창세기 48 장.

창48:1 이 일 후에 어떤 사람이 요셉에게 말하기를 네 아버지가 병들었다 하므로 그가 곧 두 아들 므낫세와 에브라임과 함께 이르니

창48:2 어떤 사람이 야곱에게 말하되 네 아들 요셉이 네게 왔다 하매 이스라엘이 힘을 내어 침상에 앉아

창48:3 요셉에게 이르되 이전에 가나안 땅 루스에서 전능하신 하나님이 내게 나타나사 복을 주시며

창48:4 내게 이르시되 내가 너로 생육하고 번성하게 하여 네게서 많은 백성이 나게 하고 내가 이 땅을 네 후손에게 주어 영원한 소유가 되게 하리라 하셨느니라

창48:5 내가 애굽으로 와서 네게 이르기 전에 애굽에서 네가 낳은 두 아들 에브라임과 므낫세는 내 것이라 르우벤과 시므온처럼 내 것이 될 것이요

창48:6 이들 후의 네 소생은 네 것이 될 것이며 그들의 유산은 그들의 형의 이름으로 함께 받으리라

창48:7 내게 대하여는 내가 이전에 밧단에서 올 때에 라헬이 나를 따르는 도중 가나안 땅에서 죽었는데 그 곳은 에브랏까지 길이 아직도 먼 곳이라 내가 거기서 그를 에브랏 길에 장사하였느니라 (에브랏은 곧 베들레헴이라)

창48:8 이스라엘이 요셉의 아들들을 보고 이르되 이들은 누구냐

창48:9 요셉이 그의 아버지에게 아뢰되 이는 하나님이 여기서 내게 주신 아들들이니이다 아버지가 이르되 그들을 데리고 내 앞으로 나아오라 내가 그들에게 축복하리라

창48:10 이스라엘의 눈이 나이로 말미암아 어두워서 보지 못하더라 요셉이 두 아들을 이끌어 아버지 앞으로 나아가니 이스라엘이 그들에게 입맞추고 그들을 안고

창48:11 요셉에게 이르되 내가 네 얼굴을 보리라고는 생각하지 못하였더니 하나님이 내게 내 자손까지도 보게 하셨도다

창48:12 요셉이 아버지의 무릎 사이에서 두 아들을 물러나게 하고 땅에 엎드려 절하고

창48:13 오른손으로는 에브라임을 이스라엘의 왼손을 향하게 하고 왼손으로는 므낫세를 이스라엘의 오른손을 향하게 하여 이끌어 그에게 가까이 나아가매

창48:14 이스라엘이 오른손을 펴서 차남 에브라임의 머리에 얹고 왼손을 펴서 므낫세의 머리에 얹으니 므낫세는 장자라도 팔을 엇바꾸어 얹었더라

창48:15 그가 요셉을 위하여 축복하여 이르되 내 조부 아브라함과 아버지 이삭이 섬기던 하나님, 나의 출생으로부터 지금까지 나를 기르신 하나님,

창48:16 나를 모든 환난에서 건지신 여호와의 사자께서 이 아이들에게 복을 주시오며 이들로 내 이름과 내 조상 아브라함과 이삭의 이름으로 칭하게 하시오며 이들이 세상에서 번식되게 하시기를 원하나이다

창48:17 요셉이 그 아버지가 오른손을 에브라임의 머리에 얹은 것을 보고 기뻐하지 아니하여 아버지의 손을 들어 에브라임의 머리에서 므낫세의 머리로 옮기고자하여

창48:18 그의 아버지에게 이르되 아버지여 그리 마옵소서 이는 장자이니 오른손을 그의 머리에 얹으소서 하였으나

창48:19 그의 아버지가 허락하지 아니하며 이르되 나도 안다 내 아들아 나도 안다 그도 한 족속이 되며 그도 크게 되려니와 그의 아우가 그보다 큰 자가 되고 그의 자손이 여러 민족을 이루리라 하고

창48:20 그 날에 그들에게 축복하여 이르되 이스라엘이 너로 말미암아 축복하기를 하나님이 네게 에브라임 같고 므낫세 같게 하시리라 하며 에브라임을 므낫세보다 앞세웠더라

창48:21 이스라엘이 요셉에게 또 이르되 나는 죽으나 하나님이 너희와 함께 계시사 너희를 인도하여 너희 조상의 땅으로 돌아가게 하시려니와

창48:22 내가 네게 네 형제보다 세겜 땅을 더 주었나니 이는 내가 내 칼과 활로 아모리 족속의 손에서 빼앗은 것이니라

누가복음 1 장 39-80.

