열왕기하 13 장.

왕하13:1 유다의 왕 아하시야의 아들 요아스의 제이십삼 년에 예후의 아들 여호아하스가 사마리아에서 이스라엘 왕이 되어 십칠 년간 다스리며

왕하13:2 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하여 이스라엘에게 범죄하게 한 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 죄를 따라가고 거기서 떠나지 아니하였으므로

왕하13:3 여호와께서 이스라엘에게 노하사 늘 아람 왕 하사엘의 손과 그의 아들 벤하닷의 손에 넘기셨더니

왕하13:4 아람 왕이 이스라엘을 학대하므로 여호아하스가 여호와께 간구하매 여호와께서 들으셨으니 이는 그들이 학대받음을 보셨음이라

왕하13:5 여호와께서 이에 구원자를 이스라엘에게 주시매 이스라엘 자손이 아람 사람의 손에서 벗어나 전과 같이 자기 장막에 거하였으나

왕하13:6 그들이 이스라엘에게 범죄하게 한 여로보암 집의 죄에서 떠나지 아니하고 그 안에서 따라 행하며 또 사마리아에 아세라 목상을 그냥 두었더라

왕하13:7 아람 왕이 여호아하스의 백성을 멸절하여 타작 마당의 티끌 같이 되게 하고 마병 오십 명과 병거 열대와 보병 만 명외에는 여호아하스에게 남겨 두지 아니하였더라

왕하13:8 여호아하스의 남은 사적과 행한 모든 일과 그의 업적은 이스라엘 왕 역대지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐

왕하13:9 여호아하스가 그의 조상들과 함께 자매 사마리아에 장사되고 그 아들 요아스가 대신하여 왕이 되니라

왕하13:10 유다의 왕 요아스의 제삼십칠 년에 여호아하스의 아들 요아스가 사마리아에서 이스라엘 왕이 되어 십육 년간 다스리며

왕하13:11 여호와께서 보시기에 악을 행하여 이스라엘에게 범죄하게 한 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 모든 죄에서 떠나지 아니하고 그 가운데 행하였더라

왕하13:12 요아스의 남은 사적과 행한 모든 일과 유다 왕 아마샤와 싸운 그의 업적은 이스라엘 왕 역대지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐

왕하13:13 요아스가 그의 조상들과 함께 자매 이스라엘 왕들과 함께 사마리아에 장사되고 여로보암이 그 자리에 앉으니라

왕하13:14 엘리사가 죽을 병이 들매 이스라엘의 왕 요아스가 그에게로 내려와 자기의 얼굴에 눈물을 흘리며 이르되 내 아버지여 내 아버지여 이스라엘의 병거와 마병이여 하매

왕하13:15 엘리사가 그에게 이르되 활과 화살들을 가져오소서 하는지라 활과 화살들을 그에게 가져오매

왕하13:16 또 이스라엘 왕에게 이르되 왕의 손으로 활을 잡으소서 하매 그가 손으로 잡으니 엘리사가 자기 손을 왕의 손 위에 얹고

왕하13:17 이르되 동쪽 창을 여소서 하여 곧 열매 엘리사가 이르되 쏘소서 하는지라 곧 쏘매 엘리사가 이르되 이는 여호와를 위한 구원의 화살 곧 아람에 대한 구원의 화살이니 왕이 아람 사람을 멸절하도록 아벡에서 치리이다 하니라

왕하13:18 또 이르되 화살들을 집으소서 곧 집으매 엘리사가 또 이스라엘 왕에게 이르되 땅을 치소서 하는지라 이에 세 번 치고 그친지라

왕하13:19 하나님의 사람이 노하여 이르되 왕이 대여섯 번을 칠 것이니이다 그리하였더면 왕이 아람을 진멸하기까지 쳤으리이다 그런즉 이제는 왕이 아람을 세 번만 치리이다 하니라

왕하13:20 엘리사가 죽으니 그를 장사하였고 해가 바뀌매 모압 도적 떼들이 그 땅에 온지라

왕하13:21 마침 사람을 장사하는 자들이 그 도적 떼를 보고 그의 시체를 엘리사의 묘실에 들이던지매 시체가 엘리사의 뼈에 닿자 곧 회생하여 일어섰더라

왕하13:22 여호아하스 왕의 시대에 아람 왕 하사엘이 항상 이스라엘을 학대하였으나

왕하13:23 여호와께서 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱과 더불어 세우신 언약 때문에 이스라엘에게 은혜를 베풀며 그들을 불쌍히 여기시며 돌보사 멸하기를 즐겨하지 아니하시고 이 때까지 자기 앞에서 쫓아내지 아니하셨더라

왕하13:24 아람의 왕 하사엘이 죽고 그의 아들 벤하닷이 대신하여 왕이 되매

왕하13:25 여호아하스의 아들 요아스가 하사엘의 아들 벤하닷의 손에서 성읍을 다시 빼앗으니 이 성읍들은 자기 부친 여호아하스가 전쟁 중에 빼앗겼던 것이라 요아스가 벤하닷을 세 번 쳐서 무찌르고 이스라엘 성읍들을 회복하였더라

디모데후서 3 장.

