대상1:47 하닷이 죽으매 마스레가의 사믈라가 대신하여 왕이 되고

대상1:48 사믈라가 죽으매 강 가의 르호봇 사울이 대신하여 왕이 되고

대상1:49 사울이 죽으매 악볼의 아들 바알하난이 대신하여 왕이 되고

대상1:50 바알하난이 죽으매 하닷이 대신하여 왕이 되었으니 그의 도성 이름은 바이요 그의 아내의 이름은 므헤다벨이라 메사합의 손녀요 마드렛의 딸이더라

대상1:51 하닷이 죽으니라 그리고 에돔의 족장은 이러하니 딤나 족장과 알랴 족장과 여뎃 족장과

대상2:1 이스라엘의 아들은 이러하니 르우벤과 시므온과 레위와 유다와 잇사갈과 스불론과

대상2:2 단과 요셉과 베냐민과 납달리와 갓과 아셀이러라

대상2:3 유다의 아들은 에르와 오난과 셀라니 이 세 사람은 가나안 사람 수아의 딸이 유다에게 낳아 준 자요 유다의 맏아들 에르는 여호와 보시기에 악하였으므로 여호와께서 죽이셨고

대상2:4 유다의 며느리 다말이 유다에게 베레스와 세라를 낳아 주었으니 유다의 아들이 모두 다섯이더라

대상2:5 베레스의 아들은 헤스론과 하물이요

대상2:6 세라의 아들은 시므리와 세단과 헤만과 갈골과 다라니 모두 다섯 사람이요

대상2:7 갈미의 아들은 아갈이니 그는 진멸시킬 물건을 범하여 이스라엘을 괴롭힌 자이며

대상2:8 에단의 아들은 아사랴더라

대상2:9 헤스론이 낳은 아들은 여라므엘과 람과 글루배라

대상2:10 람은 암미나답을 낳고 암미나답은 나손을 낳았으니 나손은 유다 자손의 방백이며

대상2:11 나손은 살마를 낳고 살마는 보아스를 낳고

대상2:12 보아스는 오벳을 낳고 오벳은 이새를 낳고

대상2:13 이새는 맏아들 엘리압과 둘째로 아비나답과 셋째로 시므아와

대상2:14 넷째로 느다넬과 다섯째로 랏대와

대상2:15 여섯째로 오셈과 일곱째로 다윗을 낳았으며

대상2:16 그들의 자매는 스루야와 아비가일이라 스루야의 아들은 아비새와 요압과 아사헬 삼형제요

대상2:17 아비가일은 아마사를 낳았으니 아마사의 아버지는 이스마엘 사람 예델이었더라

대상2:18 헤스론의 아들 갈렙이 그의 아내 아수바와 여리옷에게서 아들을 낳았으니 그가 낳은 아들들은 예셀과 소밥과 아르돈이며

대상2:19 아수바가 죽은 후에 갈렙이 또 에브랏에게 장가 들었더니 에브랏이 그에게 훌을 낳아 주었고

대상2:20 훌은 우리를 낳고 우리는 브살렐을 낳았더라

대상2:21 그 후에 헤스론이 육십 세에 길르앗의 아버지 마길의 딸에게 장가 들어 동침하였더니 그가 스굽을 헤스론에게 낳아 주었으며

대상2:22 스굽은 야일을 낳았고 야일은 길르앗 땅에서 스물세 성읍을 가졌더니

대상2:23 그술과 아람이 야일의 성읍들과 그낫과 그에 딸린 성읍들 모두 육십을 그들에게서 빼앗았으며 이들은 다 길르앗의 아버지 마길의 자손이었더라