눅1:39 이 때에 마리아가 일어나 빨리 산골로 가서 유대 한 동네에 이르러

눅1:40 사가랴의 집에 들어가 엘리사벳에게 문안하니

눅1:41 엘리사벳이 마리아의 문안함을 들으매 아이가 복중에서 뛰노는지라 엘리사벳이 성령의 충만함을 받아

눅1:42 큰 소리로 불러 이르되 여자 중에 네가 복이 있으며 네 태중의 아이도 복이 있도다

눅1:43 내 주의 어머니가 내게 나아오니 이 어찌 된 일인가

눅1:44 보라 네 문안하는 소리가 내 귀에 들릴 때에 아이가 내 복중에서 기쁨으로 뛰놀았도다

눅1:45 주께서 하신 말씀이 반드시 이루어지리라고 믿은 그 여자에게 복이 있도다

눅1:46 마리아가 이르되 내 영혼이 주를 찬양하며

눅1:47 내 마음이 하나님 내 구주를 기뻐하였음은

눅1:48 그의 여종의 비천함을 돌보셨음이라 보라 이제 후로는 만세에 나를 복이 있다 일컬으리로다

눅1:49 능하신 이가 큰 일을 내게 행하셨으니 그 이름이 거룩하시며

눅1:50 긍휼하심이 두려워하는 자에게 대대로 이르는도다

눅1:51 그의 팔로 힘을 보이사 마음의 생각이 교만한 자들을 흩으셨고

눅1:52 권세있는 자를 그 위에서 내리치셨으며 비천한 자를 높이셨고

눅1:53 주리는 자를 좋은 것으로 배불리셨으며 부자는 빈 손으로 보내셨도다

눅1:54 그 종 이스라엘을 도우사 긍휼히 여기시고 기억하시되

눅1:55 우리 조상에게 말씀하신 것과 같이 아브라함과 및 그 자손에게 영원히 하시리로다 하니라

눅1:56 마리아가 석 달쯤 함께 있다가 집으로 돌아가니라

눅1:57 엘리사벳이 해산할 기한이 차서 아들을 낳으니

눅1:58 이웃과 친족이 주께서 그를 크게 긍휼히 여기심을 듣고 함께 즐거워 하더라

눅1:59 팔 일이 되매 아이를 할례하러 와서 그 아버지의 이름을 따라 사가랴라 하고자 하더니

눅1:60 그 어머니가 대답하여 이르되 아니라 요한이라 할 것이라 하매

눅1:61 그들이 이르되 네 친족 중에 이 이름으로 이름한 이가 없다 하고

눅1:62 그의 아버지께 몸짓하여 무엇으로 이름을 지으려 하는가 물으니

눅1:63 저가 서판을 달라 하여 그 이름을 요한이라 쓰매 다 놀랍게 여기더라

눅1:64 이에 그 입이 곧 열리고 혀가 풀리며 말을 하여 하나님을 찬송하니

눅1:65 그 근처에 사는 자가 다 두려워하고 이 모든 말이 온 유대 산골에 두루 퍼지매

눅1:66 듣는 사람이 다 이 말을 마음에 두며 이르되 이 아이가 장차 어찌 될까 하니 이는 주의 손이 그와 함께 하심이러라

눅1:67 그 부친 사가랴가 성령의 충만함을 받아 예언하여 이르되

눅1:68 찬송하리로다 주 이스라엘의 하나님이여 그 백성을 돌아보사 속량하시며

눅1:69 우리를 위하여 구원의 뿔을 그 종 다윗의 집에 일으키셨으니

눅1:70 이것은 주께서 예로부터 거룩한 선지자의 입으로 말씀하신 바와 같이

눅1:71 우리 원수에게서와 우리를 미워하는 모든 자의 손에서 구원하시는 일이라

눅1:72 우리 조상을 긍휼히 여기시며 그 거룩한 언약을 기억하셨으니

눅1:73 곧 우리 조상 아브라함에게 하신 맹세라

눅1:74 우리가 원수의 손에서 건지심을 입고

눅1:75 종신토록 주의 앞에서 성결과 의로 두려움이 없이 섬기게 하리라 하셨도다

눅1:76 이 아이여 네가 지극히 높으신 이의 선지자라 일컬음을 받고 주 앞에 앞서 가서 그 길을 준비하여

눅1:77 주의 백성에게 그 죄 사함으로 말미암는 구원을 알게 하리니

눅1:78 이는 우리 하나님의 긍휼로 인함이라 이로써 돋는 해가 위로부터 우리에게 임하여

눅1:79 어둠과 죽음의 그늘에 앉은 자에게 비치고 우리 발을 평강의 길로 인도하시리로다 하니라

눅1:80 아이가 자라며 심령이 강하여지며 이스라엘에게 나타나는 날까지 빈 들에 있으니라

욥기 14 장.