딤후3:1 너는 이것을 알라 말세에 고통하는 때가 이르러

딤후3:2 사람들이 자기를 사랑하며 돈을 사랑하며 자랑하며 교만하며 비방하며 부모를 거역하며 감사하지 아니하며 거룩하지 아니하며

딤후3:3 무정하며 원통함을 풀지 아니하며 모함하며 절제하지 못하며 사나우며 선한 것을 좋아하지 아니하며

딤후3:4 배신하며 조급하며 자만하며 쾌락을 사랑하기를 하나님 사랑하는 것보다 더하며

딤후3:5 경건의 모양은 있으나 경건의 능력은 부인하니 이같은 자들에게서 네가 돌아서라

딤후3:6 그들 중에 남의 집에 가만히 들어가 어리석은 여자를 유인하는 자들이 있으니 그 여자는 죄를 중히 지고 여러 가지 욕심에 끌린 바 되어

딤후3:7 항상 배우나 끝내 진리의 지식에 이를 수 없느니라

딤후3:8 얀네와 얌브레가 모세를 대적한 것 같이 그들도 진리를 대적하니 이 사람들은 그 마음이 부패한 자요 믿음에 관하여는 버림을 받은 자들이라

딤후3:9 그러나 그들이 더 나아가지 못할 것은 저 두 사람이 된 것과 같이 그들의 어리석음이 드러날 것임이라

딤후3:10 나의 교훈과 행실과 의향과 믿음과 오래 참음과 사랑과 인내와

딤후3:11 박해를 받음은 고난과 또한 안디옥과 이고니온과 루스드라에서 당한 일과 어떠한 박해를 받은 것을 내가 과연 보고 알았거니와 주께서 이 모든 것 가운데서 나를 건지셨느니라

딤후3:12 무릇 그리스도 예수 안에서 경건하게 살고자 하는 자는 박해를 받으리라

딤후3:13 악한 사람들과 속이는 자들은 더욱 악하여져서 속이기도 하고 속기도 하나니

딤후3:14 그러나 너는 배우고 확신한 일에 거하라 너는 네가 누구에게서 배운 것을 알며

딤후3:15 또 어려서부터 성경을 알았나니 성경은 능히 너로 하여금 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 믿음으로 말미암아 구원에 이르는 지혜가 있게 하느니라

딤후3:16 모든 성경은 하나님의 감동으로 된 것으로 교훈과 책망과 바르게 함과 의로 교육하기에 유익하니

딤후3:17 이는 하나님의 사람으로 온전하게 하며 모든 선한 일을 행할 능력을 갖추게 하려 함이라

호세아 5 장.

호5:1 제사장들아 이를 들으라 이스라엘 족속들아 깨달으라 왕족들아 귀를 기울이라 너희에게 심판이 있나니 너희가 미스바에 대하여 올무가 되며 다볼 위에 친 그물이 됨이라

