역대상 26 장.

대상26:1 고라 사람들의 문지기 반들은 이러하니라 아삽의 가문 중 고레의 아들 므셀레먀라

대상26:2 므셀레먀의 아들들인 맏아들 스가랴와 둘째 여디야엘과 셋째 스바댜와 넷째 야드니엘과

대상26:3 다섯째 엘람과 여섯째 여호하난과 일곱째 엘여호에내이며

대상26:4 오벧에돔의 아들들은 맏아들 스마야와 둘째 여호사밧과 셋째 요아와 넷째 사갈과 다섯째 느다넬과

대상26:5 여섯째 암미엘과 일곱째 잇사갈과 여덟째 브울래대이니 이는 하나님이 오벧에돔에게 복을 주셨음이라

대상26:6 그의 아들 스마야도 두어 아들을 낳았으니 그들의 조상의 가문을 다스리는 자요 큰 용사라

대상26:7 스마야의 아들들은 오드니와 르바엘과 오벳과 엘사밧이며 엘사밧의 형제 엘리후와 스마갸는 능력이 있는 자이니

대상26:8 이는 다 오벧에돔의 자손이라 그들과 그의 아들들과 그의 형제들은 다 능력이 있어 그 직무를 잘 하는 자이니 오벧에돔에게서 난자가 육십이 명이며

대상26:9 또 므셀레먀의 아들과 형제 열여덟 명은 능력이 있는 자라

대상26:10 므라리 자손 중 호사에게도 아들들이 있으니 그의 장자는 시므리라 시므리는 본래 맏아들이 아니나 그의 아버지가 장자로 삼았고

대상26:11 둘째는 힐기야요 셋째는 드발리야요 넷째는 스가랴이니 호사의 아들들과 형제들이 열세 명이더라

대상26:12 이상은 다 문지기의 반장으로서 그 형제처럼 직임을 얻어 여호와의 성전에서 섬기는 자들이라

대상26:13 각 문을 지키기 위하여 그의 조상의 가문을 따라 대소를 막론하고 다 제비 뽑혔으니

대상26:14 셀레먀는 동쪽을 뽑았고 그의 아들 스가랴는 명철한 모사라 모사를 위하여 제비 뽑으니 북쪽을 뽑았고

대상26:15 오벧에돔은 남쪽을 뽑았고 그의 아들들은 곳간에 뽑혔으며

대상26:16 숩빔과 호사는 서방을 뽑아 큰길로 통한 살래겟 문 곁에 있어 서로 대하여 파수하였으니

대상26:17 동쪽 문에 레위 사람이 여섯이요 북쪽 문에 매일 네 사람이요 남쪽 문에 매일 네 사람이요 곳간에는 둘씩이며

대상26:18 서쪽 뜰에 있는 큰 길에 네 사람 그리고 뜰에 두 사람이라

대상26:19 고라와 므라리 자손의 문지기의 직책은 이러하였더라

대상26:20 레위 사람 중에 아히야는 하나님의 전 곳간과 성물 곳간을 맡았으며

대상26:21 라단의 자손은 곧 라단에게 속한 게르손 사람의 자손이니 게르손 사람 라단에게 속한 가문의 우두머리는 여히엘리라

대상26:22 여히엘리의 아들들은 스담과 그의 아우 요엘이니 여호와의 성전 곳간을 맡았고

대상26:23 아므람 자손과 이스할 자손과 헤브론 자손과 웃시엘 자손 중에

대상26:24 모세의 아들 게르솜의 자손 스브엘은 곳간을 맡았고

대상26:25 그의 형제 곧 엘리에셀에게서 난 자는 그의 아들 르하바와 그의 아들 여사야와 그의 아들 요람과 그의 아들 시그리와 그의 아들 슬로못이라

대상26:26 이 슬로못과 그의 형제는 성물의 모든 곳간을 맡았으니 곧 다윗 왕과 가문의 우두머리와 천부장과 백부장과 군대의 모든 지휘관이 구별하여 드린 성물이라

대상26:27 그들이 싸울 때에 노략하여 얻은 물건 중에서 구별하여 드려 여호와의 성전을 개수한 일과

대상26:28 선견자 사무엘과 기스의 아들 사울과 넬의 아들 아브넬과 스루야의 아들 요압이 무엇이든지 구별하여 드린 성물은 다 슬로못과 그의 형제의 지휘를 받았더라