대상2:24 헤스론이 갈렙 에브라다에서 죽은 후에 그의 아내 아비야가 그로 말미암아 아스훌을 낳았으니 아스홀은 드고아의 아버지더라

대상2:25 헤스론의 맏아들 여라므엘의 아들은 맏아들 람과 그 다음 브나와 오렌과 오셈과 아히야이며

대상2:26 여라므엘이 다른 아내가 있었으니 이름은 아다라라 그는 오남의 어머니더라

대상2:27 여라므엘의 맏아들 람의 아들은 마아스와 야민과 에겔이요

대상2:28 오남의 아들들은 삼매와 야다요 삼매의 아들은 나답과 아비술이며

대상2:29 아비술의 아내의 이름은 아비하일이라 아비하일이 아반과 몰릿을 그에게 낳아 주었으며

대상2:30 나답의 아들들은 셀렛과 압바임이라 셀렛은 아들이 없이 죽었고

대상2:31 압바임의 아들들은 이시요 이시의 아들들은 세산이요 세산의 아들들은 알래요

대상2:32 삼매의 아우 야다의 아들들은 예델과 요나단이라 예델은 아들이 없이 죽었고

대상2:33 요나단의 아들들은 벨렛과 사사라 여라므엘의 자손은 이러하며

대상2:34 세산은 아들이 없고 딸 뿐이라 그에게 야르하라 하는 애굽 종이 있으므로

대상2:35 세산이 딸을 그 종 야르하에게 주어 아내를 삼게 하였더니 그가 그로 말미암아 앗대를 낳고

대상2:36 앗대는 나단을 낳고 나단은 사밧을 낳고

대상2:37 사밧을 에블랄을 낳고 에블랄은 오벳을 낳고

대상2:38 오벳은 예후를 낳고 예후는 아사랴를 낳고

대상2:39 아사랴는 헬레스를 낳고 헬레스는 엘르아사를 낳고

대상2:40 엘르아사는 시스매를 낳고 시스매는 살룸을 낳고

대상2:41 살룸은 여가먀를 낳고 여가먀는 엘리사마를 낳았더라

대상2:42 여라므엘의 아우 갈렙의 아들 곧 맏아들은 메사이니 십의 아버지요 그 아들은 마레사니 헤브론의 아버지이며

대상2:43 헤브론의 아들들은 고라와 답부아와 레겜과 세마라

대상2:44 세마는 라함을 낳았으니 라함은 요르그암의 아버지이며 레겜은 삼매를 낳았고

대상2:45 삼매의 아들은 마온이라 마온은 벳술의 아버지이며

대상2:46 갈렙의 소실 에바는 하란과 모사와 가세스를 낳고 하란은 가세스를 낳았으며

대상2:47 야대의 아들은 레겜과 요단과 게산과 벨렛과 에바와 사압이며

대상2:48 갈렙의 소실 마아가는 세벨과 디르하나를 낳았고

대상2:49 또 맛만나의 아버지 사압을 낳았고 또 막베나와 기브아의 아버지 스와를 낳았으며 갈렙의 딸은 악사더라

대상2:50 갈렙의 자손 곧 에브라다의 맏 아들 훌의 아들은 이러하니 기럇여아림의 아버지 소발과

대상2:51 베들레헴의 아버지 살마와 벧가델의 아버지 하렙이라

대상2:52 기럇여아림의 아버지 소발의 자손은 하로에와 므누홋 사람의 절반이니

대상2:53 기럇여아림 족속들은 이델 종족과 붓 종족과 수맛 종족과 미스라 종족이라 이로 말미암아 소라와 에스다올 두 종족이 나왔으며

대상2:54 살마의 자손들은 베들레헴과 느도바 종족과 아다롯벳요압과 마나핫 종족의 절반과 소라 종족과

대상2:55 야베스에 살던 서기관 종족 곧 디랏 종족과 시므앗 종족과 수갓 종족이니 이는 다 레갑 가문의 조상 함맛에게서 나온 겐 종족이더라

히브리서 8 장.

히8:1 지금 우리가 하는 말의 요점은 이러한 대제사장이 우리에게 있다는 것이라 그가 하늘에서 지극히 크신 이의 보좌 우편에 앉으셨으니

히8:2 성소와 참 장막에서 섬기는 이시라 이 장막은 주께서 세우신 것이요 사람이 세운 것이 아니니라

히8:3 대제사장마다 예물과 제사 드림을 위하여 세운 자니 그러므로 그도 무엇인가 드릴 것이 있어야 할지니라

히8:4 예수께서 만일 땅에 계셨더라면 제사장이 되지 아니하셨을 것이니 이는 율법을 따라 예물을 드리는 제사장이 있음이라

히8:5 그들이 섬기는 것은 하늘에 있는 것의 모형과 그림자라 모세가 장막을 지으려 할 때에 지시하심을 얻음과 같으니 이르시되 삼가 모든 것을 산에서 네게 보이던 본을 따라 지으라 하셨느니라