호5:2 패역자가 살육죄에 깊이 빠졌으매 내가 그들을 다 벌하노라

호5:3 에브라임은 내가 알고 이스라엘은 내게 숨기지 못하나니 에브라임아 이제 네가 음행하였고 이스라엘이 더러워졌느니라

호5:4 그들의 행위가 그들로 자기 하나님에게 돌아가지 못하게 하나니 이는 음란한 마음이 그 속에 있어 여호와를 알지 못하는 까닭이라

호5:5 이스라엘의 교만이 그 얼굴에 드러났나니 그 죄악으로 말미암아 이스라엘과 에브라임이 넘어지고 유다도 그들과 함께 넘어지리라

호5:6 그들이 양 떼와 소 떼를 끌고 여호와를 찾으러 갈지라도 만나지 못할 것은 이미 그들에게서 떠나셨음이라

호5:7 그들이 여호와께 정조를 지키지 아니하고 사생아를 낳았으니 그러므로 새 달이 그들과 그 기업을 함께 삼키리로다

호5:8 너희가 기브아에서 뿔나팔을 불며 라마에서 나팔을 불며 벧아웬에서 외치기를 베냐민아 네 뒤를 쫓는다 할지어다

호5:9 벌하는 날에 에브라임이 황폐할 것이라 내가 이스라엘 지파 중에서 반드시 있을 일을 보였노라

호5:10 유다 지도자들은 경계표를 옮기는 자 같으니 내가 나의 진노를 그들에게 물 같이 부으리라

호5:11 에브라임은 사람의 명령 뒤따르기를 좋아하므로 학대를 받고 재판의 압제를 받는도다

호5:12 그러므로 내가 에브라임에게는 좀 같으며 유다 족속에게는 썩이는 것 같도다

호5:13 에브라임이 자기의 병을 깨달으며 유다가 자기의 상처를 깨달았고 에브라임은 앗수르로 가서 야렙 왕에게 사람을 보내었으나 그가 능히 너희를 고치지 못하겠고 너희 상처를 낫게 하지 못하리라

호5:14 내가 에브라임에게는 사자 같고 유다 족속에게는 젊은 사자 같으니 바로 내가 움켜갈지라 내가 탈취하여 갈지라도 건져낼 자가 없으리라

호5:15 그들이 그 죄를 뉘우치고 내 얼굴을 구하기까지 내가 내 곳으로 돌아가리라 그들이 고난 받을 때에 나를 간절히 구하리라

호세아 6 장.

호6:1 오라 우리가 여호와께로 돌아가자 여호와께서 우리를 찢으셨으나 도로 낫게 하실 것이요 우리를 치셨으나 싸매어 주실 것임이라

호6:2 여호와께서 이틀 후에 우리를 살리시며 셋째 날에 우리를 일으키시리니 우리가 그의 앞에서 살리라

호6:3 그러므로 우리가 여호와를 알자 힘써 여호와를 알자 그의 나타나심은 새벽 빛 같이 어김없나니 비와 같이, 땅을 적시는 늦은 비와 같이 우리에게 임하시리라 하니라

호6:4 에브라임아 내가 네게 어떻게 하랴 유다야 내가 네게 어떻게 하랴 너희의 인애가 아침 구름이나 쉬 없어지는 이슬 같도다

호6:5 그러므로 내가 선지자들로 그들을 치고 내 입의 말로 그들을 죽였노니 내 심판은 빛처럼 나오느니라

호6:6 나는 인애를 원하고 제사를 원하지 아니하며 번제보다 하나님을 아는 것을 원하노라

호6:7 그들은 아담처럼 언약을 어기고 거기에서 나를 반역하였느니라

호6:8 길르앗은 악을 행하는 자의 고을이라 피 발자국으로 가득 찼도다

호6:9 강도 떼가 사람을 기다림 같이 제사장의 무리가 세겜 길에서 살인하니 그들이 사악을 행하였느니라

호6:10 내가 이스라엘 집에서 가증한 일을 보았나니 거기서 에브람임은 음행하였고 이스라엘은 더럽혀졌느니라

호6:11 또한 유다여 내가 내 백성의 사로잡힘을 돌이킬 때에 네게도 추수할 일을 정하였느니라

시편 119 장.