대상26:29 이스할 자손 중에 그나냐와 그의 아들들은 성전 밖에서 이스라엘의 일을 다스리는 관원과 재판관이 되었고

대상26:30 헤브론 자손 중에 하사바와 그의 동족 용사 천 칠백 명은 요단 서쪽에서 이스라엘을 주관하여 여호와의 모든 일과 왕을 섬기는 직임을 맡았으며

대상26:31 헤브론 자손 중에서는 여리야가 그의 족보와 종족대로 헤브론 자손의 우두머리가 되었더라 다윗이 왕 위에 있은 지 사십 년에 길르앗 야셀에서 그들 중에 구하여 큰 용사를 얻었으니

대상26:32 그의 형제 중 이천칠백 명이 다 용사요 가문의 우두머리라 다윗 왕이 그들로 르우벤과 갓과 므낫세 반 지파를 주관하여 하나님의 모든 일과 왕의 일을 다스리게 하였더라

역대상 27 장.

대상27:1 이스라엘 자손의 모든 가문의 우두머리와 천부장과 백부장과 왕을 섬기는 관원들이 그들이 숫자대로 반이 나누이니 각 반열이 이만 사천 명씩이라 일 년 동안 달마다 들어가며 나왔으니

대상27:2 첫째 달 반의 반장은 삽디엘의 아들 야소브암이요 그의 반에 이만 사천 명이라

대상27:3 그는 베레스의 자손으로서 첫째 달 반의 모든 지휘관의 우두머리가 되었고

대상27:4 둘째 달 반의 반장은 아호아 사람 도대요 또 미글롯이 그의 반의 주장이 되었으니 그의 반에 이만 사천명이요

대상27:5 셋째 달 군대의 셋째 지휘관은 대제사장 여호야다의 아들 브나야요 그의 반에 이만 사천명이라

대상27:6 이 브나야는 삼십 명 중에 용사요 삼십 명 위에 있으며 그의 반 중에 그의 아들 암미사밧이 있으며

대상27:7 넷째 달 넷째 지휘관은 요압의 아우 아사헬이요 그 다음은 그의 아들 스바댜이니 그의 반에 이만 사천 명이요

대상27:8 다섯째 달 다섯째 지휘관은 이스라 사람 삼훗이니 그의 반에 이만 사천 명이요

대상27:9 여섯째 달 여섯째 지휘관은 드고아 사람 익게스의 아들 이라이니 그의 반에 이만 사천 명이요

대상27:10 일곱째 달 일곱째 지휘관은 에브라임 자손에 속한 발론 사람 헬 레스이니 그의 반에 이만 사천 명이요

대상27:11 여덟째 달 여덟째 지휘관은 세라 족속 후사 사람 십브개이니 그의 반에 이만 사천 명이요

대상27:12 아홉째 달 아홉째 지휘관은 베냐민 자손 아나돗 사람 아비에셀이니 그의 반에 이만 사천 명이요

대상27:13 열째 달 열째 지휘관은 세라 족속 느도바 사람 마하래이니 그의 반에 이만 사천 명이요

대상27:14 열한째 달 열한째 지휘관은 에브라임 자손에 속한 비라돈 사람 브나야이니 그의 반에 이만 사천 명이요

대상27:15 열두째 달 열두째 지휘관은 옷니엘 자손에 속한 느도바 사람 헬대니 그 반에 이만 사천 명이었더라

대상27:16 이스라엘 지파를 관할하는 자는 이러하니라 르우벤 사람의 지도자는 시그리의 아들 엘리에셀이요 시므온 사람의 지도자는 마아가의 아들 스바댜요

대상27:17 레위 사람의 지도자는 그무엘의 아들 하사뱌요 아론 자손의 지도자는 사독이요

대상27:18 유다의 지도자는 다윗의 형 엘리후요 잇사갈의 지도자는 미가엘의 아들 오므리요

대상27:19 스불론의 지도자는 오바댜의 아들 이스마야요 납달리의 지도자는 아스리엘의 아들 여레못이요

대상27:20 에브라임 자손의 지도자는 아사시야의 아들 호세아요 므낫세 반 지파의 지도자는 브다야의 아들 요엘이요

대상27:21 길르앗에 있는 므낫세 반 지파의 지도자는 스가랴의 아들 잇도요 베냐민의 지도자는 아브넬의 아들 야아시엘이요

대상27:22 단은 여로함의 아들 아사렐이니 이들은 이스라엘 지파의 지휘관이었더라

대상27:23 이스라엘 사람의 이십 세 이하의 수효는 다윗이 조사하지 아니하였으니 이는 여호와께서 전에 말씀하시기를 이스라엘 사람을 하늘의 별 같이 많게 하리라 하셨음이라

