구나

욥19:18 어린 아이들까지도 나를 업신여기고 내가 일어나면 나를 조롱하는구나

욥19:19 나의 가까운 친구들이 나를 미워하며 내가 사랑하는 사람들이 돌이켜 나의 원수가 되었구나

욥19:20 내 피부와 살이 뼈에 붙었고 남은 것은 겨우 잇몸 뿐이로구나

욥19:21 나의 친구야 너희는 나를 불쌍히 여겨다오 나를 불쌍히 여겨다오 하나님의 손이 나를 치셨구나

욥19:22 너희가 어찌하여 하나님처럼 나를 박해하느냐 내 살로도 부족하냐

욥19:23 나의 말이 곧 기록되었으면, 책에 씌어졌으면,

욥19:24 철필과 납으로 영원히 돌에 새겨졌으면 좋겠노라

욥19:25 내가 알기에는 나의 대속자가 살아 계시니 마침내 그가 땅 위에 서실 것이라

욥19:26 내 가죽이 벗김을 당한 뒤에도 내가 육체 밖에서 하나님을 보리라

욥19:27 내가 그를 보리니 내 눈으로 그를 보기를 낯선 사람처럼 하지 않을 것이라 내 마음이 초조하구나

욥19:28 너희가 만일 이르기를 우리가 그를 어떻게 할까 하며 또 이르기를 일의 뿌리가 그에게 있다 할진대

욥19:29 너희는 칼을 두려워 할지니라 분노는 칼의 형벌을 부르나니 너희가 심판장이 있는 줄을 알게 되리라

고린도전서 6 장.

고전6:1 너희 중에 누가 다른 이와 더불어 다툼이 있는데 구태여 불의한 자들 앞에서 고발하고 성도 앞에서 하지 아니하느냐

고전6:2 성도가 세상을 판단할 것을 너희가 알지 못하느냐 세상도 너희에게 판단을 받겠거든 지극히 작은 일 판단하기를 감당하지 못하겠느냐

고전6:3 우리가 천사를 판단할 것을 너희가 알지 못하느냐 그러하거든 하물며 세상 일이랴

고전6:4 그런즉 너희가 세상 사건이 있을 때에 교회에서 경히 여김을 받는 자들을 세우느냐

고전6:5 내가 너희를 부끄럽게 하려 하여 이 말을 하노니 너희 가운데 그 형제간의 일을 판단할 만한 지혜있는 자가 이같이 하나도 없느냐

고전6:6 형제가 형제와 더불어 송사할 뿐더러 믿지 아니하는 자들 앞에서 하느냐

고전6:7 너희가 피차 고발 함으로 너희 가운데 이미 뚜렷한 허물이 있나니 차라리 불의를 당하는 것이 낫지 아니하며 차라리 속는 것이 낫지 아니하냐

고전6:8 너희는 불의를 행하고 속이는구나 그는 너희 형제로다

고전6:9 불의한 자가 하나님의 나라를 유업으로 받지 못할 줄을 알지 못하느냐 미혹을 받지 말라 음행하는 자나 우상 숭배하는 자나 간음하는 자나 탐색하는 자나 남색하는 자나

고전6:10 도적이나 탐욕을 부리는 자나 술취하는 자나 모욕하는 자나 속여 빼앗는 자들은 하나님의 나라를 유업으로 받지 못하리라

고전6:11 너희 중에 이와 같은 자들이 있더니 주 예수 그리스도의 이름과 우리 하나님의 성령 안에서 씻음과 거룩함과 의롭다 하심을 받았느니라

고전6:12 모든 것이 내게 가하나 다 유익한 것이 아니요 모든 것이 내게 가하나 내가 무엇에든지 얽매이지 아니하리라

고전6:13 음식은 배를 위하여 있고 배는 음식을 위하여 있으나 하나님은 이것 저것을 다 폐하시리라 몸은 음란을 위하여 있지 않고 오직 주를 위하여 있으며 주는 몸을 위하여 계시느니라

고전6:14 하나님이 주를 다시 살리셨고 또한 그의 권능으로 우리를 다시 살리시리라

고전6:15 너희 몸이 그리스도의 지체인 줄을 알지 못하느냐 내가 그리스도의 지체를 가지고 창녀의 지체를 만들겠느냐 결코 그럴 수 없느니라

고전6:16 창녀와 합하는 자는 그와 한 몸인 줄을 알지 못하느냐 일렀으되 둘이 한 육체가 된다 하셨나니

고전6:17 주와 합하는 자는 한 영이니라

고전6:18 음행을 피하라 사람이 범하는 죄마다 몸 밖에 있거니와 음행하는 자는 자기 몸에 죄를 범하느니라

고전6:19 너희 몸은 너희가 하나님께로부터 받은 바 너희 가운데 계신 성령의 전인 줄을 알지 못하느냐 너희는 너희 자신의 것이 아니라

고전6:20 값으로 산 것이 되었으니 그런즉 너희 몸으로 하나님께 영광을 돌리라

Exodus 2.