시119:1 행위가 온전하여 여호와의 율법을 따라 행하는 자들은 복이 있음이여

시119:2 여호와의 증거들을 지키고 전심으로 여호와를 구하는 자는 복이 있도다

시119:3 참으로 그들은 불의를 행하지 아니하고 주의 도를 행하는도다

시119:4 주께서 명령하사 주의 법도를 잘 지키게 하셨나이다

시119:5 내 길을 굳게 정하사 주의 율례를 지키게 하소서

시119:6 내가 주의 모든 계명에 주의할 때에는 부끄럽지 아니하리이다

시119:7 내가 주의 의로운 판단을 배울 때에는 정직한 마음으로 주께 감사하리이다

시119:8 내가 주의 율례들을 지키오리니 나를 아주 버리지 마옵소서

시119:9 청년이 무엇으로 그의 행실을 깨끗하게 하리이까 주의 말씀만 지킬 따름이니이다

시119:10 내가 전심으로 주를 찾았사오니 주의 계명에서 떠나지 말게 하소서

시119:11 내가 주께 범죄하지 아니하려 하여 주의 말씀을 내 마음에 두었나이다

시119:12 찬송을 받으실 주 여호와여 주의 율례들을 내게 가르치소서

시119:13 주의 입의 모든 규례들을 나의 입술로 선포하였으며

시119:14 내가 모든 재물을 즐거워함 같이 주의 증거들의 도를 즐거워하였나이다

시119:15 내가 주의 법도들을 작은 소리로 읊조리며 주의 길들에 주의하며

시119:16 주의 율례들을 즐거워하며 주의 말씀을 잊지 아니하리이다

시119:17 주의 종을 후대하여 살게 하소서 그리하시면 주의 말씀을 지키리이다

시119:18 내 눈을 열어서 주의 율법에서 놀라운 것을 보게 하소서

시119:19 나는 땅에서 나그네가 되었사오니 주의 계명들을 내게 숨기지 마소서

시119:20 주의 규례들을 항상 사모함으로 내 마음이 상하나이다

시119:21 교만하여 저주를 받으며 주의 계명들에서 떠나는 자들을 주께서 꾸짖으셨나이다

시119:22 내가 주의 교훈들을 지켰사오니 비방과 멸시를 내게서 떠나게 하소서

시119:23 고관들도 앉아서 나를 비방하였사오나 주의 종은 주의 율례들을 작은 소리로 읊조렸나이다

시119:24 주의 증거들은 나의 즐거움이요 나의 충고자니이다

시119:25 내 영혼이 진토에 붙었사오니 주의 말씀대로 나를 살아나게 하소서

시119:26 내가 나의 행위를 아뢰매 주께서 내게 응답하셨사오니 주의 율례들을 내게 가르치소서

시119:27 나에게 주의 법도들의 길을 깨닫게 하여 주소서 그리하시면 내가 주의 기이한 일들을 작은 소리로 읊조리리이다

시119:28 나의 영혼이 눌림으로 말미암아 녹사오니 주의 말씀대로 나를 세우소서

시119:29 거짓 행위를 내게서 떠나게 하시고 주의 법을 내게 은혜로이 베푸소서

시119:30 내가 성실한 길을 택하고 주의 규례들을 내 앞에 두었나이다

시119:31 내가 주의 증거들에 매달렸사오니 여호와여 내가 수치를 당하지 말게 하소서

시119:32 주께서 내 마음을 넓히시면 내가 주의 계명들의 길로 달려가리이다

시119:33 여호와여 주의 율례들의 도를 내게 가르치소서 내가 끝까지 지키리이다

시119:34 나로 하여금 깨닫게 하여 주소서 내가 주의 법을 준행하며 전심으로 지키리이다

시119:35 나로 하여금 주의 계명들의 길로 행하게 하소서 내가 이를 즐거워함이니이다

시119:36 내 마음을 주의 증거들에게 향하게 하시고 탐욕으로 향하지 말게 하소서

시119:37 내 눈을 돌이켜 허탄한 것을 보지 말게 하시고 주의 길에서 나를 살아나게 하소서

시119:38 주를 경외하게 하는 주의 말씀을 주의 종에게 세우소서

시119:39 내가 두려워하는 비방을 내게서 떠나게 하소서 주의 규례들은 선하심이니이다

시119:40 내가 주의 법도들을 사모하였사오니 주의 공의로 나를 살아나게 하소서

시119:41 여호와여 주의 말씀대로 주의 인자하심과 주의 구원을 내게 임하게 하소서

시119:42 그리하시면 내가 나를 비방하는 자들에게 대답할 말이 있사오리니 내가 주의 말씀을 의지함이니이다

시119:43 진리의 말씀이 내 입에서 조금도 떠나지 말게 하소서 내가 주의 규례를 바랐음이니이다

시119:44 내가 주의 율법을 항상 지키리이다 영원히 지키리이다

시119:45 내가 주의 법도들을 구하였사오니 자유롭게 걸어갈 것이오며

시119:46 또 왕들 앞에서 주의 교훈들을 말할 때에 수치를 당하지 아니하겠사오며

시119:47 내가 사랑하는 주의 계명들을 스스로 즐거워하며

시119:48 또 내가 사랑하는 주의 계명들을 향하여 내 손을 들고 주의 율례들을 작은 소리로 읊조리리이다

시119:49 주의 종에게 하신 말씀을 기억하소서 주께서 내게 소망을 가지게 하셨나이다

시119:50 이 말씀은 나의 고난 중의 위로라 주의 말씀이 나를 살리셨기 때문이니이다

시119:51 교만한 자들이 나를 심히 조롱하였어도 나는 주의 법을 떠나지 아니하였나이다

시119:52 여호와여 주의 옛 규례들을 내가 기억하고 스스로 위로하였나이다

시119:53 주의 율법을 버린 악인들로 말미암아 내가 맹렬한 분노에 사로잡혔나이다

시119:54 내가 나그네 된 집에서 주의 율례들이 나의 노래가 되었나이다

시119:55 여호와여 내가 밤에 주의 이름을 기억하고 주의 법을 지켰나이다

시119:56 내 소유는 이것이니 곧 주의 법도들을 지킨 것이니이다

시119:57 여호와는 나의 분깃이시니 나는 주의 말씀을 지키리라 하였나이다

시119:58 내가 전심으로 주께 간구하였사오니 주의 말씀대로 내게 은혜를 베푸소서

시119:59 내가 내 행위를 생각하고 주의 증거들을 향하여 내 발길을 돌이켰사오며