대상27:24 스루야의 아들 요압이 조사하기를 시작하고 끝내지도 못해서 그 일로 말미암아 진노가 이스라엘에게 임한지라 그 수효를 다윗 왕의 역대지략에 기록하지 아니하였더라

대상27:25 아디엘의 아들 아스마웻은 왕의 곳간을 맡았고 웃시야의 아들 요나단은 밭과 성읍과 마을과 망대의 곳간을 맡았고

대상27:26 글룹의 아들 에스리는 밭 가는 농민을 거느렸고

대상27:27 라마 사람 시므이는 포도원을 맡았고 스밤 사람 삽디는 포도원의 소산 포도주 곳간을 맡았고

대상27:28 게델 사람 바알하난은 평야의 감람나무와 뽕나무를 맡았고 요아스는 기름 곳간을 맡았고

대상27:29 사론 자람 시드래는 사론에서 먹이는 소 떼를 맡았고 아들래의 아들 사밧은 골짜기에 있는 소 떼를 맡았고

대상27:30 이스마엘 사람 오빌은 낙타를 맡았고 메로놋 사람 예드야는 나귀를 맡았고 하갈 사람 야시스는 양떼를 맡았으니

대상27:31 다윗 왕의 재산을 맡은 자들이 이러하였더라

대상27:32 다윗의 숙부 요나단은 지혜가 있어서 모사가 되며 서기관도 되었고 학모니의 아들 여히엘은 왕자들의 수종자가 되었고

대상27:33 아히도벨은 왕의 모사가 되었고 아렉 사람 후새는 왕의 벗이 되었고

대상27:34 브나야의 아들 여호야다와 아비아달은 아히도벨의 뒤를 이었고 요압은 왕의 군대 지휘관이 되었더라

베드로후서 1 장.

벧후1:1 예수 그리스도의 종이며 사도인 시몬 베드로는 우리 하나님과 구주 예수 그리스도의 의를 힘입어 동일하게 보배로운 믿음을 우리와 함께 받은 자들에게 편지하노니

벧후1:2 하나님과 우리 주 예수를 앎으로 은혜와 평강이 너희에게 더욱 많을지어다

벧후1:3 그의 신기한 능력으로 생명과 경건에 속한 모든 것을 우리에게 주셨으니 이는 자기의 영광과 덕으로써 우리를 부르신 이를 앎으로 말미암음이라

벧후1:4 이로써 그 보배롭고 지극히 큰 약속을 우리에게 주사 이 약속으로 말미암아 너희가 정욕 때문에 세상에서 썩어질 것을 피하여 신성한 성품에 참여하는 자가 되게 하려 하셨느니라

벧후1:5 그러므로 너희가 더욱 힘써 너희 믿음에 덕을, 덕에 지식을,

벧후1:6 지식에 절제를, 절제에 인내를, 인내에 경건을,

벧후1:7 경건에 형제 우애를, 형제 우애에 사랑을 더하라

벧후1:8 이런 것이 너희에게 있어 흡족한 즉 너희로 우리 주 예수 그리스도를 알기에 게으르지 않고 열매 없는 자가 되지 않게 하려니와

벧후1:9 이런 것이 없는 자는 맹인이라 멀리 보지 못하고 그의 옛 죄가 깨끗하게 된 것을 잊었느니라

벧후1:10 그러므로 형제들아 더욱 힘써 너희 부르심과 택하심을 굳게 하라 너희가 이것을 행한즉 언제든지 실족하지 아니하리라

벧후1:11 이같이 하면 우리 주 곧 구주 예수 그리스도의 영원한 나라에 들어감을 넉넉히 너희에게 주시리라

벧후1:12 그러므로 너희가 이것을 알고 이미 있는 진리에 서 있으나 내가 항상 너희에게 생각나게 하려 하노라

벧후1:13 내가 이 장막에 있을 동안에 너희를 일깨워 생각나게 함이 옳은 줄로 여기노니

벧후1:14 이는 우리 주 예수 그리스도께서 내게 지시하신 것 같이 나도 나의 장막을 벗어날 것이 임박한 줄을 앎이라

벧후1:15 내가 힘써 너희로 하여금 내가 떠난 후에라도 어느 때나 이런 것을 생각나게 하려 하노라

벧후1:16 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 능력과 강림하심을 너희에게 알게 한 것이 교묘히 만든 이야기를 따른 것이 아니요 우리는 그의 크신 위엄을 친히 본 자라