욥14:1 여인에게서 태어난 사람은 생애가 짧고 걱정이 가득하며

욥14:2 그는 꽃과 같이 자라나서 시들며 그림자 같이 지나가며 머물지 아니하거늘

욥14:3 이와 같은 자를 주께서 눈여겨보시나이까

욥14:4 누가 깨끗한 것을 더러운 것 가운데에서 낼 수 있으리이까 하나도 없나이다

욥14:5 그의 날을 정하셨고 그의 달 수도 주께 있으므로 그의 규례를 정하여 넘어가지 못하게 하셨사온즉

욥14:6 그에게서 눈을 돌이켜 그가 품꾼 같이 그의 날을 마칠 때까지 그를 홀로 있게 하옵소서

욥14:7 나무는 희망이 있나니 찍힐지라도 다시 움이 나서 연한 가지가 끊이지 아니하며

욥14:8 그 뿌리가 땅에서 늙고 줄기가 흙에서 죽을지라도

욥14:9 물 기운에 움이 돋고 가지가 뻗어서 새로 심은 것과 같거니와

욥14:10 장정이라도 죽으면 소멸되나니 인생이 숨을 거두면 그가 어디 있느냐

욥14:11 물이 바다에서 줄어들고 강물이 잦아서 마름 같이

욥14:12 사람이 누우면 다시 일어나지 못하고 하늘이 없어지기까지 눈을 뜨지 못하며 잠을 깨지 못하느니라

욥14:13 주는 나를 스올에 감추시며 주의 진노를 돌이키실 때까지 나를 숨기시고 나를 위하여 규례를 정하시고 나를 기억하옵소서

욥14:14 장정이라도 죽으면 어찌 다시 살리이까 나는 나의 모든 고난의 날 동안을 참으면서 풀려나기를 기다리겠나이다

욥14:15 주께서는 나를 부르시겠고 나는 대답하겠나이다 주께서는 주의 손으로 지으신 것을 기다리시겠나이다

욥14:16 그러하온데 이제 주께서 나의 걸음을 세시오니 나의 죄를 감찰하지 아니하시나이까

욥14:17 주는 내 허물을 주머니에 봉하시고 내 죄악을 싸매시나이다

욥14:18 무너지는 산은 반드시 흩어지고 바위는 그 자리에서 옮겨가고

욥14:19 물은 돌을 닳게 하고 넘치는 물은 땅의 티끌을 씻어버리나이다 이와 같이 주께서는 사람의 희망을 끊으시나이다

욥14:20 주께서 사람을 영원히 이기셔서 떠나게 하시며 그의 얼굴 빛을 변하게 하시고 쫓아보내시오니

욥14:21 그의 아들들이 존귀하게 되어도 그가 알지 못하며 그들이 비천하게 되어도 그가 깨닫지 못하나이다

욥14:22 다만 그의 살이 아프고 그의 영혼이 애곡할 뿐이니라

고린도전서 2 장.

고전2:1 형제들아 내가 너희에게 나아가 하나님의 증거를 전할 때에 말과 지혜의 아름다운 것으로 아니하였나니

고전2:2 내가 너희 중에서 예수 그리스도와 그의 십자가에 못 박히신 것 외에는 아무 것도 알지 아니하기로 작정하였음이라

고전2:3 내가 너희 가운데 거할 때에 약하고 두려워하고 심히 떨었노라

고전2:4 내 말과 내 전도함이 설득력 있는 지혜의 말로 하지 아니하고 다만 성령의 나타남과 능력으로 하여

고전2:5 너희 믿음이 사람의 지혜에 있지 아니하고 다만 하나님의 능력에 있게 하려 하였노라

고전2:6 그러나 우리가 온전한 자들 중에서는 지혜를 말하노니 이는 이 세상의 지혜가 아니요 또 이 세상에서 없어질 통치자들의 지혜도 아니요

고전2:7 오직 은밀한 가운데 있는 하나님의 지혜를 말하는 것으로서 곧 감추어졌던 것인데 하나님이 우리의 영광을 위하여 만세 전에 미리 정하신 것이라