2:1 Now a man of the house of Levi married a Levite woman,

2:2 and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. When she saw that he was a fine child, she hid him for three months.

2:3 But when she could hide him no longer, she got a papyrus basket for him and coated it with tar and pitch. Then she placed the child in it and put it among the reeds along the bank of the Nile.

2:4 His sister stood at a distance to see what would happen to him.

2:5 Then Pharaoh's daughter went down to the Nile to bathe, and her attendants were walking along the river bank. She saw the basket among the reeds and sent her slave girl to get it.

2:6 She opened it and saw the baby. He was crying, and she felt sorry for him. "This is one of the Hebrew babies," she said.

2:7 Then his sister asked Pharaoh's daughter, "Shall I go and get one of the Hebrew women to nurse the baby for you?"

2:8 "Yes, go," she answered. And the girl went and got the baby's mother.

2:9 Pharaoh's daughter said to her, "Take this baby and nurse him for me, and I will pay you." So the woman took the baby and nursed him.

2:10 When the child grew older, she took him to Pharaoh's daughter and he became her son. She named him Moses, saying, "I drew him out of the water."

2:11 One day, after Moses had grown up, he went out to where his own people were and watched them at their hard labor. He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his own people.

2:12 Glancing this way and that and seeing no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.

2:13 The next day he went out and saw two Hebrews fighting. He asked the one in the wrong, "Why are you hitting your fellow Hebrew?"

2:14 The man said, "Who made you ruler and judge over us? Are you thinking of killing me as you killed the Egyptian?" Then Moses was afraid and thought, "What I did must have become known."

2:15 When Pharaoh heard of this, he tried to kill Moses, but Moses fled from Pharaoh and went to live in Midian, where he sat down by a well.

2:16 Now a priest of Midian had seven daughters, and they came to draw water and fill the troughs to water their father's flock.

2:17 Some shepherds came along and drove them away, but Moses got up and came to their rescue and watered their flock.

2:18 When the girls returned to Reuel their father, he asked them, "Why have you returned so early today?"

2:19 They answered, "An Egyptian rescued us from the shepherds. He even drew water for us and watered the flock."

2:20 "And where is he?" he asked his daughters. "Why did you leave him? Invite him to have something to eat."

2:21 Moses agreed to stay with the man, who gave his daughter Zipporah to Moses in marriage.

2:22 Zipporah gave birth to a son, and Moses named him Gershom, saying, "I have become an alien in a foreign land."

2:23 During that long period, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out, and their cry for help because of their slavery went up to God.

2:24 God heard their groaning and he remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob.

2:25 So God looked on the Israelites and was concerned about them.

Luke 5.

5:1 One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret, with the people crowding around him and listening to the word of God,

5:2 he saw at the water's edge two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets.

5:3 He got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from shore. Then he sat down and taught the people from the boat.

5:4 When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, "Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch."

5:5 Simon answered, "Master, we've worked hard all night and haven't caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets."

5:6 When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break.

5:7 So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink.

5:8 When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus' knees and said, "Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!"

5:9 For he and all his companions were astonished at the catch of fish they had taken,

5:10 and so were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, Simon's partners. Then Jesus said to Simon, "Don't be afraid; from now on you will catch men."

5:11 So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him.

5:12 While Jesus was in one of the towns, a man came along who was covered with leprosy. When he saw Jesus, he fell with his face to the ground and begged him, "Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean."

5:13 Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!" And immediately the leprosy left him.

5:14 Then Jesus ordered him, "Don't tell anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them."

5:15 Yet the news about him spread all the more, so that crowds of people came to hear him and to be healed of their sicknesses.

5:16 But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.

5:17 One day as he was teaching, Pharisees and teachers of the law, who had come from every village of Galilee and from Judea and Jerusalem, were sitting there. And the power of the Lord was present for him to heal the sick.

5:18 Some men came carrying a paralytic on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus.

5:19 When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus.