벧후1:17 지극히 큰 영광 중에서 이러한 소리가 그에게 나기를 이는 내 사랑하는 아들이요 내 기뻐하는 자라 하실 때에 그가 하나님 아버지께 존귀와 영광을 받으셨느니라

벧후1:18 이 소리는 우리가 그와 함께 거룩한 산에 있을 때에 하늘로부터 난 것을 들은 것이라

벧후1:19 또 우리에게는 더 확실한 예언이 있어 어두운 데를 비추는 등불과 같으니 날이 새어 샛별이 너희 마음에 떠오르기까지 너희가 이것을 주의하는 것이 옳으니라

벧후1:20 먼저 알 것은 성경의 모든 예언은 사사로이 풀 것이 아니니

벧후1:21 예언은 언제든지 사람의 뜻으로 낸 것이 아니요 오직 성령의 감동하심을 받은 사람들이 하나님께 받아 말한 것임이라

미가 4 장.

미4:1 끝날에 이르러는 여호와의 전의 산이 산들의 꼭대기에 굳게 서며 작은 산들 위에 뛰어 나고 민족들이 그리로 몰려갈 것이라

미4:2 곧 많은 이방 사람들이 가며 이르기를 오라 우리가 여호와의 산에 올라가서 야곱의 하나님의 전에 이르자 그가 그의 도를 가지고 우리에게 가르치실 것이니라 우리가 그의 길로 행하리라 하리니 이는 율법이 시온에서부터 나올 것이요 여호와의 말씀이 예루살렘에서부터 나올 것임이라

미4:3 그가 많은 민족들 사이의 일을 심판하시며 먼 곳 강한 이방 사람을 판결하시리니 무리가 그 칼을 쳐서 보습을 만들고 창을 쳐서 낫을 만들 것이며 이 나라와 저 나라가 다시는 칼을 들고 서로 치지 아니하며 다시는 전쟁을 연습하지 아니하고

미4:4 각 사람이 자기 포도나무 아래와 자기 무화과나무 아래에 앉을 것이라 그들을 두렵게 할 자가 없으리니 이는 만군의 여호와의 입이 이같이 말씀하셨음이라

미4:5 만민이 각각 자기의 신의 이름을 의지하여 행하되 오직 우리는 우리 하나님 여호와의 이름을 의지하여 영원히 행하리로다 하시더라

미4:6 여호와께서 말씀하시되 그 날에는 내가 저는 자를 모으며 쫓겨난 자와 내가 환난 받게 한 자를 모아

미4:7 발을 저는 자는 남은 백성이 되게 하며 멀리 쫓겨났던 자들이 강한 나라가 되게 하고 나 여호와가 시온 산에서 이제부터 영원까지 그들을 다스리리라 하셨나니

미4:8 너 양 떼의 망대요 딸 시온의 산이여 이전 권능 곧 딸 예루살렘의 나라가 네게로 돌아오리라

미4:9 이제 네가 어찌하여 부르짖느냐 너희 중에 왕이 없어졌고 네 모사가 죽었으므로 네가 해산하는 여인처럼 고통함이냐

미4:10 딸 시온이여 해산하는 여인처럼 힘들여 낳을지어다 이제 네가 성읍에서 나가서 들에 거주하며 또 바벨론까지 이르러 거기서 구원을 얻으리니 여호와께서 거기서 너를 네 원수들의 손에서 속량하여 내시리라

미4:11 이제 많은 이방 사람들이 모여서 너를 치며 이르기를 시온이 더럽게 되며 그것을 우리 눈으로 바라보기를 원하노라 하거니와

미4:12 그들이 여호와의 뜻을 알지 못하며 그의 계획을 깨닫지 못한 것이라 여호와께서 곡식 단을 타작 마당에 모음 같이 그들을 모으셨나니

미4:13 딸 시온이여 일어나서 칠지어다 내가 네 뿔을 무쇠 같게 하며 네 굽을 놋 같게 하리니 네가 여러 백성을 쳐서 깨뜨릴 것이라 내가 그들의 탈취물을 구별하여 여호와께 드리며 그들의 재물을 온 땅의 주께 돌리리라 하시더라

누가복음 13 장.