시119:60 주의 계명들을 지키기에 신속히 하고 지체하지 아니하였나이다

시119:61 악인들의 줄이 내게 두루 얽혔을지라도 나는 주의 법을 잊지 아니하였나이다

시119:62 내가 주의 의로운 규례들로 말미암아 밤중에 일어나 주께 감사하리이다

시119:63 나는 주를 경외하는 모든 자들과 주의 법도들을 지키는 자들의 친구라

시119:64 여호와여 주의 인자하심이 땅에 충만하였사오니 주의 율례들로 나를 가르치소서

시119:65 여호와여 주의 말씀대로 주의 종을 선대하셨나이다

시119:66 내가 주의 계명들을 믿었사오니 좋은 명철과 지식을 내게 가르치소서

시119:67 고난 당하기 전에는 내가 그릇 행하였더니 이제는 주의 말씀을 지키나이다

시119:68 주는 선하사 선을 행하시오니 주의 율례들로 나를 가르치소서

시119:69 교만한 자들이 거짓을 지어 나를 치려 하였사오나 나는 전심으로 주의 법도들을 지키리이다

시119:70 그들의 마음은 살져서 기름덩이 같으나 나는 주의 법을 즐거워하나이다

시119:71 고난 당한 것이 내게 유익이라 이로 말미암아 내가 주의 율례들을 배우게 되었나이다

시119:72 주의 입의 법이 내게는 천천 금은보다 좋으니이다

시119:73 주의 손이 나를 만들고 세우셨사오니 내가 깨달아 주의 계명들을 배우게 하소서

시119:74 주를 경외하는 자들이 나를 보고 기뻐하는 것은 내가 주의 말씀을 바라는 까닭이니이다

시119:75 여호와여 내가 알거니와 주의 심판은 의로우시고 주께서 나를 괴롭게 하심은 성실하심 때문이니이다

시119:76 구하오니 주의 종에게 하신 말씀대로 주의 인자하심이 나의 위안이 되게 하시며

시119:77 주의 긍휼히 여기심이 내게 임하사 내가 살게 하소서 주의 법은 나의 즐거움이니이라

시119:78 교만한 자들이 거짓으로 나를 엎드러뜨렸으니 그들이 수치를 당하게 하소서 나는 주의 법도들을 작은 소리로 읊조리리이다

시119:79 주를 경외하는 자들이 내게 돌아오게 하소서 그리하시면 그들이 주의 증거들을 알리이다

시119:80 내 마음으로 주의 율례들에 완전하게 하사 내가 수치를 당하지 아니하게 하소서

시119:81 나의 영혼이 주의 구원을 사모하기에 피곤하오나 나는 주의 말씀을 바라나이다

시119:82 나의 말이 주께서 언제나 나를 안위하실까 하면서 내 눈이 주의 말씀을 사모하기에 피곤하니이다

시119:83 내가 연기 속의 가죽 부대 같이 되었으나 주의 율례들을 잊지 아니하나이다

시119:84 주의 종의 날이 얼마나 되나이까 나를 핍박하는 자들을 주께서 언제나 심판하시리이까

시119:85 주의 법을 따르지 아니하는 교만한 자들이 나를 해하려고 웅덩이를 팠나이다

시119:86 주의 모든 계명들은 신실하니이다 그들이 이유 없이 나를 핍박하오니 나를 도우소서

시119:87 그들이 나를 세상에서 거의 멸하였으나 나는 주의 법도들을 버리지 아니하였사오니

시119:88 주의 인자하심을 따라 나를 살아나게 하소서 그리하시면 주의 입의 교훈들을 내가 지키리이다

시119:89 여호와여 주의 말씀은 영원히 하늘에 굳게 섰사오며

시119:90 주의 성실하심은 대대에 이르나이다 주께서 땅을 세우셨으므로 땅이 항상 있사오니

시119:91 천지가 주의 규례들대로 오늘까지 있음은 만물이 주의 종이 된 까닭이니이다

시119:92 주의 법이 나의 즐거움이 되지 아니하였더면 내가 내 고난 중에 멸망하였으리이다

시119:93 내가 주의 법도들을 영원히 잊지 아니하오니 주께서 이것들 때문에 나를 살게 하심이니이다

시119:94 나는 주의 것이오니 나를 구원하소서 내가 주의 법도들만을 찾았나이다

시119:95 악인들이 나를 멸하려고 엿보오나 나는 주의 증거들만을 생각하겠나이다

시119:96 내가 보니 모든 완전한 것이 다 끝이 있어도 주의 계명들은 심히 넓으니이다

시119:97 내가 주의 법을 어찌 그리 사랑하는지요 내가 그것을 종일 작은 소리로 읊조리나이다

시119:98 주의 계명들이 항상 나와 함께 하므로 그것들이 나를 원수보다 지혜롭게 하나이다

시119:99 내가 주의 증거들을 늘 읊조리므로 나의 명철함이 나의 모든 스승보다 나으며

시119:100 주의 법도들을 지키므로 나의 명철함이 노인보다 나으니이다

시119:101 내가 주의 말씀을 지키려고 발을 금하여 모든 악한 길로 가지 아니하였사오며

시119:102 주께서 나를 가르치셨으므로 내가 주의 규례들에서 떠나지 아니하였나이다

시119:103 주의 말씀의 맛이 내게 어찌 그리 단지요 내 입에 꿀보다 더 다니이다

시119:104 주의 법도들로 말미암아 내가 명철하게 되었으므로 모든 거짓 행위를 미워하나이다

시119:105 주의 말씀은 내 발에 등이요 내 길에 빛이니이다

시119:106 주의 의로운 규례들을 지키기로 맹세하고 굳게 정하였나이다

시119:107 나의 고난이 매우 심하오니 여호와여 주의 말씀대로 나를 살아나게 하소서

시119:108 여호와여 구하오니 내 입이 드리는 자원제물을 받으시고 주의 공의를 내게 가르치소서

시119:109 나의 생명이 항상 위기에 있사오나 나는 주의 법을 잊지 아니하나이다

시119:110 악인들이 나를 해하려고 올무를 놓았사오나 나는 주의 법도들에서 떠나지 아니하였나이다

시119:111 주의 증거들로 내가 영원히 나의 기업을 삼았사오니 이는 내 마음의 즐거움이 됨이니이다

시119:112 내가 주의 율례들을 영원히 행하려고 내 마음을 기울였나이다

시119:113 내가 두 마음 품는 자들을 미워하고 주의 법을 사랑하나이다

2 Kings 13.