히8:6 그러나 이제 그는 더 아름다운 직분을 얻으셨으니 그는 더 좋은 약속으로 세우신 더 좋은 언약의 중보자시라

히8:7 저 첫 언약이 무흠하였더라면 둘째 것을 요구할 일이 없었으려니와

히8:8 그들의 잘못을 지적하여 말씀하시되 주께서 이르시되 볼지어다 날이 이르리니 내가 이스라엘 집과 유다 집과 더불어 새 언약을 맺으리라

히8:9 또 주께서 이르시기를 이 언약은 내가 그들의 열조의 손을 잡고 애굽 땅에서 인도하여 내던 날에 그들과 맺은 언약과 같지 아니하도다 그들은 내 언약 안에 머물러 있지 아니하므로 내가 그들을 돌보지 아니하였노라

히8:10 또 주께서 이르시되 그 날 후에 내가 이스라엘 집과 맺을 언약은 이것이니 내 법을 그들의 생각에 두고 그들의 마음에 이것을 기록하리라 나는 그들에게 하나님이 되고 그들은 내게 백성이 되리라

히8:11 또 각각 자기 나라 사람과 각각 자기 형제를 가르쳐 이르기를 주를 알라 하지 아니할 것은 그들이 작은 자로부터 큰 자까지 다 나를 앎이라

히8:12 내가 그들의 불의를 긍휼히 여기고 그들의 죄를 다시 기억하지 아니하리라 하셨느니라

히8:13 새 언약이라 말씀하셨으매 첫 것은 낡아지게 하신 것이니 낡아지고 쇠하는 것은 없어져 가는 것이니라

아모스 2 장.

암2:1 여호와께서 이와 같이 말씀하시되 모압의 서너 가지 죄로 말미암아 내가 그 벌을 돌이키지 아니하리니 이는 그가 에돔 왕의 뼈를 불살라 재를 만들었음이라

암2:2 내가 모압에 불을 보내리니 그리욧 궁궐들을 사르리라 모압이 요란함과 외침과 나팔 소리 중에서 죽을 것이라

암2:3 내가 그 중에서 재판장을 멸하며 지도자들을 그와 함께 죽이리라 여호와께서 말씀하시니라

암2:4 여호와께서 이와 같이 말씀하시되 유다의 서너 가지 죄로 말미암아 내가 그 벌을 돌이키지 아니하리니 이는 그들이 여호와의 율법을 멸시하며 그 율례를 지키지 아니하고 그의 조상들이 따라가던 거짓 것에 미혹되었음이라

암2:5 내가 유다에 불을 보내리니 예루살렘의 궁궐들을 사르리라

암2:6 여호와께서 이와 같이 말씀하시되 이스라엘의 서너 가지 죄로 말미암아 내가 그 벌을 돌이키지 아니하리니 이는 그들이 은을 받고 의인을 팔며 신 한 켤레를 받고 가난한 자를 팔며

암2:7 힘 없는 자의 머리를 티끌 먼지 속에 발로 밟고 연약한 자의 길을 굽게 하며 아버지와 아들이 한 젊은 여인에게 다녀서 내 거룩한 이름을 더럽히며

암2:8 모든 제단 옆에서 전당 잡은 옷 위에 누우며 그들의 신전에서 벌금으로 얻은 포도주를 마심이니라

암2:9 내가 아모리 사람을 그들 앞에서 멸하였나니 그 키는 백향목 높이와 같고 강하기는 상수리나무 같으나 내가 그 위의 열매와 그 아래의 뿌리를 진멸하였느니라

암2:10 내가 너희를 애굽 땅에서 이끌어 내어 사십 년 동안 광야에서 인도하고 아모리 사람의 땅을 너희가 차지하게 하였고

암2:11 또 너희 아들 중에서 선지자를, 너희 청년 중에서 나실인을 일으켰나니 이스라엘 자손들아 과연 그렇지 아니하냐 이는 여호와의 말씀이니라

암2:12 그러나 너희가 나실 사람으로 포도주를 마시게 하며 또 선지자에게 명령하여 예언하지 말라 하였느니라

암2:13 보라 곡식 단을 가득히 실은 수레가 흙을 누름 같이 내가 너희를 누르리니

암2:14 빨리 달음박질하는 자도 도망할 수 없으며 강한 자도 자기 힘을 낼 수 없으며 용사도 자기 목숨을 구할 수 없으며

암2:15 활을 가진 자도 설 수 없으며 발이 빠른 자도 피할 수 없으며 말 타는 자도 자기 목숨을 구할 수 없고

암2:16 용사 가운데 그 마음이 굳센 자도 그 날에는 벌거벗고 도망하리라 여호와의 말씀이니라

시편 146 장.