5:20 When Jesus saw their faith, he said, "Friend, your sins are forgiven."

5:21 The Pharisees and the teachers of the law began thinking to themselves, "Who is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone?"

5:22 Jesus knew what they were thinking and asked, "Why are you thinking these things in your hearts?

5:23 Which is easier: to say, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up and walk'?

5:24 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins...." He said to the paralyzed man, "I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home."

5:25 Immediately he stood up in front of them, took what he had been lying on and went home praising God.

5:26 Everyone was amazed and gave praise to God. They were filled with awe and said, "We have seen remarkable things today."

5:27 After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector by the name of Levi sitting at his tax booth. "Follow me," Jesus said to him,

5:28 and Levi got up, left everything and followed him.

5:29 Then Levi held a great banquet for Jesus at his house, and a large crowd of tax collectors and others were eating with them.

5:30 But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law who belonged to their sect complained to his disciples, "Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and 'sinners'?"

5:31 Jesus answered them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.

5:32 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."

5:33 They said to him, "John's disciples often fast and pray, and so do the disciples of the Pharisees, but yours go on eating and drinking."

5:34 Jesus answered, "Can you make the guests of the bridegroom fast while he is with them?

5:35 But the time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them; in those days they will fast."

5:36 He told them this parable: "No one tears a patch from a new garment and sews it on an old one. If he does, he will have torn the new garment, and the patch from the new will not match the old.

5:37 And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins, the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined.

5:38 No, new wine must be poured into new wineskins.

5:39 And no one after drinking old wine wants the new, for he says, 'The old is better.'"

Job 19.

19:1 Then Job replied:

19:2 "How long will you torment me and crush me with words?

19:3 Ten times now you have reproached me; shamelessly you attack me.

19:4 If it is true that I have gone astray, my error remains my concern alone.

19:5 If indeed you would exalt yourselves above me and use my humiliation against me,

19:6 then know that God has wronged me and drawn his net around me.

19:7 "Though I cry, 'I've been wronged!' I get no response; though I call for help, there is no justice.

19:8 He has blocked my way so I cannot pass; he has shrouded my paths in darkness.

19:9 He has stripped me of my honor and removed the crown from my head.

19:10 He tears me down on every side till I am gone; he uproots my hope like a tree.

19:11 His anger burns against me; he counts me among his enemies.

19:12 His troops advance in force; they build a siege ramp against me and encamp around my tent.

19:13 "He has alienated my brothers from me; my acquaintances are completely estranged from me.

19:14 My kinsmen have gone away; my friends have forgotten me.

19:15 My guests and my maidservants count me a stranger; they look upon me as an alien.

19:16 I summon my servant, but he does not answer, though I beg him with my own mouth.

19:17 My breath is offensive to my wife; I am loathsome to my own brothers.

19:18 Even the little boys scorn me; when I appear, they ridicule me.

19:19 All my intimate friends detest me; those I love have turned against me.

19:20 I am nothing but skin and bones; I have escaped with only the skin of my teeth.

19:21 "Have pity on me, my friends, have pity, for the hand of God has struck me.

19:22 Why do you pursue me as God does? Will you never get enough of my flesh?

19:23 "Oh, that my words were recorded, that they were written on a scroll,

19:24 that they were inscribed with an iron tool on lead, or engraved in rock forever!

19:25 I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand upon the earth.

19:26 And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God;

19:27 I myself will see him with my own eyes--I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!

19:28 "If you say, 'How we will hound him, since the root of the trouble lies in him,'

19:29 you should fear the sword yourselves; for wrath will bring punishment by the sword, and then you will know that there is judgment."

1 Corinthians 6.

6:1 If any of you has a dispute with another, dare he take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the saints?

6:2 Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases?

6:3 Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life!

6:4 Therefore, if you have disputes about such matters, appoint as judges even men of little account in the church!

6:5 I say this to shame you. Is it possible that there is nobody among you wise enough to judge a dispute between believers?

6:6 But instead, one brother goes to law against another--and this in front of unbelievers!

6:7 The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated?

6:8 Instead, you yourselves cheat and do wrong, and you do this to your brothers.

6:9 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders

6:10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

6:11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

6:12 "Everything is permissible for me"--but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible for me"--but I will not be mastered by anything.

6:13 "Food for the stomach and the stomach for food"--but God will destroy them both. The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.

6:14 By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also.

6:15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never!

6:16 Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, "The two will become one flesh."

6:17 But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit.

6:18 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body.

6:19 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;

6:20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.