눅13:1 그 때 마침 두어 사람이 와서 빌라도가 어떤 갈릴리 사람들의 피를 그들의 제물에 섞은 일로 예수께 아뢰니

눅13:2 대답하여 이르시되 너희는 이 갈릴리 사람들이 이같이 해 받으므로 다른 모든 갈릴리 사람보다 죄가 더 있는 줄 아느냐

눅13:3 너희에게 이르노니 아니라 너희도 만일 회개하지 아니하면 다 이와 같이 망하리라

눅13:4 또 실로암에서 망대가 무너져 치어 죽은 열여덟 사람이 예루살렘에 거한 다른 모든 사람보다 죄가 더 있는 줄 아느냐

눅13:5 너희에게 이르노니 아니라 너희도 만일 회개하지 아니하면 다 이와 같이 망하리라

눅13:6 이에 비유로 말씀하시되 한 사람이 포도원에 무화과나무를 심은 것이 있더니 와서 그 열매를 구하였으나 얻지 못한지라

눅13:7 포도원지기에게 이르되 내가 삼 년을 와서 이 무화과나무에서 열매를 구하되 얻지 못하니 찍어버리라 어찌 땅만 버리게 하겠느냐

눅13:8 대답하여 이르되 주인이여 금년에도 그대로 두소서 내가 두루 파고 거름을 주리니

눅13:9 이후에 만일 열매가 열면 좋거니와 그렇지 않으면 찍어버리소서 하였다 하시니라

눅13:10 예수께서 안식일에 한 회당에서 가르치실 때에

눅13:11 열여덟 해 동안이나 귀신 들려 앓으며 꼬부라져 조금도 펴지 못하는 한 여자가 있더라

눅13:12 예수께서 보시고 불러 이르시되 여자여 네가 네 병에서 놓였다 하시고

눅13:13 안수하시니 여자가 곧 펴고 하나님께 영광을 돌리는지라

눅13:14 회당장이 예수께서 안식일에 병 고치시는 것을 분 내어 무리에게 이르되 일할 날이 엿새가 있으니 그 동안에 와서 고침을 받을 것이요 안식일에는 하지 말 것이니라 하거늘

눅13:15 주께서 대답하여 이르시되 외식하는 자들아 너희가 각각 안식일에 자기의 소나 나귀를 외양간에서 풀어내어 이끌고 가서 물을 먹이지 아니하느냐

눅13:16 그러면 열여덟 해 동안 사탄에게 매인 바 된 이 아브라함의 딸을 안식일에 이 매임에서 푸는 것이 합당하지 아니하냐

눅13:17 예수께서 이 말씀을 하시매 모든 반대하는 자들은 부끄러워하고 온 무리는 그가 하시는 모든 영광스러운 일을 기뻐하니라

눅13:18 그러므로 예수께서 이르시되 하나님의 나라가 무엇과 같을까 내가 무엇으로 비교할까

눅13:19 마치 사람이 자기 채소밭에 갖다 심은 겨자씨 한 알 같으니 자라 나무가 되어 공중의 새들이 그 가지에 깃들였느니라

눅13:20 또 이르시되 내가 하나님의 나라를 무엇으로 비교할까

눅13:21 마치 여자가 가루 서 말 속에 갖다 넣어 전부 부풀게 한 누룩과 같으니라 하셨더라

눅13:22 예수께서 각 성 각 마을으로 다니사 가르치시며 예루살렘으로 여행하시더니

눅13:23 어떤 사람이 여짜오되 주여 구원을 받는 자가 적으니이까 그들에게 이르시되

눅13:24 좁은 문으로 들어가기를 힘쓰라 내가 너희에게 이르노니 들어가기를 구하여도 못하는 자가 많으리라

눅13:25 집 주인이 일어나 문을 한 번 닫은 후에 너희가 밖에 서서 문을 두드리며 주여 열어 주소서 하면 그가 대답하여 이르되 나는 너희가 어디에서 온 자인지 알지 못하노라 하리니

눅13:26 그 때에 너희가 말하되 우리는 주 앞에서 먹고 마셨으며 주는 또한 우리를 길거리에서 가르치셨나이다 하나

눅13:27 저가 너희에게 말하여 이르되 나는 너희가 어디에서 왔는지 알지 못하노라 행악하는 모든 자들아 나를 떠나 가라 하리라

눅13:28 너희가 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱과 모든 선지자는 하나님 나라에 있고 오직 너희는 밖에 쫓겨난 것을 볼 때에 거기서 슬피 울며 이를 갈리라