시146:1 할렐루야 내 영혼아 여호와를 찬양하라

시146:2 나의 생전에 여호와를 찬양하며 나의 평생에 내 하나님을 찬송하리로다

시146:3 귀인들을 의지하지 말며 도울 힘이 없는 인생도 의지하지 말지니

시146:4 그의 호흡이 끊어지면 흙으로 돌아가서 그 날에 그이 생각이 소멸하리로다

시146:5 야곱의 하나님을 자기의 도움으로 삼으며 여호와 자기 하나님에게 자기의 소망을 두는 자는 복이 있도다

시146:6 여호와는 천지와 바다와 그 중의 만물을 지으시며 영원히 진실함을 지키시며

시146:7 억눌린 사람들을 위해 정의로 심판하시며 주린 자들에게 먹을 것을 주시는 이시로다 여호와께서는 갇힌 자들에게 자유를 주시는도다

시146:8 여호와께서 맹인들의 눈을 여시며 여호와께서 비굴한 자들을 일으키시며 여호와께서 의인들을 사랑하시며

시146:9 여호와께서 나그네들을 보호하시며 고아와 과부를 붙드시고 악인들의 길은 굽게 하시는도다

시146:10 시온아 여호와는 영원히 다스리시고 네 하나님은 대대로 통치하시리로다 할렐루야

시편 147 장.

시147:1 할렐루야 우리 하나님을 찬양하는 일이 선함이여 찬송하는 일이 아름답고 마땅하도다

시147:2 여호와께서 예루살렘을 세우시며 이스라엘의 흩어진 자들을 모으시며

시147:3 상심한 자들을 고치시며 그들의 상처를 싸매시는도다

시147:4 그가 별들의 수효를 세시고 그것들을 다 이름대로 부르시는도다

시147:5 우리 주는 위대하시며 능력이 많으시며 그의 지혜가 무궁하시도다

시147:6 여호와께서 겸손한 자들은 붙드시고 악인들은 땅에 엎드러뜨리시는도다

시147:7 감사함으로 여호와께 노래하며 수금으로 하나님께 찬양할지어다

시147:8 그가 구름으로 하늘을 덮으시며 땅을 위하여 비를 준비하시며 산에 풀이 자라게 하시며

시147:9 들짐승과 우는 까마귀 새끼에게 먹을 것을 주시는도다

시147:10 여호와는 말의 힘이 세다 하여 기뻐하지 아니하시며 사람의 다리가 억세다 하여 기뻐하지 아니하시고

시147:12 예루살렘아 여호와를 찬송할지어다 시온아 네 하나님을 찬양할지어다

시147:13 그가 네 문빗장을 견고히 하시고 네 가운데에 있는 너의 자녀들에게 복을 주셨으며

시147:14 네 경내를 평안하게 하시고 아름다운 밀로 너를 배불리시며

시147:15 그의 명령을 땅에 보내시니 그의 말씀이 속히 달리는도다

시147:16 눈을 양털 같이 내리시며 서리를 재 같이 흩으시며

시147:17 우박을 떡 부스러기 같이 뿌리시나니 누가 능히 그의 추위를 감당하리요

시147:18 그의 말씀을 보내사 그것들을 녹이시고 바람을 불게 하신즉 물이 흐르는도다

1:1 Adam, Seth, Enosh,

1:2 Kenan, Mahalalel, Jared,

1:3 Enoch, Methuselah, Lamech, Noah.

1:4 The sons of Noah: Shem, Ham and Japheth.

1:5 The sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech and Tiras.

1:6 The sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, Riphath and Togarmah.

1:7 The sons of Javan: Elishah, Tarshish, the Kittim and the Rodanim.

1:8 The sons of Ham: Cush, Mizraim, Put and Canaan.

1:9 The sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabta, Raamah and Sabteca. The sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.

1:10 Cush was the father of Nimrod, who grew to be a mighty warrior on earth.

1:12 Pathrusites, Casluhites (from whom the Philistines came) and Caphtorites.

1:13 Canaan was the father of Sidon his firstborn, and of the Hittites,

1:16 Arvadites, Zemarites and Hamathites.