고전2:8 이 지혜는 이 세대의 통치자들이 한 사람도 알지 못하였나니 만일 알았더라면 영광의 주를 십자가에 못 박지 아니하였으리라

고전2:9 기록된 바 하나님이 자기를 사랑하는 자들을 위하여 예비하신 모든 것은 눈으로 보지 못하고 귀로 듣지 못하고 사람의 마음으로 생각하지도 못하였다 함과 같으니라

고전2:10 오직 하나님이 성령으로 이것을 우리에게 보이셨으니 성령은 모든 것 곧 하나님의 깊은 것까지도 통달하시느니라

고전2:11 사람의 일을 사람의 속에 있는 영 외에 누가 알리요 이와 같이 하나님의 일도 하나님의 영 외에는 아무도 알지 못하느니라

고전2:12 우리가 세상의 영을 받지 아니하고 오직 하나님으로부터 온 영을 받았으니 이는 우리로 하여금 하나님께서 우리에게 은혜로 주신 것들을 알게 하려 하심이라

고전2:13 우리가 이것을 말하거니와 사람의 지혜가 가르친 말로 아니하고 오직 성령께서 가르치신 것으로 하니 영적인 일은 영적인 것으로 분별하느니라

고전2:14 육에 속한 사람은 하나님의 성령의 일들을 받지 아니하나니 이는 그것들이 그에게는 어리석게 보임이요, 또 그는 그것들을 알 수도 없나니 그러한 일은 영적으로 분별되기 때문이라

고전2:15 신령한 자는 모든 것을 판단하나 자기는 아무에게도 판단을 받지 아니하느니라

고전2:16 누가 주의 마음을 알아서 주를 가르치겠느냐 그러나 우리가 그리스도의 마음을 가졌느니라

Genesis 48.

48:1 Some time later Joseph was told, "Your father is ill." So he took his two sons Manasseh and Ephraim along with him.

48:2 When Jacob was told, "Your son Joseph has come to you," Israel rallied his strength and sat up on the bed.

48:3 Jacob said to Joseph, "God Almighty appeared to me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and there he blessed me

48:4 and said to me, 'I am going to make you fruitful and will increase your numbers. I will make you a community of peoples, and I will give this land as an everlasting possession to your descendants after you.'

48:5 "Now then, your two sons born to you in Egypt before I came to you here will be reckoned as mine; Ephraim and Manasseh will be mine, just as Reuben and Simeon are mine.

48:6 Any children born to you after them will be yours; in the territory they inherit they will be reckoned under the names of their brothers.

48:7 As I was returning from Paddan, to my sorrow Rachel died in the land of Canaan while we were still on the way, a little distance from Ephrath. So I buried her there beside the road to Ephrath" (that is, Bethlehem).

48:8 When Israel saw the sons of Joseph, he asked, "Who are these?"

48:9 "They are the sons God has given me here," Joseph said to his father. Then Israel said, "Bring them to me so I may bless them."

48:10 Now Israel's eyes were failing because of old age, and he could hardly see. So Joseph brought his sons close to him, and his father kissed them and embraced them.

48:11 Israel said to Joseph, "I never expected to see your face again, and now God has allowed me to see your children too."

48:12 Then Joseph removed them from Israel's knees and bowed down with his face to the ground.

48:13 And Joseph took both of them, Ephraim on his right toward Israel's left hand and Manasseh on his left toward Israel's right hand, and brought them close to him.

48:14 But Israel reached out his right hand and put it on Ephraim's head, though he was the younger, and crossing his arms, he put his left hand on Manasseh's head, even though Manasseh was the firstborn.

48:15 Then he blessed Joseph and said, "May the God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the God who has been my shepherd all my life to this day,

48:16 the Angel who has delivered me from all harm--may he bless these boys. May they be called by my name and the names of my fathers Abraham and Isaac, and may they increase greatly upon the earth."

48:17 When Joseph saw his father placing his right hand on Ephraim's head he was displeased; so he took hold of his father's hand to move it from Ephraim's head to Manasseh's head.

48:18 Joseph said to him, "No, my father, this one is the firstborn; put your right hand on his head."

48:19 But his father refused and said, "I know, my son, I know. He too will become a people, and he too will become great. Nevertheless, his younger brother will be greater than he, and his descendants will become a group of nations."

48:20 He blessed them that day and said, "In your name will Israel pronounce this blessing: 'May God make you like Ephraim and Manasseh.'" So he put Ephraim ahead of Manasseh.

48:21 Then Israel said to Joseph, "I am about to die, but God will be with you and take you back to the land of your fathers.