눅13:29 사람들이 동서남북으로부터 와서 하나님의 나라 잔치에 참여하리니

눅13:30 보라 나중 된 자로서 먼저 될 자도 있고 먼저 된 자로서 나중 될 자도 있느니라 하시더라

눅13:31 곧 그 때에 어떤 바리새인들이 나아와서 이르되 나가서 여기를 떠나소서 헤롯이 당신을 죽이고자 하나이다

눅13:32 이르시되 너희는 가서 저 여우에게 이르되 오늘과 내일은 내가 귀신을 쫓아내며 병을 고치다가 제 삼일에는 완전하여지리라 하라

눅13:33 그러나 오늘과 내일과 모레는 내가 갈 길을 가야 하리니 선지자가 예루살렘 밖에서는 죽는 법이 없느니라

눅13:34 예루살렘아 예루살렘아 선지자들을 죽이고 네게 파송된 자들을 돌로 치는 자여 암탉이 제 새끼를 날개 아래에 모음 같이 내가 너희의 자녀를 모으려 한 일이 몇 번이냐 그러나 너희가 원하지 아니하였도다

눅13:35 보라 너희 집이 황폐하여 버린 바 되리라 내가 너희에게 이르노니 너희가 주의 이름으로 오시는 이를 찬송하리로다 할 때까지는 나를 보지 못하리라 하시니라

1 Chronicles 26.

26:1 This is the list of the Israelites--heads of families, commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds, and their officers, who served the king in all that concerned the army divisions that were on duty month by month throughout the year. Each division consisted of 24,000 men.

26:2 In charge of the first division, for the first month, was Jashobeam son of Zabdiel. There were 24,000 men in his division.

26:3 He was a descendant of Perez and chief of all the army officers for the first month.

26:4 In charge of the division for the second month was Dodai the Ahohite; Mikloth was the leader of his division. There were 24,000 men in his division.

26:5 The third army commander, for the third month, was Benaiah son of Jehoiada the priest. He was chief and there were 24,000 men in his division.

26:6 This was the Benaiah who was a mighty man among the Thirty and was over the Thirty. His son Ammizabad was in charge of his division.

26:7 The fourth, for the fourth month, was Asahel the brother of Joab; his son Zebadiah was his successor. There were 24,000 men in his division.

26:8 The fifth, for the fifth month, was the commander Shamhuth the Izrahite. There were 24,000 men in his division.

26:9 The sixth, for the sixth month, was Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite. There were 24,000 men in his division.

26:10 The seventh, for the seventh month, was Helez the Pelonite, an Ephraimite. There were 24,000 men in his division.

26:11 The eighth, for the eighth month, was Sibbecai the Hushathite, a Zerahite. There were 24,000 men in his division.

26:12 The ninth, for the ninth month, was Abiezer the Anathothite, a Benjamite. There were 24,000 men in his division.

26:13 The tenth, for the tenth month, was Maharai the Netophathite, a Zerahite. There were 24,000 men in his division.

26:14 The eleventh, for the eleventh month, was Benaiah the Pirathonite, an Ephraimite. There were 24,000 men in his division.

26:15 The twelfth, for the twelfth month, was Heldai the Netophathite, from the family of Othniel. There were 24,000 men in his division.

26:16 The officers over the tribes of Israel: over the Reubenites: Eliezer son of Zicri; over the Simeonites: Shephatiah son of Maacah;

26:17 over Levi: Hashabiah son of Kemuel; over Aaron: Zadok;

26:18 over Judah: Elihu, a brother of David; over Issachar: Omri son of Michael;

26:19 over Zebulun: Ishmaiah son of Obadiah; over Naphtali: Jerimoth son of Azriel;

26:20 over the Ephraimites: Hoshea son of Azaziah; over half the tribe of Manasseh: Joel son of Pedaiah;

26:21 over the half-tribe of Manasseh in Gilead: Iddo son of Zechariah; over Benjamin: Jaasiel son of Abner;

26:22 over Dan: Azarel son of Jeroham. These were the officers over the tribes of Israel.

26:23 David did not take the number of the men twenty years old or less, because the LORD had promised to make Israel as numerous as the stars in the sky.

26:24 Joab son of Zeruiah began to count the men but did not finish. Wrath came on Israel on account of this numbering, and the number was not entered in the book of the annals of King David.

26:25 Azmaveth son of Adiel was in charge of the royal storehouses. Jonathan son of Uzziah was in charge of the storehouses in the outlying districts, in the towns, the villages and the watchtowers.