1:17 The sons of Shem: Elam, Asshur, Arphaxad, Lud and Aram. The sons of Aram: Uz, Hul, Gether and Meshech.

1:18 Arphaxad was the father of Shelah, and Shelah the father of Eber.

1:19 Two sons were born to Eber: One was named Peleg, because in his time the earth was divided; his brother was named Joktan.

1:20 Joktan was the father of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,

1:21 Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,

1:22 Obal, Abimael, Sheba,

1:23 Ophir, Havilah and Jobab. All these were sons of Joktan.

1:24 Shem, Arphaxad, Shelah,

1:25 Eber, Peleg, Reu,

1:26 Serug, Nahor, Terah

1:27 and Abram (that is, Abraham).

1:28 The sons of Abraham: Isaac and Ishmael.

1:29 These were their descendants: Nebaioth the firstborn of Ishmael, Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,

1:30 Mishma, Dumah, Massa, Hadad, Tema,

1:31 Jetur, Naphish and Kedemah. These were the sons of Ishmael.

1:32 The sons born to Keturah, Abraham's concubine: Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak and Shuah. The sons of Jokshan: Sheba and Dedan.

1:33 The sons of Midian: Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida and Eldaah. All these were descendants of Keturah.

1:34 Abraham was the father of Isaac. The sons of Isaac: Esau and Israel.

1:35 The sons of Esau: Eliphaz, Reuel, Jeush, Jalam and Korah.

1:36 The sons of Eliphaz: Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam and Kenaz; by Timna: Amalek.

1:37 The sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah and Mizzah.

1:38 The sons of Seir: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, Dishon, Ezer and Dishan.

1:39 The sons of Lotan: Hori and Homam. Timna was Lotan's sister.

1:40 The sons of Shobal: Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho and Onam. The sons of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah.

1:41 The son of Anah: Dishon. The sons of Dishon: Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran and Keran.

1:42 The sons of Ezer: Bilhan, Zaavan and Akan. The sons of Dishan: Uz and Aran.

1:43 These were the kings who reigned in Edom before any Israelite king reigned: Bela son of Beor, whose city was named Dinhabah.

1:44 When Bela died, Jobab son of Zerah from Bozrah succeeded him as king.

1:45 When Jobab died, Husham from the land of the Temanites succeeded him as king.

1:46 When Husham died, Hadad son of Bedad, who defeated Midian in the country of Moab, succeeded him as king. His city was named Avith.

1:47 When Hadad died, Samlah from Masrekah succeeded him as king.

1:48 When Samlah died, Shaul from Rehoboth on the river succeeded him as king.

1:49 When Shaul died, Baal-Hanan son of Acbor succeeded him as king.

1:50 When Baal-Hanan died, Hadad succeeded him as king. His city was named Pau, and his wife's name was Mehetabel daughter of Matred, the daughter of Me-Zahab.

1:51 Hadad also died. The chiefs of Edom were: Timna, Alvah, Jetheth,

1:52 Oholibamah, Elah, Pinon,

1:53 Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar,

1:54 Magdiel and Iram. These were the chiefs of Edom.

1 Chronicles 2.

2:1 These were the sons of Israel: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun,

2:2 Dan, Joseph, Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad and Asher.

2:3 The sons of Judah: Er, Onan and Shelah. These three were born to him by a Canaanite woman, the daughter of Shua. Er, Judah's firstborn, was wicked in the LORD'S sight; so the LORD put him to death.

2:4 Tamar, Judah's daughter-in-law, bore him Perez and Zerah. Judah had five sons in all.

2:5 The sons of Perez: Hezron and Hamul.

2:6 The sons of Zerah: Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Calcol and Darda--five in all.

2:7 The son of Carmi: Achar, who brought trouble on Israel by violating the ban on taking devoted things.

2:8 The son of Ethan: Azariah.

2:9 The sons born to Hezron were: Jerahmeel, Ram and Caleb.

2:10 Ram was the father of Amminadab, and Amminadab the father of Nahshon, the leader of the people of Judah.

2:11 Nahshon was the father of Salmon, Salmon the father of Boaz,

2:12 Boaz the father of Obed and Obed the father of Jesse.

2:13 Jesse was the father of Eliab his firstborn; the second son was Abinadab, the third Shimea,

2:14 the fourth Nethanel, the fifth Raddai,

2:15 the sixth Ozem and the seventh David.