13:1 In the twenty-third year of Joash son of Ahaziah king of Judah, Jehoahaz son of Jehu became king of Israel in Samaria, and he reigned seventeen years.

13:2 He did evil in the eyes of the LORD by following the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he had caused Israel to commit, and he did not turn away from them.

13:3 So the LORD'S anger burned against Israel, and for a long time he kept them under the power of Hazael king of Aram and Ben-Hadad his son.

13:4 Then Jehoahaz sought the LORD'S favor, and the LORD listened to him, for he saw how severely the king of Aram was oppressing Israel.

13:5 The LORD provided a deliverer for Israel, and they escaped from the power of Aram. So the Israelites lived in their own homes as they had before.

13:6 But they did not turn away from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, which he had caused Israel to commit; they continued in them. Also, the Asherah pole remained standing in Samaria.

13:7 Nothing had been left of the army of Jehoahaz except fifty horsemen, ten chariots and ten thousand foot soldiers, for the king of Aram had destroyed the rest and made them like the dust at threshing time.

13:8 As for the other events of the reign of Jehoahaz, all he did and his achievements, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Israel?

13:9 Jehoahaz rested with his fathers and was buried in Samaria. And Jehoash his son succeeded him as king.

13:10 In the thirty-seventh year of Joash king of Judah, Jehoash son of Jehoahaz became king of Israel in Samaria, and he reigned sixteen years.

13:11 He did evil in the eyes of the LORD and did not turn away from any of the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he had caused Israel to commit; he continued in them.

13:12 As for the other events of the reign of Jehoash, all he did and his achievements, including his war against Amaziah king of Judah, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Israel?

13:13 Jehoash rested with his fathers, and Jeroboam succeeded him on the throne. Jehoash was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel.

13:14 Now Elisha was suffering from the illness from which he died. Jehoash king of Israel went down to see him and wept over him. "My father! My father!" he cried. "The chariots and horsemen of Israel!"

13:15 Elisha said, "Get a bow and some arrows," and he did so.

13:16 "Take the bow in your hands," he said to the king of Israel. When he had taken it, Elisha put his hands on the king's hands.

13:17 "Open the east window," he said, and he opened it. "Shoot!" Elisha said, and he shot. "The LORD'S arrow of victory, the arrow of victory over Aram!" Elisha declared. "You will completely destroy the Arameans at Aphek."