26:26 Ezri son of Kelub was in charge of the field workers who farmed the land.

26:27 Shimei the Ramathite was in charge of the vineyards. Zabdi the Shiphmite was in charge of the produce of the vineyards for the wine vats.

26:28 Baal-Hanan the Gederite was in charge of the olive and sycamore-fig trees in the western foothills. Joash was in charge of the supplies of olive oil.

26:29 Shitrai the Sharonite was in charge of the herds grazing in Sharon. Shaphat son of Adlai was in charge of the herds in the valleys.

26:30 Obil the Ishmaelite was in charge of the camels. Jehdeiah the Meronothite was in charge of the donkeys.

26:31 Jaziz the Hagrite was in charge of the flocks. All these were the officials in charge of King David's property.

26:32 Jonathan, David's uncle, was a counselor, a man of insight and a scribe. Jehiel son of Hacmoni took care of the king's sons.

26:33 Ahithophel was the king's counselor. Hushai the Arkite was the king's friend.

26:34 Ahithophel was succeeded by Jehoiada son of Benaiah and by Abiathar. Joab was the commander of the royal army.

1 Chronicles 27.

27:1 David summoned all the officials of Israel to assemble at Jerusalem: the officers over the tribes, the commanders of the divisions in the service of the king, the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds, and the officials in charge of all the property and livestock belonging to the king and his sons, together with the palace officials, the mighty men and all the brave warriors.

27:2 King David rose to his feet and said: "Listen to me, my brothers and my people. I had it in my heart to build a house as a place of rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD, for the footstool of our God, and I made plans to build it.

27:3 But God said to me, 'You are not to build a house for my Name, because you are a warrior and have shed blood.'

27:4 "Yet the LORD, the God of Israel, chose me from my whole family to be king over Israel forever. He chose Judah as leader, and from the house of Judah he chose my family, and from my father's sons he was pleased to make me king over all Israel.

27:5 Of all my sons--and the LORD has given me many--he has chosen my son Solomon to sit on the throne of the kingdom of the LORD over Israel.

27:6 He said to me: 'Solomon your son is the one who will build my house and my courts, for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father.

27:7 I will establish his kingdom forever if he is unswerving in carrying out my commands and laws, as is being done at this time.'

27:8 "So now I charge you in the sight of all Israel and of the assembly of the LORD, and in the hearing of our God: Be careful to follow all the commands of the LORD your God, that you may possess this good land and pass it on as an inheritance to your descendants forever.

27:9 "And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.

27:10 Consider now, for the LORD has chosen you to build a temple as a sanctuary. Be strong and do the work."

27:11 Then David gave his son Solomon the plans for the portico of the temple, its buildings, its storerooms, its upper parts, its inner rooms and the place of atonement.

27:12 He gave him the plans of all that the Spirit had put in his mind for the courts of the temple of the LORD and all the surrounding rooms, for the treasuries of the temple of God and for the treasuries for the dedicated things.

27:13 He gave him instructions for the divisions of the priests and Levites, and for all the work of serving in the temple of the LORD, as well as for all the articles to be used in its service.

27:14 He designated the weight of gold for all the gold articles to be used in various kinds of service, and the weight of silver for all the silver articles to be used in various kinds of service:

27:15 the weight of gold for the gold lampstands and their lamps, with the weight for each lampstand and its lamps; and the weight of silver for each silver lampstand and its lamps, according to the use of each lampstand;

27:16 the weight of gold for each table for consecrated bread; the weight of silver for the silver tables;

27:17 the weight of pure gold for the forks, sprinkling bowls and pitchers; the weight of gold for each gold dish; the weight of silver for each silver dish;

27:18 and the weight of the refined gold for the altar of incense. He also gave him the plan for the chariot, that is, the cherubim of gold that spread their wings and shelter the ark of the covenant of the LORD.

27:19 "All this," David said, "I have in writing from the hand of the LORD upon me, and he gave me understanding in all the details of the plan."

27:20 David also said to Solomon his son, "Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the LORD is finished.

27:21 The divisions of the priests and Levites are ready for all the work on the temple of God, and every willing man skilled in any craft will help you in all the work. The officials and all the people will obey your every command."

2 Peter 1.

1:1 Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours:

1:2 Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.

1:3 His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.

1:4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

1:5 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge;

1:6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness;

1:7 and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love.

1:8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1:9 But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins.