2:16 Their sisters were Zeruiah and Abigail. Zeruiah's three sons were Abishai, Joab and Asahel.

2:17 Abigail was the mother of Amasa, whose father was Jether the Ishmaelite.

2:18 Caleb son of Hezron had children by his wife Azubah (and by Jerioth). These were her sons: Jesher, Shobab and Ardon.

2:19 When Azubah died, Caleb married Ephrath, who bore him Hur.

2:20 Hur was the father of Uri, and Uri the father of Bezalel.

2:21 Later, Hezron lay with the daughter of Makir the father of Gilead (he had married her when he was sixty years old), and she bore him Segub.

2:22 Segub was the father of Jair, who controlled twenty-three towns in Gilead.

2:23 (But Geshur and Aram captured Havvoth Jair, as well as Kenath with its surrounding settlements--sixty towns.) All these were descendants of Makir the father of Gilead.

2:24 After Hezron died in Caleb Ephrathah, Abijah the wife of Hezron bore him Ashhur the father of Tekoa.

2:25 The sons of Jerahmeel the firstborn of Hezron: Ram his firstborn, Bunah, Oren, Ozem and Ahijah.

2:26 Jerahmeel had another wife, whose name was Atarah; she was the mother of Onam.

2:27 The sons of Ram the firstborn of Jerahmeel: Maaz, Jamin and Eker.

2:28 The sons of Onam: Shammai and Jada. The sons of Shammai: Nadab and Abishur.

2:29 Abishur's wife was named Abihail, who bore him Ahban and Molid.

2:30 The sons of Nadab: Seled and Appaim. Seled died without children.

2:31 The son of Appaim: Ishi, who was the father of Sheshan. Sheshan was the father of Ahlai.

2:32 The sons of Jada, Shammai's brother: Jether and Jonathan. Jether died without children.

2:33 The sons of Jonathan: Peleth and Zaza. These were the descendants of Jerahmeel.

2:34 Sheshan had no sons--only daughters. He had an Egyptian servant named Jarha.

2:35 Sheshan gave his daughter in marriage to his servant Jarha, and she bore him Attai.

2:36 Attai was the father of Nathan, Nathan the father of Zabad,

2:37 Zabad the father of Ephlal, Ephlal the father of Obed,

2:38 Obed the father of Jehu, Jehu the father of Azariah,

2:39 Azariah the father of Helez, Helez the father of Eleasah,

2:40 Eleasah the father of Sismai, Sismai the father of Shallum,

2:41 Shallum the father of Jekamiah, and Jekamiah the father of Elishama.

2:42 The sons of Caleb the brother of Jerahmeel: Mesha his firstborn, who was the father of Ziph, and his son Mareshah, who was the father of Hebron.

2:43 The sons of Hebron: Korah, Tappuah, Rekem and Shema.

2:44 Shema was the father of Raham, and Raham the father of Jorkeam. Rekem was the father of Shammai.

2:45 The son of Shammai was Maon, and Maon was the father of Beth Zur.

2:46 Caleb's concubine Ephah was the mother of Haran, Moza and Gazez. Haran was the father of Gazez.

2:47 The sons of Jahdai: Regem, Jotham, Geshan, Pelet, Ephah and Shaaph.

2:48 Caleb's concubine Maacah was the mother of Sheber and Tirhanah.

2:49 She also gave birth to Shaaph the father of Madmannah and to Sheva the father of Macbenah and Gibea. Caleb's daughter was Acsah.

2:50 These were the descendants of Caleb. The sons of Hur the firstborn of Ephrathah: Shobal the father of Kiriath Jearim,

2:51 Salma the father of Bethlehem, and Hareph the father of Beth Gader.

2:52 The descendants of Shobal the father of Kiriath Jearim were: Haroeh, half the Manahathites,

2:53 and the clans of Kiriath Jearim: the Ithrites, Puthites, Shumathites and Mishraites. From these descended the Zorathites and Eshtaolites.

2:54 The descendants of Salma: Bethlehem, the Netophathites, Atroth Beth Joab, half the Manahathites, the Zorites,

2:55 and the clans of scribes who lived at Jabez: the Tirathites, Shimeathites and Sucathites. These are the Kenites who came from Hammath, the father of the house of Recab.

Hebrews 8.

8:1 The point of what we are saying is this: We do have such a high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven,

8:2 and who serves in the sanctuary, the true tabernacle set up by the Lord, not by man.