13:18 Then he said, "Take the arrows," and the king took them. Elisha told him, "Strike the ground." He struck it three times and stopped.

13:19 The man of God was angry with him and said, "You should have struck the ground five or six times; then you would have defeated Aram and completely destroyed it. But now you will defeat it only three times."

13:20 Elisha died and was buried. Now Moabite raiders used to enter the country every spring.

13:21 Once while some Israelites were burying a man, suddenly they saw a band of raiders; so they threw the man's body into Elisha's tomb. When the body touched Elisha's bones, the man came to life and stood up on his feet.

13:22 Hazael king of Aram oppressed Israel throughout the reign of Jehoahaz.

13:23 But the LORD was gracious to them and had compassion and showed concern for them because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. To this day he has been unwilling to destroy them or banish them from his presence.

13:24 Hazael king of Aram died, and Ben-Hadad his son succeeded him as king.

13:25 Then Jehoash son of Jehoahaz recaptured from Ben-Hadad son of Hazael the towns he had taken in battle from his father Jehoahaz. Three times Jehoash defeated him, and so he recovered the Israelite towns.

2 Timothy 3.

3:1 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.

3:2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,

3:3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good,

3:4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God--

3:5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.

3:6 They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over weak-willed women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires,

3:7 always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth.

3:8 Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these men oppose the truth--men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected.

3:9 But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone.

3:10 You, however, know all about my teaching, my way of life, my purpose, faith, patience, love, endurance,

3:11 persecutions, sufferings--what kinds of things happened to me in Antioch, Iconium and Lystra, the persecutions I endured. Yet the Lord rescued me from all of them.

3:12 In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted,

3:13 while evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.

3:14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it,

3:15 and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,

3:17 so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Hosea 5.

5:1 "Hear this, you priests! Pay attention, you Israelites! Listen, O royal house! This judgment is against you: You have been a snare at Mizpah, a net spread out on Tabor.

5:2 The rebels are deep in slaughter. I will discipline all of them.

5:3 I know all about Ephraim; Israel is not hidden from me. Ephraim, you have now turned to prostitution; Israel is corrupt.

5:4 "Their deeds do not permit them to return to their God. A spirit of prostitution is in their heart; they do not acknowledge the LORD.

5:5 Israel's arrogance testifies against them; the Israelites, even Ephraim, stumble in their sin; Judah also stumbles with them.

5:6 When they go with their flocks and herds to seek the LORD, they will not find him; he has withdrawn himself from them.

5:7 They are unfaithful to the LORD; they give birth to illegitimate children. Now their New Moon festivals will devour them and their fields.

5:8 "Sound the trumpet in Gibeah, the horn in Ramah. Raise the battle cry in Beth Aven; lead on, O Benjamin.

5:9 Ephraim will be laid waste on the day of reckoning. Among the tribes of Israel I proclaim what is certain.

5:10 Judah's leaders are like those who move boundary stones. I will pour out my wrath on them like a flood of water.

5:11 Ephraim is oppressed, trampled in judgment, intent on pursuing idols.

5:12 I am like a moth to Ephraim, like rot to the people of Judah.

5:13 "When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah his sores, then Ephraim turned to Assyria, and sent to the great king for help. But he is not able to cure you, not able to heal your sores.

5:14 For I will be like a lion to Ephraim, like a great lion to Judah. I will tear them to pieces and go away; I will carry them off, with no one to rescue them.

5:15 Then I will go back to my place until they admit their guilt. And they will seek my face; in their misery they will earnestly seek me."

Hosea 6.

6:1 "Come, let us return to the LORD. He has torn us to pieces but he will heal us; he has injured us but he will bind up our wounds.

6:2 After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will restore us, that we may live in his presence.

6:3 Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth."

6:4 "What can I do with you, Ephraim? What can I do with you, Judah? Your love is like the morning mist, like the early dew that disappears.

6:5 Therefore I cut you in pieces with my prophets, I killed you with the words of my mouth; my judgments flashed like lightning upon you.

6:6 For I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and acknowledgment of God rather than burnt offerings.

6:7 Like Adam, they have broken the covenant--they were unfaithful to me there.

6:8 Gilead is a city of wicked men, stained with footprints of blood.

6:9 As marauders lie in ambush for a man, so do bands of priests; they murder on the road to Shechem, committing shameful crimes.

6:10 I have seen a horrible thing in the house of Israel. There Ephraim is given to prostitution and Israel is defiled.

6:11 "Also for you, Judah, a harvest is appointed.

Psalms 119.

119:1 Blessed are they whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the LORD.

119:2 Blessed are they who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart.

119:3 They do nothing wrong; they walk in his ways.

119:4 You have laid down precepts that are to be fully obeyed.