1:10 Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never fall,

1:11 and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

1:12 So I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth you now have.

1:13 I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of this body,

1:14 because I know that I will soon put it aside, as our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me.

1:15 And I will make every effort to see that after my departure you will always be able to remember these things.

1:16 We did not follow cleverly invented stories when we told you about the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

1:17 For he received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, saying, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased."

1:18 We ourselves heard this voice that came from heaven when we were with him on the sacred mountain.

1:19 And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.

1:20 Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation.

1:21 For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

Micah 4.

4:1 In the last days the mountain of the LORD'S temple will be established as chief among the mountains; it will be raised above the hills, and peoples will stream to it.

4:2 Many nations will come and say, "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths." The law will go out from Zion, the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

4:3 He will judge between many peoples and will settle disputes for strong nations far and wide. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore.

4:4 Every man will sit under his own vine and under his own fig tree, and no one will make them afraid, for the LORD Almighty has spoken.

4:5 All the nations may walk in the name of their gods; we will walk in the name of the LORD our God for ever and ever.

4:6 "In that day," declares the LORD, "I will gather the lame; I will assemble the exiles and those I have brought to grief.

4:7 I will make the lame a remnant, those driven away a strong nation. The LORD will rule over them in Mount Zion from that day and forever.

4:8 As for you, O watchtower of the flock, O stronghold of the Daughter of Zion, the former dominion will be restored to you; kingship will come to the Daughter of Jerusalem."

4:9 Why do you now cry aloud--have you no king? Has your counselor perished, that pain seizes you like that of a woman in labor?

4:10 Writhe in agony, O Daughter of Zion, like a woman in labor, for now you must leave the city to camp in the open field. You will go to Babylon; there you will be rescued. There the LORD will redeem you out of the hand of your enemies.

4:11 But now many nations are gathered against you. They say, "Let her be defiled, let our eyes gloat over Zion!"

4:12 But they do not know the thoughts of the LORD; they do not understand his plan, he who gathers them like sheaves to the threshing floor.

4:13 "Rise and thresh, O Daughter of Zion, for I will give you horns of iron; I will give you hoofs of bronze and you will break to pieces many nations." You will devote their ill-gotten gains to the LORD, their wealth to the Lord of all the earth.

Luke 13.

13:1 Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.

13:2 Jesus answered, "Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way?

13:3 I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.

13:4 Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them--do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem?

13:5 I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish."

13:6 Then he told this parable: "A man had a fig tree, planted in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it, but did not find any.

13:7 So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, 'For three years now I've been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree and haven't found any. Cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?'

13:8 "'Sir,' the man replied, 'leave it alone for one more year, and I'll dig around it and fertilize it.

13:9 If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it down.'"

13:10 On a Sabbath Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues,

13:11 and a woman was there who had been crippled by a spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not straighten up at all.

13:12 When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her, "Woman, you are set free from your infirmity."

13:13 Then he put his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God.

13:14 Indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, the synagogue ruler said to the people, "There are six days for work. So come and be healed on those days, not on the Sabbath."

13:15 The Lord answered him, "You hypocrites! Doesn't each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or donkey from the stall and lead it out to give it water?

13:16 Then should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?"

13:17 When he said this, all his opponents were humiliated, but the people were delighted with all the wonderful things he was doing.

13:18 Then Jesus asked, "What is the kingdom of God like? What shall I compare it to?

13:19 It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his garden. It grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air perched in its branches."

13:20 Again he asked, "What shall I compare the kingdom of God to?

13:21 It is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into a large amount of flour until it worked all through the dough."

13:22 Then Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching as he made his way to Jerusalem.

13:23 Someone asked him, "Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?" He said to them,

13:24 "Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.

13:25 Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, 'Sir, open the door for us.' "But he will answer, 'I don't know you or where you come from.'

13:26 "Then you will say, 'We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.'

13:27 "But he will reply, 'I don't know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!'

13:28 "There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out.

13:29 People will come from east and west and north and south, and will take their places at the feast in the kingdom of God.

13:30 Indeed there are those who are last who will be first, and first who will be last."

13:31 At that time some Pharisees came to Jesus and said to him, "Leave this place and go somewhere else. Herod wants to kill you."

13:32 He replied, "Go tell that fox, 'I will drive out demons and heal people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach my goal.'

13:33 In any case, I must keep going today and tomorrow and the next day--for surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem!

13:34 "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!

13:35 Look, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, 'Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.'"