8:3 Every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices, and so it was necessary for this one also to have something to offer.

8:4 If he were on earth, he would not be a priest, for there are already men who offer the gifts prescribed by the law.

8:5 They serve at a sanctuary that is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: "See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain."

8:6 But the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, and it is founded on better promises.

8:7 For if there had been nothing wrong with that first covenant, no place would have been sought for another.

8:8 But God found fault with the people and said: "The time is coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.

8:9 It will not be like the covenant I made with their forefathers when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they did not remain faithful to my covenant, and I turned away from them, declares the Lord.

8:10 This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

8:11 No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest.

8:12 For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more."

8:13 By calling this covenant "new," he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and aging will soon disappear.

Amos 2.

2:1 This is what the LORD says: "For three sins of Moab, even for four, I will not turn back my wrath. Because he burned, as if to lime, the bones of Edom's king,

2:2 I will send fire upon Moab that will consume the fortresses of Kerioth. Moab will go down in great tumult amid war cries and the blast of the trumpet.

2:3 I will destroy her ruler and kill all her officials with him," says the LORD.

2:4 This is what the LORD says: "For three sins of Judah, even for four, I will not turn back my wrath. Because they have rejected the law of the LORD and have not kept his decrees, because they have been led astray by false gods, the gods their ancestors followed,

2:5 I will send fire upon Judah that will consume the fortresses of Jerusalem."

2:6 This is what the LORD says: "For three sins of Israel, even for four, I will not turn back my wrath. They sell the righteous for silver, and the needy for a pair of sandals.

2:7 They trample on the heads of the poor as upon the dust of the ground and deny justice to the oppressed. Father and son use the same girl and so profane my holy name.

2:8 They lie down beside every altar on garments taken in pledge. In the house of their god they drink wine taken as fines.

2:9 "I destroyed the Amorite before them, though he was tall as the cedars and strong as the oaks. I destroyed his fruit above and his roots below.

2:10 "I brought you up out of Egypt, and I led you forty years in the desert to give you the land of the Amorites.

2:11 I also raised up prophets from among your sons and Nazirites from among your young men. Is this not true, people of Israel?" declares the LORD.

2:12 "But you made the Nazirites drink wine and commanded the prophets not to prophesy.

2:13 "Now then, I will crush you as a cart crushes when loaded with grain.

2:14 The swift will not escape, the strong will not muster their strength, and the warrior will not save his life.

2:15 The archer will not stand his ground, the fleet-footed soldier will not get away, and the horseman will not save his life.

2:16 Even the bravest warriors will flee naked on that day," declares the LORD.

Psalms 146.

146:1 Praise the LORD. Praise the LORD, O my soul.

146:2 I will praise the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.

146:3 Do not put your trust in princes, in mortal men, who cannot save.

146:4 When their spirit departs, they return to the ground; on that very day their plans come to nothing.

146:5 Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God,

146:6 the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them--the LORD, who remains faithful forever.

146:7 He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets prisoners free,

146:8 the LORD gives sight to the blind, the LORD lifts up those who are bowed down, the LORD loves the righteous.

146:9 The LORD watches over the alien and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.

146:10 The LORD reigns forever, your God, O Zion, for all generations. Praise the LORD.

Psalms 147.

147:1 Praise the LORD. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him!

147:2 The LORD builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the exiles of Israel.

147:3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

147:4 He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.

147:5 Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit.

147:6 The LORD sustains the humble but casts the wicked to the ground.

147:7 Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving; make music to our God on the harp.

147:8 He covers the sky with clouds; he supplies the earth with rain and makes grass grow on the hills.

147:9 He provides food for the cattle and for the young ravens when they call.

147:10 His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of a man;

147:11 the LORD delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.

147:12 Extol the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise your God, O Zion,

147:13 for he strengthens the bars of your gates and blesses your people within you.

147:14 He grants peace to your borders and satisfies you with the finest of wheat.

147:15 He sends his command to the earth; his word runs swiftly.

147:16 He spreads the snow like wool and scatters the frost like ashes.

147:17 He hurls down his hail like pebbles. Who can withstand his icy blast?

147:18 He sends his word and melts them; he stirs up his breezes, and the waters flow.

147:19 He has revealed his word to Jacob, his laws and decrees to Israel.

147:20 He has done this for no other nation; they do not know his laws. Praise the LORD.