119:5 Oh, that my ways were steadfast in obeying your decrees!

119:6 Then I would not be put to shame when I consider all your commands.

119:7 I will praise you with an upright heart as I learn your righteous laws.

119:8 I will obey your decrees; do not utterly forsake me.

119:9 How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word.

119:10 I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands.

119:11 I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.

119:12 Praise be to you, O LORD; teach me your decrees.

119:13 With my lips I recount all the laws that come from your mouth.

119:14 I rejoice in following your statutes as one rejoices in great riches.

119:15 I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways.

119:16 I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word.

119:17 Do good to your servant, and I will live; I will obey your word.

119:18 Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.

119:19 I am a stranger on earth; do not hide your commands from me.

119:20 My soul is consumed with longing for your laws at all times.

119:21 You rebuke the arrogant, who are cursed and who stray from your commands.

119:22 Remove from me scorn and contempt, for I keep your statutes.

119:23 Though rulers sit together and slander me, your servant will meditate on your decrees.

119:24 Your statutes are my delight; they are my counselors.

119:25 I am laid low in the dust; preserve my life according to your word.

119:26 I recounted my ways and you answered me; teach me your decrees.

119:27 Let me understand the teaching of your precepts; then I will meditate on your wonders.

119:28 My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word.

119:29 Keep me from deceitful ways; be gracious to me through your law.

119:30 I have chosen the way of truth; I have set my heart on your laws.

119:31 I hold fast to your statutes, O LORD; do not let me be put to shame.

119:32 I run in the path of your commands, for you have set my heart free.

119:33 Teach me, O LORD, to follow your decrees; then I will keep them to the end.

119:34 Give me understanding, and I will keep your law and obey it with all my heart.

119:35 Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight.

119:36 Turn my heart toward your statutes and not toward selfish gain.

119:37 Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word.

119:38 Fulfill your promise to your servant, so that you may be feared.

119:40 How I long for your precepts! Preserve my life in your righteousness.

119:41 May your unfailing love come to me, O LORD, your salvation according to your promise;

119:42 then I will answer the one who taunts me, for I trust in your word.

119:43 Do not snatch the word of truth from my mouth, for I have put my hope in your laws.

119:44 I will always obey your law, for ever and ever.

119:45 I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts.

119:46 I will speak of your statutes before kings and will not be put to shame,

119:47 for I delight in your commands because I love them.

119:48 I lift up my hands to your commands, which I love, and I meditate on your decrees.

119:49 Remember your word to your servant, for you have given me hope.

119:50 My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life.

119:51 The arrogant mock me without restraint, but I do not turn from your law.

119:52 I remember your ancient laws, O LORD, and I find comfort in them.

119:53 Indignation grips me because of the wicked, who have forsaken your law.

119:54 Your decrees are the theme of my song wherever I lodge.

119:55 In the night I remember your name, O LORD, and I will keep your law.

119:56 This has been my practice: I obey your precepts.

119:57 You are my portion, O LORD; I have promised to obey your words.

119:58 I have sought your face with all my heart; be gracious to me according to your promise.

119:59 I have considered my ways and have turned my steps to your statutes.

119:60 I will hasten and not delay to obey your commands.

119:61 Though the wicked bind me with ropes, I will not forget your law.

119:62 At midnight I rise to give you thanks for your righteous laws.

119:63 I am a friend to all who fear you, to all who follow your precepts.

119:64 The earth is filled with your love, O LORD; teach me your decrees.

119:65 Do good to your servant according to your word, O LORD.

119:66 Teach me knowledge and good judgment, for I believe in your commands.

119:67 Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I obey your word.

119:68 You are good, and what you do is good; teach me your decrees.

119:69 Though the arrogant have smeared me with lies, I keep your precepts with all my heart.

119:70 Their hearts are callous and unfeeling, but I delight in your law.

119:71 It was good for me to be afflicted so that I might learn your decrees.

119:72 The law from your mouth is more precious to me than thousands of pieces of silver and gold.

119:73 Your hands made me and formed me; give me understanding to learn your commands.

119:74 May those who fear you rejoice when they see me, for I have put my hope in your word.

119:75 I know, O LORD, that your laws are righteous, and in faithfulness you have afflicted me.

119:76 May your unfailing love be my comfort, according to your promise to your servant.

119:77 Let your compassion come to me that I may live, for your law is my delight.

119:78 May the arrogant be put to shame for wronging me without cause; but I will meditate on your precepts.

119:79 May those who fear you turn to me, those who understand your statutes.

119:90 Your faithfulness continues through all generations; you established the earth, and it endures.

119:92 If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction.