48:22 And to you, as one who is over your brothers, I give the ridge of land I took from the Amorites with my sword and my bow."

Luke 1 39-80.

1:39 At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea,

1:40 where she entered Zechariah's home and greeted Elizabeth.

1:41 When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.

1:42 In a loud voice she exclaimed: "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear!

1:43 But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

1:44 As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy.

1:45 Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished!"

1:46 And Mary said: "My soul glorifies the Lord

1:47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,

1:48 for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed,

1:49 for the Mighty One has done great things for me--holy is his name.

1:50 His mercy extends to those who fear him, from generation to generation.

1:51 He has performed mighty deeds with his arm; he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts.

1:52 He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble.

1:53 He has filled the hungry with good things but has sent the rich away empty.

1:54 He has helped his servant Israel, remembering to be merciful

1:55 to Abraham and his descendants forever, even as he said to our fathers."

1:56 Mary stayed with Elizabeth for about three months and then returned home.

1:57 When it was time for Elizabeth to have her baby, she gave birth to a son.

1:58 Her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown her great mercy, and they shared her joy.

1:59 On the eighth day they came to circumcise the child, and they were going to name him after his father Zechariah,

1:60 but his mother spoke up and said, "No! He is to be called John."

1:61 They said to her, "There is no one among your relatives who has that name."

1:62 Then they made signs to his father, to find out what he would like to name the child.

1:63 He asked for a writing tablet, and to everyone's astonishment he wrote, "His name is John."

1:64 Immediately his mouth was opened and his tongue was loosed, and he began to speak, praising God.

1:65 The neighbors were all filled with awe, and throughout the hill country of Judea people were talking about all these things.

1:66 Everyone who heard this wondered about it, asking, "What then is this child going to be?" For the Lord's hand was with him.

1:67 His father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied:

1:68 "Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has come and has redeemed his people.

1:69 He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David

1:70 (as he said through his holy prophets of long ago),

1:71 salvation from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us--

1:72 to show mercy to our fathers and to remember his holy covenant,

1:73 the oath he swore to our father Abraham:

1:74 to rescue us from the hand of our enemies, and to enable us to serve him without fear

1:75 in holiness and righteousness before him all our days.

1:76 And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High; for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him,

1:77 to give his people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins,

1:78 because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven

1:79 to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace."

1:80 And the child grew and became strong in spirit; and he lived in the desert until he appeared publicly to Israel.

Job 14.

14:1 "Man born of woman is of few days and full of trouble.

14:2 He springs up like a flower and withers away; like a fleeting shadow, he does not endure.

14:3 Do you fix your eye on such a one? Will you bring him before you for judgment?

14:4 Who can bring what is pure from the impure? No one!

14:5 Man's days are determined; you have decreed the number of his months and have set limits he cannot exceed.

14:6 So look away from him and let him alone, till he has put in his time like a hired man.

14:7 "At least there is hope for a tree: If it is cut down, it will sprout again, and its new shoots will not fail.

14:8 Its roots may grow old in the ground and its stump die in the soil,

14:9 yet at the scent of water it will bud and put forth shoots like a plant.

14:10 But man dies and is laid low; he breathes his last and is no more.

14:11 As water disappears from the sea or a riverbed becomes parched and dry,

14:12 so man lies down and does not rise; till the heavens are no more, men will not awake or be roused from their sleep.

14:13 "If only you would hide me in the grave and conceal me till your anger has passed! If only you would set me a time and then remember me!

14:14 If a man dies, will he live again? All the days of my hard service I will wait for my renewal to come.

14:15 You will call and I will answer you; you will long for the creature your hands have made.

14:16 Surely then you will count my steps but not keep track of my sin.

14:17 My offenses will be sealed up in a bag; you will cover over my sin.

14:18 "But as a mountain erodes and crumbles and as a rock is moved from its place,

14:19 as water wears away stones and torrents wash away the soil, so you destroy man's hope.

14:20 You overpower him once for all, and he is gone; you change his countenance and send him away.

14:21 If his sons are honored, he does not know it; if they are brought low, he does not see it.

14:22 He feels but the pain of his own body and mourns only for himself."

1 Corinthians 2.

2:1 When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God.

2:2 For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.

2:3 I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling.

2:4 My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power,

2:5 so that your faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power.

2:6 We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.

2:7 No, we speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began.

2:8 None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

2:9 However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him"--

2:10 but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.

2:11 For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.

2:12 We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.

2:13 This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.

2:14 The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

2:15 The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgment:

2:16 "For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.
